Summary: Good in theaters, hopefully GREAT on DVD!
Review: I saw the movie the first day it came out. It was very good, but it was a tiny bit disapointing. The movie stayed close to the book, but a few things were diversioned and MANY things were left out. The DVD will have all the deleted scenes and hopefully the entire directors cut! The Harry Potter website says there will be 10 minutes of never before seen stuff, but I don't belive that. This will also have some very cool special features. I think the good theaterical realease will make a GREAT DVD!

Summary: Amazing and a unique expirience.
Review: After reeding all 4 book(Twice) i guess that the first movie is really amazing and it really shows the most importants things of the whole book but I still expected a bit more but have to tell that my friends that haven read the book really liked It.
I think that you'll should all buy the DVD or VHS cause it is really worth the live the magic and experience again and again.
Hope my experience has worked!!!!!

Summary: Harry Potter: Wizard or witch?
Review: First of all let me say that I did enjoy the movie, although I have never read more than book one.
Just one comment, I have never heard of a wizard riding a broom. Wouldn't that make Harry Potter
A witch? ...

Summary: An intriguing attempt
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was an excellent attempt, however, I don't think that it was as "magical" as it could have been. Not to say that the acting was not superb; it was, along with the cinematography and artwork of it all. I would have given Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 5 stars easily - if I haven't just come from seeing Lord of the Rings - Harry Potter can't hold a candle to The Fellowship of the Ring. If you only see one fantasy movie this year, see The Fellowship of the Ring. If you see two, then go to Harry Potter.

Summary: BEST MOVIE I'VE SEEN ALL YEAR!!!!!
Review: I think that this DVD Could have been MUCH better if they kept more of the basic structure in it. But I still really enjoied the Movie. It did have some really good parts, like when Harry was under the trap door with the chess peices. Smashing Each other to bites. And him fighting Voldermort/Proffesor Querill. I didn't picture Him turning to dust, but I did think of Querill just meling from Harry's touch. That was just birlint!!

Summary: Read the book first...
Review: I've talked to many people about this film and it seems to me that people who've never read the book enjoyed the movie a lot (though they needed their friends who've read the book to fill in some blanks). And people who have read the book think there are gaps and that the story was rushed. I also kept telling people that considering how much was removed and the successive books getting thicker and thicker, "I wonder what the Goblet of Fire movie will be like!" A television mini-series would probably be able to capture every line of the book, but nothing beats seeing it and being awed by the action scenes (like the troll fight in the bathroom and Quidditch match towards the end) on the big screen.

When I say that some elements of the book were rushed, I mean that it's as if the writer of the movie was in a hurry to tell the story because there just isn't enough time despite the film's three-hour length. So we see scenes shifting from one to the next with no clean transition. In a sense, I do respect the screenwriter choice for not straying from the book, but I'm disappointed at the loss of some of the story's magical feeling in the screenplay.

I must say the casting was superb. The actors were exactly how I imagined the characters in the book to be! I especially think that Emma Watson (who played Hermione) did an excellent job with her character. She was snobbish at the right moments to the right degree, and sensitive enough for the audience to believe her. Hagrid looked menacing enough and Dumbledore looked wise indeed.

However, contrary to what you might think. I would still recommend to the reader to read the book first before watching the film. Even though you'll be tempted to point out the shortcomings of the film, atleast you can fill in the rest of the story by yourself and not lose the motivation to read.

Summary: This movie was , "BLOODY BRILLIANT!"
Review: This movie was really great, these kids are really quite young and they did a great job in acting. After all, it took 10 months to film! who can put up with that????

Summary: STINKER!
Review: Boy, this movie's dissapointing! The story's not good at all! the one thing about this movie that I like is the acting! Everyone says this is so cool. I got bored too easily. The Fellowship of the Rings is so much better, mainly because of its realisim. Harry Potter was FAR from serious! What a disgrace!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent, A sure classic.
Review: This movie was entertaining, exciting, and just plain wonderful. Of special note; my grandson, who is a Harry Potter expert, could only find two or three deviations from the book. We went to the film as a family, Granddad, Grandmother, Dad, Mom, Son, Daughter, and Aunt. All 7 of us were delighted. It rate at the top, along with classics such as Wizard of OZ, Tales of Narnia, and Lord of the Rings. Hooray for such a delightful family film.
