Review: One of the best sci-fi films I've ever seen. Although confusing in parts, it's still a very clever film and Arnie is brilliant in it. I lost track at how many times the 'F' word was used in this film. It made me laugh as well as there is mild humour involved. The plot is hard to explain, it's best to see it for yourself.

Review: always have, always will. This was one of Arnold's better films. I especially like how they show the mutants that are deformed from not enough air. Alot of other movies don't pay attention to details like that - they just assume that we'll settle somewhere and there will be no problems.

Review: As a long time science fiction fan, when I saw this movie in the theater I didn't really care for it. It didn't make sense. Yes, the special effects, and the action sequences were great, but the *story* didn't make sense...Other reviewers have either missed the point alltogether (every one of the 'editorial' reviewers) or didn't catch on. The whole Mars/Secret Agent thing *is* all in his head! NOW THE MOVIE MAKES PERFECT SENSE, AND I LOVE IT! With DVD you can stop, and re-view the telltale signs/clues that tell you it's not 'real' but 're-call'

Summary: great movie, HORRIBLE dvd.
Review: I'm not a big video geek, and before when I saw people complaining about a horrible dvd transfer, I chalked it up to little details I couldn't see. *This* I could see. I liked _Total Recall_ the first time I saw it, and it is still a good movie. However the film quality on this DVD is really grainy and the color was off -- like they mastered it from a five year old video that had seen wind and weather. Just get the video.

Summary: One of the best Sci-Fi movies
Review: This is one of the best Sci-Fi movie ever made. It is very different from the other American movies with the "happy end". The main hero (Arnold Schwarzenegger) has already lost from the very beginning, since he is either dreaming or his mentality was artificially created by the "bad guys". Even when it's over it is still not certain was it for real or "just a dream". The special effects are very good, but they are not in the focus (like in the "Star Wars"), they are supportive and to the point, just as much as it's needed. This is one of the best Schwarzenegger's works. Another good thing about the movie is that Sharon Stone gets killed right in the middle :)

Review: Paul Verhoeven started as a pornographer in Europe and he has not changed at all. Not surprisingly he has flourished in today's Hollywood. Total Recall is a putrid mess that is designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator on every possible level. To call this thing a Science Fiction film and therefore place it on the same level as Planet of the Apes or Destination Moon or even The Giant Claw is obscene as the thing itself. The thing completely embraces the nihilist philosophy of Communism. Humans are disposable trash. There is no good nor evil, just the right idealogy. Mass murder is only bad depending on whose side you're on. Life is death. To be fair, verhoeven IS consistent. Everything that he has made, from FLesh and Blood, up to his blasphemy of Heinlein's Starship Troopers has had the same stench of hell. To think that this is what American film has degenerated into.

Summary: Not perfect. but very good. Almost best Arnold film.
Review: This is an absolutely mind-blowing science-fiction story. Sure there's a lot of violence, but most of it is actually not gratuitous. The mutant subplot is a great commentary on racism. And while the sci-fi mumbo-jumbo gets a little thick and impklausible sometimes, that's just what kind of movie this is. The fact that the plot is simply incomprehensible to many has its roots in the movie's basis in a story by twisted genius Philip K. Dick. The ending is typical in that it leaves the watcher wondering just what is real. Anyway, the movie has a lot of cool clever *** like the bug up Quaid's nose, and the man sent to convince Quaid that he has been dreaming the whole time. I also liked Quaid's disguise with the exploding head, and the fight with the holograms. This is one of the few movies I don't mind watching repeatedly, and I'd recomend it to be at least worth a look, no matter how much you hate sci-fi.

Review: This movie is top notch. GREAT and ORIGINAL story that will grap you in the first 20 minutes. After that it is non-stop action. A must see for sci-fi and action movie lovers!

Summary: Logic Melt-down on Mars
Review: Paranoid, lurid, violent, sensationalistic junk! But definitely worth a viewing. Not for the squeamish, but it has its moments - Ahnuld watching himself on the laptop telling himself who he really is; the Sharon Stone-Rachel Ticotin cat fight; and those typical Arnie one-liners -"Consider this a divorce!", and so on. But story line is confusing, as is identities of some of the characters, and just what is tribidium, anyway? Got to hand it to Director Verhoeven, though, who proves that you cannot underestimate the tastes (or intelligence) of the movie-going public - "Starship Troopers", "Showgirls", "Basic Instinct", and so on. Arnold brings this one above the others.
