Summary: Pure sci-fi
Review: Well, it's one of the best sci-fi movies of the past years and Spielberg redeemed himself after A.I.. The story is good, photography is really neat, and the film just grasps you attention. If you're a sci-fi fan this is a must have.

Summary: AWESOME!!
Review: ****************************************************************This is one of my FAVORITE movies!! It was totally AWESOME!! And anyone who thinks otherwise, booyah to you. "Minority Report" is set in the future (2046- I think!!). John Anderton's young son was murdered and they never caught who did it. He lives in pain with his son's memory and what he could've done to save him. So he puts his whole faith into this idea of "precrime". There are three pre-cogs who get visions of murders that will happen in the soon-to-be future. They alert the police officers of the murder. (Anderton is an officer) Then the police have about 36 hours to figure out everything. They see what the pre-cogs see in their dreams. They use these as clues. Then one day, someone frames Anderton. He's on the run.
The events that follow are S*U*S*P*E*N*S*E*F*U*L* and creepy. Although I do admit I saw some of these things coming, I still enjoyed it and "Minority Report" is one of my fav's!! ****************************************************************

Summary: This REPORT is WASTing ur TIME...
Review: If u watch this 136+min report, u are wasting ur time. I totally agree TAO's comment: "The theatrical trailer is all that you've seen." and, it's no any new idea... If u like CG/SFX, I recommend: "Johnny Mnemonic" - the VR Interface of computer.
"Red Planet" ------ the Transparent displayer of computer.
"Lost in Space" --- the Cyber-Spider. Finally, again, this movie is ..., it's a ... Report.

Summary: Dreamworks can't make a 5 star film
Review: They always go a little too far to please everyone. Like Gladiator, they have to complicate an otherwise top-notch action thriller with family issues that belong elsewhere. The mystery angle is kind of fun but eventually degrades into a complicated excuse to evade the ending. It's still an incredibly stylish film, with Tom Cruise and others doing some real powerful work. It's hard not to be moved by Samantha Morton's performance as Agatha. Okay, she made me cry. Very compelling. Spielberg is good at pulling heartstrings, but eventually he goes too far. "There was so much love in this house . . ." Please. And of course, she's pregnant again--they're gonna have a baby! He should have seduced Agatha instead, have her pick up the apartment a little. But alas, that was his wife's home, so guess what. Hey man, when the milk goes bad, you don't put it back in the fridge and hope for the best. Talking about milk in the fridge--Tom scarfing down that gruesome sandwich with a moldy milk chaser was a total pleasure. The technological backdrop is simply awesome, but script-wise, this film is complicated in ways it doesn't need to be. They spent too much money to judiciously edit it, I suppose. Still, you'll be blown away most of the time--the production design and effects people went all out with a monster bankroll. It's a first-rate addition to the sci-fi genre for about 90% of the film. The other 10% belongs on the Lifetime channel.

Summary: Great movie but...
Review: Another great movie from Steven Spielberg - this time a sci-fi that talks about precrime. Imagine a world that has no crime. Before a crime occurs, special cops are there to catch you and thus no crime for 6 years. Wow! How would be a world without crime and war? It is a fantasy only I guess. The subject of the movie is a very interesting topic and the movie goes well until it falls into the usual formula of setting up and the plot. The screenplay is awful that we feel boring many a time during the movie. Looks like Spielberg did not bother about it instead concentrated on the special effects. Besides this there are lot of loopholes in the movies that questions the logic. We cannot leave them aside as this is not a James Bond movie - this is Spielberg's. But what holds the audience is the extravaganza of what all typically we can expect in another 50 years - Transparent Monitors, Keyboard-less Mouse-less Browsing, Electronic Newspapers, Rounded Cars, Security Check through Retina Scan, Flying humanbeings, Artificial Spiders that do the security job, Customized shopping experience... all we could expect over time. A special applause to Steven Spielberg. Only he could do it. Unlike other sci-fi movies that tell about unrealistic and unimaginable, Spieldberg talks about a realistic future. Adding to the above are the excellent photography and background music and the dialog "Everybody runs" - class apart. On a whole the movie is enjoyable if you forgive certain aspects. Nothing notable to comment about Tom Cruise' performance.

Summary: Minority Quality
Review: I was disappointed by this movie. Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell were not able to do their best work here. The story at first sounded interesting. You have certain people who could see future events before they happened, these people were called precogs or precognitives. Murder was the only event they could see according to the movie. So much for robbery and kidnapping which are the most frequently committed crimes compared to murder. Well, maybe not kidnapping that's even more rare. Of course, kidnapping is an important factor in Minority Report because John Anderton (Tom Cruise) suffers with a broken heart and a broken life due to the loss of his son. His son was kidnapped about six years ago. The kidnapper was never found. Precogs are useless in these types of crimes. John's wife leaves him and he lives in a technologically cold world of precrime work and loneliness. Colin Farrell plays a Dept. of Justice agent who is assigned to investigate any flaws in the system. The precogs are kept in an isolated chamber in a pool. Their brains are hardwired to a computer and their thoughts are downloaded into the computer's database for the police to use. The idea of downloading a person's thoughts is obviously not possible since we don't have software in our brains. Our brains are only hardware. But there is the idea of "suspension of disbelief" when watching fictionalized stuff. The precogs of course predicted that John would commit murder and he's off on a Mission Impossible like escape. This movie is MI:3 with a more interesting premise. Of course about halfway into the movie I started feeling like a precog myself. I was able to predict down to the last twisting detail who was doing what and how it all would end. I guess I am a precognitive too... Watch this movie realizing that it's MI:3 to a certain extent and that the precogs in the movie are not the only precogs that know how the movie will end. If you like Tom Cruise think about possibly watching this movie. Otherwise read the short story.

Summary: Good, but not epic
Review: I enjoyed "Minority Report" a lot, but it wasn't exactly the epic masterpiece that everyone has lead me to believe it is. The movie peers into the future, where an experimental program in DC called "PreCrime" has reduced the the murder rate to almost nothing. Basically, psychics known as "Pre-Cogs" can see murders before they happen, sometimes days, sometimes only hours. A group of cops then arrest the murderer before they kill and place them in a special chamber where they are put in stasis. The problem is that one of the Pre-Cogs sees Tom Cruise killing someone he doesn't even know, so he has just a few days to figure out who this person is and why he's going to kill him. Cruise is very good in this movie. He really does a nice job playing a character who's beliefs are shattered and who now has to try and disprove the very system he has staunchly defended. The other actors in this movie are also excellent and very nicely convey the storyline and the emotions involved in it. The picture of the future that Spielberg paints is not quite as fantastic as it was in "AI", but it still is interesting to see. My favorite is how street ads and computers in stores can scan your eyes and pitch things to you by using your name. It sort of shows how public our information is becoming. The other effects are also very well done, although you'd think the machine that the Pre-Cogs feed their visions into would do more than carve names into two balls of wood, but I digress. My main problem with this movie is that it gets too preachy at points in an effort to convey the message of "innocent until proven guilty". There's a scene where Cruise is giving a government official a tour of the base and they get into a huge philosophical debate, even bringing the Bible into the mix. Later scenes are similar and sometimes make you feel that you're watching a propoganda film. Otherwise, it's an entertaining movie with a few plotholes (like why is his ex-wife MIA for over half the movie and then suddenly become a major player), but, like I said, it's not the epic that some have portrayed it to be.

Review: I am a huge Speilberg fan, and i was very disappointed at this flick, i found my-self struggling to stay interested, the bottom line? It was to long, to long for its own good, i am glad i did not go see this in the movies, cause i would have for sure dozed off. The dvd set has great features on it, i guess if your a fan of Tom, you should get it, but i would recommend renting it first, then see if you want to buy it, cause it's defitnitley not a film you'll watch over and over again.IMO

Summary: Nicely done.
Review: With Spielberg and Cruise together, you can't go wrong. And they didn't. A very cool idea about crime fighting. It is the year 2054 and there is a new kind of law enforcement in D.C. called "Precrime" law enforcement. With the help of what they call "precogs", they can see a crime before it happens and stop it, and then they can arrest and put away the assailant. Tom Cruise is Captain John Arderton. Using the precrime system, "wooden" balls are formed with the victims name on it. Holding these balls in his hands using a virtual reality type system, he can see what the precogs see and determine the time, place, and who the killer is. During one of these runs, he see's himself comitting a murder. He starts running to keep out of prison and to find out who set him up, if he indeed was setup. Along the way, he finds out about something called the "Minority Report" which is a report that is filed when one of the three "precogs" has a different image of the crime than the other two. And the only way to get this report is to back to the police station and download it directly from the "precog" that had the other image. The problem is, all over the town and in almost every building, there are eye scanners that track everyone and can alert the authorities as to where any person is. The storyline was very imaginative and very well done. The special effects and action are awesome. This movie will take you on one hell of a ride and keep you on the edge of your seat as you can't wait to see what happens at the end.

Review: Most movies set in the future are extremely hokey in my opinion, but not this movie. As the production notes state, Spielberg wanted believable and conceivable ideas for the future. That is what makes this movie fun to watch. The only thing wrong with this movie is the whole "pre-cog" thing... 3 people sitting in water can predict the future cos of some experimental drug? Still a very entertaining movie to say the least. It will keep you interested the whole way through. At least this futurist Spielberg movie is more fun to watch then the snoozefest A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
