Summary: A romantic futuristic movie.
Review: This is the most romantic science finction movie I have ever seen. The film ends with a basic principle, If I can think I exist... now if someone agrees or disagrees with this view is not the point here. If someone sees for the first time this movie must grab the romantic part of this movie out of the special effes. A great movie, and a must in someones collection!

Summary: What others are based
Review: One of the best movies of this century. This movie defines what science fiction films after would be like. Ford, like Indie, and Solo is in a role written for him. This is truly a cult classic, to be placed on the shelf next to Kubrick, and others like it. I enjoy this movie more and more each time I see it. A great soundtrack, and dazzleing special effects share with Ford, and Hannah's performances. I highly reccomend this to any Sci-fi fan.

Summary: The director's cut of Blade Runner is a masterpiece.
Review: The spectacular imagery of the original version was what grabbed my attention the first time I saw this film. With the narration removed and the ending revised this has become a true classic. The DVD version is highly recommended. The images (new DVD player, older TV) were flawless from beginning to end. Too often spectacular sets overwhelm the story, but this is a sci-fi movie with heart.

Summary: Great Movie, Poor Reproduction
Review: This is a great story made into a great movie with great actors by a great director, and then put out on a poor-quality DVD. Why?

Rutger Hauer steals this movie. His lines are non-stop poetry of the highest order. His musings on mortality and the transitory nature of art and experience elevate this film to sublime levels. As Tyrel points out, his light has burned so very bright, indeed.

Summary: Good movie, Poor DVD Quality
Review: Once again, Warner Studios' mass production of a great movie on DVD is poor in quality. Two different copies of this movie both display audio/vidio sync problems halfway through the movie. I have experienced this on other Warner Studio releases but NOT with any other DVD source. I won't buy the product if it is released by Warner Studios... very disappointing!

Summary: Simply the best
Review: My favorite movie of all time. I can't believe this was done in the early 80's...the technology (to me) is competable with that of this decade. The acting is superb. The story is fantastic. The music fits perfectly and the lonely atmosphere of the futuristic LA sends chills down your spine. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS FANTASTIC MOVIE!!!

Summary: one of the best films ever made
Review: the special effects alone are enough reason to watch this masterpiece

Summary: Who needed a voice-over?
Review: After having loved the first release with the Harrison Ford voice-over, this DVD Director's Cut edition amazed me even further. The absence of the running commentary allows the movie to be even more moody, more poignant, and allows the actors to take center stage. It was wonderful not being told what was going on, who was thinking what, and how I was supposed to feel. It felt like a real work of art where each viewer is allowed to take away what they want. Buy the DVD and throw away the VHS version.

Summary: A movie that took sci-fi a step the right direction
Review: A viewer from Northern California once described this movie as "an empty bag", much like the blob extention this critic wears on the neck. This movie is truly a step forward in the sci-fi genre, adding depth and value to something that could have stayed at plastic aliens shooting laser beams at eachother. Luckily our friend - the bag brained critic - belongs to a minority, proven by the high score in the imdb database.

Summary: Compared to the original motion picture, this was horrible
Review: The first "Blade Runner" was so good, especially with the story being told by Harrison Ford. The director's cut did not include this and much of the story is missed. Also, there was a scene with a unicorn...quite bizarre. If you get the original motion picture in stock, let me know as soon as possible because this one (the Director's Cut) was a waste of money.
