Summary: Damn Good Movie
Review: The Fifth Element is a fun movie you can't take it too seriously, or you're stupid. Bruce Willis is the most Badass Mofo in the history of filmmaking, and Mila Jovovich is, well lets just put it this way, if she wanted to, I would marry her right this very second without having ever spoken a word to her, or knowing a thing about her. If you enjoy action, appreciate great actors like Bruce Willis, and like looking at beautiful women, this is a movie you must see.

Summary: Surprisingly good!
Review: I saw this at the movies not expecting much, boy was I surprised. The cinematography is wonderful, I loved the use of color in the film. The special effects were very well done. This movie was very entertaining and I love the fact that it does'nt take itself too seriously.

Summary: Surprisingly good!
Review: When I first heard about this movie, I said "no way!" but I got to see it for free at the theatre. I liked it! I was more surprised than anyone about this but this film really is good. The set design, special effects and the way the film does'nt take itself too seriously (which would of killed it) are great.

Summary: Terrific
Review: Perhaps I gave this film a high rating because it is the kind of film that I enjoy. But boy did I enjoy it. If you like action/adventure/sci-fi/comedy, you will like this film. If you are a die-hard Bruce Willis fan, you will like this film. Of all the films that I have seen him in -- this is one of them. That's all you need. Outstanding performance by Gary Oldman as you guessed it - the bad guy. Milla Jovovich is captivating as our love-interest/supreme being who will eventually save the world. Numerous fine supporting performances by an all-star cast make this a great movie to watch. The pace seems a little slow in the beginning but it ends with a bang. Visual effects are great. Wish I had seen this one in the theatre.

Summary: Mind-Bending Fantasy
Review: While the underlying message is serious, the Fifth Element is a fantastic movie because it knows how to have fun. The movie basically consists of four pieces: a perfect musical score, fantastic characters, beautiful sets, and a divine sense of humor. The movie takes its evil characters way over the top, and keeps the goofy parts right in line. But with the perfect pace and fantastic editing, you don't even care. The overdone characters are fun to watch, and every viewing brings something new. Highly recommended for anyone who is willing to take their Sci-Fi with a pinch of humor.

Summary: Oh my gosh
Review: This movie is quite possibly the coolest movie I have ever seen, save The Matrix. Both dont let me confuse you, its nothing like the Matrix. Bruce Willis gives a great performance as a man who is forced to gather the 5 elements in order to save the planet. While that sounds like any other movie you may have seen, its not. in the words of Owan Glieberman of Entertainment Weekly "This film is primed to explode. This is the RIDE." it's constantly in your face, with fresh, funny dialouge. Gary Oldman is great in a strange role, and the pales in comparison to Chris Tucker. Forget Rush Hour, THIS is his break-out performance. he is Awesome in this movie, playing a talk-show host who has a penchant for wearing dresses and crazy hair doos. I've seen this movie countless times, and its still awesome. With a great plot, and an awesome cast (once again: Bruce Willis, Ian Holm, Gary Oldman, Milla jovovich, Chris Tucker) you can't go wrong. Very Highly Recommended.

Summary: A Modern Sci-fi Masterpiece and my second favorite movie.
Review: Back in 1997, i saw this in the theater and i was outstanded by this fantastic and amazing movie beyond anything i've seen in sci-fi ( including ID4, Matrix, Total Recall, and Stargate). The story is set in the future of New York, it deals with a Cabbie named " Korben Dallas" ( Bruce Willis) who unwillingly finds a beautiful Alien named " Leeloo" ( Milla Jovocvic) in his cab and discovers that she is the Key and only person to save mankind from a devastating force. Amazing, outstanding, Flawless, perfect, and has everything to satisfy a Sci-fi lover's taste in Movies and in Action, the second best Movie i've seen in my existance.

A must see for fans of Sci-fi, Fantasy, Surrealism, foreign films and action.

Recommendations: Independence Day, Men in Black, Blade Runner, Stargate, Heavy Metal, Total Recall, The Running Man, The Matrix, Dune, City of Lost Children, The Rock and The Mummy ( 1999 version).

Summary: Excellent Originality
Review: It is within this review that I would like to express my thoughts on what I consider a wonderful and original movie. I have watched this movie numerous times, and I get the same impression each time. Rather than go through a step by step analysis of the movie's storyline, I would like to just point out the simplistic and rather insightful expressions of human nature that can be found within this movie. First, we find, what I would call, the most powerful form of love. To illustrate, we are introduced to the main character, Corbin Dallas, who's a man struggling with an internal conflict consisting of having to save the world while trying to discover the true power of love itself. Conincidentally, that struggle will later be solved through him both finding his love of another human being and with that love saving the world. It is a very nice, simple, and creative way to express the law of love and goodness prevailing over the most potent evil. Second, I would like to give a brief interpretation of the movie's portrayal of the ugliness found within the act of violence against ourselves. Throughout the movie, we see that human nature provides a source of deep despair that can overwhelm even the most complex being, namely a supreme being named "Leeloo." During one moment, Leeloo is learning about human beings through computer when she finally types in the word, "war", to see what it means. It is at this point that I believe that the storyline starts to really pick up the essence of both the sympathy she has for the human race as a result of our pety struggles with violence and war and the total sadness that can be found within our own destruction, namely with nuclear war. The soundtrack also plays a vital role in really emphasizing the sadness that can really plague the human race. I also think the soundtrack really gives a huge lift to the impact some of the more entertaining and explosive scenes. Finally, I would like to give thumbs up to the creative way that Luc Besson managed to really give a feel to his thoughts of human nature while maintaining a storyline that could be nothing short of amazing.

Summary: simply amazin'
Review: people, just let go of rating every movie like its up for the oscars...this movie was just over the top, graphical and sound madness. The dvd is a definite must own for the home theater fan, especially if you're running 5.1. For your home theater "virgin" friends, play this or the opening scene to Saving Private Ryan and then ask them for 6 bucks and thank them for coming. Seriously, the movie takes a Besson delusion of grandeur and instead of getting all huffy about love saving the world, makes it funny and worth watching again and again. The characters are caricatures, and each one is funny and amazingly creative on Besson's part. The acting wasn't "american beauty," but come on if you still respect Empire Strikes..after you saw Mark's reaction to hearing Darth is his dad; well you can stand this. Buy the DVD, sit back and enjoy this guilty sensory pleasure.

Summary: First trully good mind candy from hollywood in years.
Review: Movies like this are sadly rare and far between these days. Too many movies are made that have terrible plots, and pain the viewer with directors desperate attempts to make hopeless materail work. This movie aviods this by celebrating a plot that is written at the level of a third grader, and rejoices in it. While the juvenile level of this materail keeps it from being truly great, I would rather see more movies like this one than more second rate attempts to remake American Pie.

The plot can never be taken seriously, a large black evil object coming to destoy earth sounds like stories some of my elementary school classmates made up. The acting in this movie is hardly moving, but they aviod the rampant overacting that has ruined many movies like this one. What make this movie a little bit more than good, is the visual creation and special effects that was created. The world that they created is spectacular. Everything from the flying cars to the costume design is simply brilliant. I found the visial effects to be the best I have seen since star wars. This movie shows how an orginall world making can make even a truly medicore story into somthing much better.
