Summary: Huge improvement over the first film
Review: When I left the first movie after seeing it, I couldn't remember hardly anything that had happened in it only a couple of hours later. It was all special effects and the guy who played Harry Potter grinning irritatingly at everything he saw. But I think the second film was a huge improvement. It grabbed and kept my attention.I'm sad that Richard Harris died after filming on this one was finished. He was good as Dumbledore. Michael Gambon will be good. I just read that Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) will be playing Voldemort. Now that is strange.

Review: Im a teenager i listen to rock music and i like harry potter. I like to read and i found these books interesting, when i found out they were coming out with Harry Potter movies i was pissed because i didnt want them to ruin the book, well they didnt and it was cool seeing something youve read. Great!

Summary: Potter even better 2nd time around!
Review: There is no doubt that the first Harry Potter movie, "The Sorcerer's stone" was a smash hit. The movie did an excellent job telling a story and at the same time introducing all the characters. This time around, it plunges right into the story and doesn't let up! The story is wonderful, the acting is superb, especially Daniel Radcliffe, and the effects and sets are absolutely mezmerizing. This movie is truly one for any DVD collection! Both young and old will love this sequel that is even better than the original!

Summary: OK... but could've been MUCH better
Review: The plot followed the book very well (with the exception that they cut out Peeves)but it goes downhill from there. the character portrayal from the books didn't seem quite right (esspecially Harry) there was a sense (sometimes) of the magic from the books, but not in the overall product wasn't what it should be. this movie was made on a large budget and a "grand scale" but it didn't show. Has Danial Radcliffe read the books? really has he? I was very dissappionted with the portrayal of Ron. He was too whiny and scared all the time. Anyone would stop caring what happened to him. The directing was also a problem. some people don't realize, but a director holds the movie together, not here. Chris Columbus is a good director (Home Alone) but not for this kind of movie. Speilberg (who can direct just about anything) or Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) would've been a better chioce. And what is with the BRITISH ACTORS ONLY policy? it's biased that just cuz JK Rowling is a brit all the actors have too be? there are countless actors from other countries who would've been 10 times better. Most of them can do an exelent british accent too. I'll see the 3rd movie, but my expectations aren't too high. personally I think Johnny Depp would've been a wonderful chioce to play Sirius, but, oh, I forgot, he can't. He's American.

Dumbledore - Zzzzz.
Fake snake - fake.
Fawkes - fake savior against fake snake.
Ginny & Potter - weird Oedipal resemblance to Lily and James. As usual, suspending belief is essential to understanding the story. Adults have no sense and only the Potter gangsters can bring salvation. So why isn't Professor McGonagall taking lessons from Potter? In a world where snooping is heroism, the tale of two misfits continues, either Harry or Tom will crack, for neither can live while the other fails at acting.

Summary: as good as the first movie
Review: A film by Chris Columbus This is the second Harry Potter film and is the sequel to 2001's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". Like the first film, this one is also based on the book of the same title by J.K. Rowling. Also like the first film, this movie adaptation is faithful to the novel. This movie is set during Harry's (Daniel Radcliffe) second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Like the previous movie, this one begins before school starts and Harry is still staying with his aunt and uncle. He has not heard from his friends all summer, and he is forbidden to send out his owl to send letters to his friends. It seems like a typical summer for Harry, except when a house elf named Dobby (Tony Jones, voice) appears and tries to convince Harry not to return to Hogwarts. Naturally, Harry is going to go back, it is the only place of happiness that he knows. But this is the set up and lets us know from the start that something is going, and we just don't know what it is yet. When school begins, Harry is reunited with his friends Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson). Of course, they have several adventures even before the main story truly begins. There is a new teacher at the school, Professor Lockhart (Kenneth Branagh), the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts. He is a preening, pompous, self-absorbed fool, but all of the female students love him. The story truly begins when a student turns up petrified and there is a note written on a wall saying "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened". This sets the school abuzz with rumors of what the Chamber is and what happened the last time the Chamber was opened. This is, of course, the beginning of the adventure for Harry, Hermione, and Ron, as they strive to discover what is happening and who is behind it, and how to stop it. "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" was just as good as the first movie, and has a similar feel to it (which makes sense since both films have the same director). It was an enjoyable movie, if a little long for children's movie. The movie captures the events and look of the novels, but like the first film, it lacks the tone and joy of reading the books. The novels have such a fast paced, wonderful tone that the movies simply cannot recreate. I find enjoyment in the movies because I have read the books, but I'm not sure if that same enjoyment would come across to those who have not read the books.

Review: This is the film version of J. K. Rowling's novel by the same name, the second in the Harry Potter Series. If you liked the first movie and/or read the books, you won't be the least bit disappointed by this well-made adaptation. It's as imaginative, fascinating, fun-filled, and awe-inspiring as the first movie, but it's also darker, more serious and more complex than its predecessor. You will love it as much as the first one but in a different way. The leading characters are more developed, friendships grow closer, feuds deepen, and the underlying evil that will challenge goodness time and again throughout the series is completely revealed. Plots and sub-plots are explained as others are created. The visual effects, the scenery, and musical score excel their predecessors. The spellbinding magic comes back stronger, more entertaining and more serious than before. In this movie as Harry arrives at Hogwarts for a new school year, strange things start to happen. He starts hearing voices and every time he does someone turns up petrified, from the caretaker's cat to a few classmates to a resident ghost. The school might close indefinitely as it becomes unsafe for all the students. Harry discovers a few secrets of the School's past and himself, and is feared as many students believe him to be the cause of the petrifications. He receives the help of a giant (and not-so-friendly) spider, rides a flying car, encounters Tom Riddle, meets a mischievous but well-intended house elf and the most boastful schoolteacher yet and again has to put his integrity, moral strength and noble spirit to the test. The wonderful world created by J. K Rowling is faithfully captured once more in this movie. The actors' performances are better than in the first film and grow concomitantly with their characters. The children are especially delightful to watch in their well-known roles. If you really want to enjoy this movie watch or read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone first. Get this movie for your children and/or the kid inside you. You'll love it.

Review: I don't plan to write a very long review. I'm only reviewing this to make my 5-star rating count.
Very true to the wonderful book, it's very good. Some things you might be disappointed about - parts of the book that aren't in the movie - but I could only find a few.
Funny moments, serious moments, it's got all a movie should have.
