Summary: One Great Movie
Review: I liked this movie for several reasons, but first and formost I liked Chris Tucker as Ruby the radio DJ.This is one of those movies that you can watch again and again and it still makes you laugh even though you know what's comming.I also liked the sets and the computer graphics, & clothing. The writing was excellent and the actors themselves was great... Gary Oldman is one of my most favorite top 5 actors and I thought he was just brillant, I just can't say enough about his performance. This is a movie worth buying and watching again and again.

Summary: Another silly movie for smart people
Review: This is one of those films like Buckaroo Banzai or Big Trouble in Little China that you either get or don't. The whole movie is magnificently over the top and like the other two titles I mention, you can watch it over and over and over. A wonderful ridiculous farce with arguably a more intricately developed world than Lucas' original Star Wars -- incredible depth and all terribly, terribly, silly. This film is green and I mean super-green, dig?

Review: who would buy a Bruce Willis movie and demand a good plot ??? Just power up your Stereo, lean back and let the action blow you away!!

Summary: A monumental folly
Review: The film can only be described as a mess. If ever the term "style over content" applies, it is to The Fifth Element.

The acting is atrocious throughout. Milla Jovovich walks about in a daze (and the conceit of Luc Besson casting his girlfriend as "the perfect being" is obvious). Another reviewer stated that "Gary Oldman...as usual, is magnificent". The only suprise about Oldman (who spits out a succession of terrible clichéd lines) in this film is that someone manages to be camper than him. Namely, Chris Tucker. Screaming like a girl once is, perhaps, amusing. Doing it for 2 hours really starts to GRATE. Ian Holm looks embarressed by the whole thing, while Tricky proves why he didn't get any more acting gigs after this.

Art directed to within an inch of it's life, this film is only for those who have a interest in unfeasiable fashion styles and/or idiotic sub-comic book childish idiocy.

Summary: Not one, or two, or three or four, but FIVE stars!
Review: I love this movie. Thought it was great in the theater and it is great on DVD. I can watch this one over and over again and not get tired of it, even though I can recite almost every single line in the movie. The story is killer and the action flows from the first minute to the last. Bruce Willis, Milla Jojovich and Gary Oldman all give great performances, but Chris Tucker steals the show. His performance as Ruby Rhod is absolutely hysterical.

The special effects have an almost comic book feel to them, and I think they are really cool. The only disappointment with this DVD is that the special features are lacking. Other than that I would highly recommend this as an excellent addition to your DVD collection.

Summary: Typical formulaic garbage.
Review: If your not a fan of good sci-fi and are extremely bored then you'll probably like the flash and stupid comedy of this worthless piece of tripe. The only bright spot in this mess is Gary Oldman who, as usual, is magnificent. The plot is as predictable as an episode of "Laverne and Shirley" and just about as annoying. It just proves the theory that the time is past when movies could stand on special effects alone. Don't bother.

Summary: GREAT FOR A SCI-FI MOVIE
Review: This movie was awesume from beginning to end. Bruce Willis is excellent in the different action scenes. I loved the way he put comedy into some of the different scenes. Chris Tucker was hilarious as Ruby. I also liked the futuristic view. For example, the flying cars were neat. I loved the police chase. All in all, this movie has everything you could ask for: action, romance, comedy, good story, and great special effects. My complaments on a great movie and I would reccomend it to anyone.

Summary: SUPERFLUOUS
Review: At best, Milla Jovovich is cute here. Bruce Willis is doing what he does best... acting heroically in next to impossible circumstances. And Gary Oldman, well, we have all seen him in better performances as better villains virtually disappearing into his roles. He does not succeed in doing that here. The plot is not necessary to elaborate upon. It is superfluous. This film is not worth your time.

Summary: Excellent sci fi movie
Review: This movie has everything you ask for a sci-fi movie.... action, humor and special effects well integrated.
The plot is really cool, and Ruby is something else... I couldn't stop laughing at the theatre....

The DVD is well done, but lacks of special features, it's great it has spanish dub and sub, a DVD is suppoused to have those options.... It's single layer... I don't like that much, but it isn't a problem.

So, if you like sci-fi movies, this must be in your collection.

Summary: Love this movie- has an amazing eclectic soundtrack
Review: Everyone has a movie shown on HBO or Cinemax that, everytime it plays, they end up watching. Mine is "The Fifth Element". I simply never get tired of this flick! The casting is brilliant (I'm a die hard Gary Oldman fan, so perhaps I'm biased)and Luc Besson's direction is marvelous. A great Sci-Fci kind of movie for people who may not be into that kind of genre. Also stars Chris Tucker ("Friday", "Rush Hour")as Ruby Rod, an over-the-top cosmic radio DJ. The soundtrack is amazing and features a vast international buffet of recording artists. Yum! One for the personal video library.
