Rating: Summary: Four Harry Potter Long Time Harry Potter Fans! Review: My children all read more since the first Harry Potter book. If they see anything with Harry Potter on it, WE must stop and look. We got tickets for the movie for a showtime of 10:15pm. My kids dressed up in their Harry attire and off we went. The movie was wonderful, and my girl's sat through the whole movie. We all want to see it again, when we can get tickets. I'm so glad it's doing so well. Thank you JK Rowlings.
Rating: Summary: AMAZING!!!!!!! Review: The movie was awesome!! Warner Bros. was very true to the book, leaving out only minor details. The special effects were amazing. My favorite parts were the human chess scene, Quidditch, and the troll. It was great to see what some of the characters looked like, some totally different than what I imagined. Only drawback...the previews revealed too much!!! The book was better, but overall, the movie was SPECTACULAR!!!
Rating: Summary: Gorgeous!! Review: This is the best movie I've watched in year 2001!! Although it's a bit too long (2.5 hours), I think it worths every minute that you spend in watching it. A must-see movie even if you're not a Harry Potter's fan.
Rating: Summary: Superb Fresh Imagination Review: This movie is a delightful, on the edge of your seat thriller! Great Dream Works animation is mixed with extremely original imagination and a moral plot of heroism in good versus evil. This movie is wonderfully refreshing for the age group of 7-13 year olds that are too young for baby movies and not old enough for serious violence. It is a definate must see for the big screen and as soon as the DVD is released it will have a home amoung my collection of outstanding movies!
Rating: Summary: Some important things left out Review: What I really like about this movie is that it does not star any big name actor everyone knows. Some very important elements are left out though. Even though he is a minor character in the book, Neville Longbottom plays a big part in each of his scenes. He is grossly underdeveloped for the movie--whether this was how the script was written, or just some bad editing can be determined by viewers. The movie also seemed a little jumpy--developing the basics then going on before any true development can be made. There are many movies out there that we wish were shorter; I actually want this one to be longer. I think it would have been more fitting to put this on the small screen as an eight to ten-hour mini-series--on cable of course so we do not have to deal with commercials. I do not know how they will do Book 4 (which is twice as long). All of this aside, the movie is actually good and fun. Everybody knows that there is no way to be totally faithful to the novel!! So just sit back and enjoy. (Some scenes might scare the younger audience members. Rated PG, but very close to PG-13.)
Rating: Summary: fantastic and amazing film Review: this is a great movie for all to see. It shows courage , love, sacrifice, strenghth, and friendship. it was just overally great. fun family movie
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Review: After several months of waiting, I was finally able to see the movie. I enjoyed it, but was disappointed that some characters such as the Weasley twins had such smaller parts than the book or weren't in the movie at all. Although parts were missing, changed, and out of order, I am hoping to see the movie again. Many viewers will also enjoy the extra scene that was added. I recommend that kids under 6 should not see the movie. There are violent parts which they might not be able to handle.(I also recommend not to eat during the troll scene!)That's all I have to say for now!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Eye Candy, And A Decent Movie Besides Review: As most of the people have who have gone to the movie, I've read all four books and am eagerly awaiting the fifth. I feel rather like a Frosted Flakes lover with darkened face, as I'm 23 and still a big fan. That said, I was a little (not a lot) disappointed in the movie. The first hour, and particularly the first views of Hogwarts were nothing short of astonishing. I love visually attractive films, and this is one of the most appealing films since What Dreams May Come as far as that goes. It was also very VERY faithful to the book. This is where the trouble came. While some parts were left out, and I hate saying this, maybe a few more should have. The movie is 2 and a half hours long and it drags in the middle. I think this stems from the fact that a movie is pushing images at you while you pull images from a book and visualize it in your mind's eye. The movie doesn't have a good chance to describe the textures, emotions, smells, etc. like the book can, and without the extra descriptions to suck you into the movie, it is a bit slow. Jurassic Park had the same problem, the movie just couldn't do all of what the book did. That means that the middle of the book that we found interesting because it described Harry's classes and gave us more complete ideas of the many characters and their personalities just didn't play as well on the screen. Still, I enjoyed the movie a lot, and I was astounded by how quiet the theatre was through the whole movie despite the fact that at least half the people there were under 10. Obviously the kids didn't notice the slowdown. What they probably did notice was that the movie was more than a bit frightening at times. The final confrontation made me jump a bit and was visually detailed and memorable enough to cause nightmares for munchkins around the world. I think it was rated PG by a very bare margin. Just a warning to those with small children. If nothing else, consider waiting until it is out on video and significantly smaller in size before letting them see it. Overall, everything was almost exactly as I pictured it, the casting was phenomenal, the sets and costumes were unbelievable, and except for the middle hour it was quite entertaining. My question is how are they going to fit the next couple of books into one movie if the first was 2.5 hours? I wish them luck, and I'll be there again to see it in the first weekend. If you're a fan, go see it and make your own judgement!
Rating: Summary: Great movie Review: I saw the movie the day after it came out. I bought tickts that included a Harry Potter costume party. I dressed as Hermione, and three-forths of the people had dressed up. Then we got posters, and then the movie started. I thought it was short because so many things had been cut out, and I've read the book so many times, I waited for certain parts to happen and they didn't. I loved the music and I thought there were good actors. I especily loved the parts for Dudley. I realy liked Quiddich. I would DEFENITLY recemend reading the book before waching the movie.
Rating: Summary: The Harry Potter Movie Review: Wow. There is no other way to describe it. Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is stuck in a world that he doesn't belong. With a mysterious scar on his forehead, Harry has no idea who is parents were, why he lives with his aunt and uncle and most importantly why he has made strange things happen that he can't explain. This movie stayed so close to the book, of which I was worried about, that it amazed me.The actors were just plain awesome, the graphics were unbelievable and the scores Were just great!!! Even if you aren't a Harry Potter fan, this movie is perfect for all ages. This is an awesome movie and I give it a great review! GO SEE IT! IT'S WICKED!
