Summary: Excellent movie for children and parents
Review: I realize this is not a movie on the scale of Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings; it is, however, a very good movie for families to view together. There are not many of those around anymore. The younger actors are new to acting and yes you can tell and some say the scenes are quick but who really goes to a movie to disect it. I went with my 12 yeard old daughter who loved it and the books. She didn't care that the performances weren't Academy Award material. All she cared about was that the movie was very close to the book and it was very entertaining. I myself have seen the movie twice and read all four books. I also have to say that anything that get children back on the road to reading is an instant hit with me. I have never seen my daughter read likes she reads those books. She has also started reading other similar books that she never would have even thought about before.

Summary: A Timeless Treasure
Review: When I first saw this movie with my mom, I fell in love with it instantly. I have already read the books and the movie followed the book exactly. All the effects, scenary, and characters came together to make this Harry Potter collage [or movie, so to speak]. The bottom line is....this movie is one of the most spectacular movies of all time! I highly recommend that you should buy this movie. All I have to say is that this movie is timeless! BUY IT! IT'S WORTH IT THE MONEY!!!

Summary: Not as good as books, but still great
Review: In every case the books are always better than the movies: more details, a few more characters, and a little more.

When I first heard the Harry Potter movie was coming out, I didn't really want to see it, because it could totally rearrange your ideas of what you think everything looks like. With this story, most people have different opinions. I wasn't going to see it at all, but a ton of my friends saw it and said it was awesome. So finally over Christmas vacation I saw it. (Or winter vacation for people who don't celebrate Christmas) It REALLY suprised me. I thought the movie was so cool, and a lot better than they show on the commercials. Of course there were a lot of details left out, like Norbert was hardly in the story. Special effects were pretty good though.

Like I said, the books are always better, but if you love the books, and didn't see the movie, then I recommend that you see it when it comes out on video.

Summary: Even this Lord Of The Rings fan was impressed!
Review: First, I would like to say that I am a fan of The Lord Of The Rings and had never read the Harry Potter books. But since there had been so much praise for Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone I got out of my way to read the book and then see the movie at the theater. This movie is wonderful and is faithful to about 80% of the book. The acting performances from Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson (yes, I admit it, she is cute) are superb, and it made me feel like a kid watching the movie. And I also found the Quidditch game very entertaining, as well as the wizard chess. And who ever heard of (or seen) a three-headed dog? J.K. Rowling has an amazing imagination to come up with stuff like this.
And the food that magically appears in one of the early scenes....all the students sit down at the table and they're talking and then a moment later....voila, the food appears. I know this movie was released before Thanksgiving, but how come all the students at Hogwarts gets to eat such delicious food? I mean, the students were eating turkey, cornbread stuffing, pizza, chilled monkey brains....what about us? We were starving, too, and we should've had some of that food magically appear in the theater, as a reward for seeing this movie!

Summary: Harry Potter
Review: This is a great movie based on a novel that's almost as good as Grimm Reality by Hale and Bucher-Jones, my all time favorite book. I like it as much as Neverending Story or the Baum Oz books. The director usually stinks. He even managed to mess up Bicentenial Man from Assimov. This time a miracle happened and the movie is good.

Summary: THE BEST BRITISH FILM EVER!
Review: i am from England and so i am very protective of any film made in England. I have seen both versions of the film "Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone"(the title JK Rowling gave it) and "Harry Potter and the Sourcers stone". I thought they were both excellent and throughly deserved all the amazing reviews it was given. I will be queuing to get the video when it is released on May 11th (English release date) and will be standing in line to see "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" when that is released on november 16th. I feel very proud that Britian has a last produced a great film for children and adults alike.

Summary: The Great One
Review: It is very well portrayed and covers almost the whole book. I think it is just great. The Wizard of Oz of its time.

Summary: IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!
Review: Maybe it is just because i am a fan of the books, but I thought this movie was great. And all the extra DVD specials make the movie even better.

Summary: Darn near perfect kid's movie!
Review: I am a 37 year old pastor and had never read any of the books. I knew there was a following of rabid fans, but hadn't gotten around to them yet myself. I LOVED this film. It perfectly captured the feel, wonder, magic and life of Harry Potter. It made me feel like a kid again. Too many kid's movies are dark, or have a hint of sex or profanity thrown in. This one was kid friendly. And the extreme right-winger's (who haven't seen it) are the only ones complaining of the the dangers of this movie. (Remember how bad the force in Star Wars was supposed to be?) It is chock-full of innocent fun. I could watch it again and again.

Summary: Daniel rules!
Review: Daniel Radcliffe plays the biggest part in this movie. He is sooooooooo good at it too!
