Summary: This one is worth your Money
Review: I have seen this movie over and over about 25+ times and I feel this is one of the best movies ever. Another movie that I feel matches close to this is Last Of The Mohicans. This movie is great because there is a lot of action and killings. The storyline is not like others that are so obvious. This one has to probably be the best movie ever.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Satirical. But still not that great.
Review: Okay. Starship Troopers is a parody of a war film, about a quasi-facist future Earth in which people's lives are confetti, and duty to the state is everything. The point is nicely made, but just isn't enough for a fairly long movie. Which is what causes the problems.

Because after about half an hour, Verhoeven suddenly realises, "Drat, I'm stuck with this now." And the film deteriorates into a pretty silly special-effects showcase. Entertaining, but mindless. And the satirical point is at risk, because when the film ends, you've forgotten how it began.

Nice touches include stunning SFX and clever casting, wherein gorgeous, ridiculously handsome models get torn up by ugly bugs, thus parodying the action movie type. But soon enough Starship Troopers has BECOME what it parodies. Shame, because for a while it was really onto something.

Summary: You have to be kidding
Review: As a movie, this one ranks right up there with the Blair Witch Project. Until I saw Star Ship Troopers, I thought "This Island Earth" was the benchmark for bad science fiction.

Summary: Something Different
Review: Starship Troopers is an enjoyable venture. Verhoeven proves his place is in Sci/Fi. This movie has a great satirical script, mind boggling CGI, superb sets and killer costume design. The DVD has phenomonal sound and picture quality. Complete with your moneys worth of special features its a good addition to any Sci/Fi collection.

Summary: Literally Lost in Space
Review: I'm amused by all the four & five stars. You people are more entertaining than the movie. I'll just get some popcorn and read over 300-some "starry-eyed" reviews. This movie is such a masterpiece, it should be on a twin bill with Morons from Outer Space, except that one was meant to be a B movie.

Summary: Underestimated, exciting, but a little too long.
Review: Some people seem to have a serious eye-problem. They actually think that Verhoeven made a sort of fascist propaganda-movie with Starship Troopers. Well, if this is propaganda, then it is going about its business in a very strange way. Starship Troopers does not show a wonderful future inhabited by Neo-Nazis. It shows a very unpleasant, but quite believable future inhabited by people who have progressed along a path that brought Liberalism back to a society that gave up personal freedom in favour of personal safety (a bit like Stallone's Demolition Man) This safety gets to be guaranteed my a militaristic Social Elite. Not a very pleasant prospect, but it would not be the first time and Verhoeven has shown it in a very effective way by using models instead of actors for a large number of roles. Now this does not have much to do with Robert Heinlein's book, which took a different point of view of a similar looking, but completely different idea of a society. If we forget about Heinlein and about moral issues Starship Troopers is a great looking, spectacular action-movie. The one problem I find with Starship Troopers is the length. It is simply too long. At the endmy attention began to wander. If you really want to enjoy this movie, watch the first half, stop the tape and go on the next day. You probably will not do much sleeping, but what the hell. It is fun!

Summary: Visual Effects At It Best.
Review: Director Paul Verhoeven does a great job making this film and he also does homage to RoboCop, you know what i mean, once you see it. Visual Effects is the best thing about this film. Phil Tippet does a great also superb job at it. The cast is good on this film and Actress Denise Richards has a great look, body and her face also. Dina Meyer for her tough look and she also a good looking actress.

DVD`s has an sharp anamorphic Widescreen(1.85:1)transer and an strong Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround. Included:An fine running commentary track by the filmmakers. Grade:A-.

Summary: A fast-paced action extraordinaire
Review: We all know that this isn't one of those movies to be nominated for academy awards, but sometimes we need a break from Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, and Robert DeNiro. Just kick back and enjoy futuristic battles between man and arachnid. One of the things I liked was that the bad-a**, macho, head-on invasion failed and the humans had to actually think and plan in order to win. This one goes on the shelf with "5th Element" and "Alien Resurrection".

Summary: It's good fun, just enjoy it.
Review: I have read the book, and I have seen the film rather a lot of times. I feel that the film perfectly complements the book - it is a purely entertaining adaptation of several parts in the book. Whilst the novel concerns itself with the morals of warfare and touches upon such topics as fascism and domestic discipline, the movie concentrates on character and storyline. There are very few action sequences in the book and the majority of it takes place during training. The film expands the storyline in both directions, showing the characters before their enrollment, and after their graduation and whilst the acting isn't especially Shakespearean, it is most definitely suited to the style that Verhoeven has chosen - tongue in cheek and all out fun. The direction, I think, is very good - very few directors would direct this story this way - the sound effects and music are spot on and the Bugs are still some of the scariest produced so far. The film IS gory but in the most part, the violence is never gratuitous - this IS a war film! The end of the movie sets itself up for sequels - I hope this never happens, Starship Troopers is a stand-alone masterpiece.

Summary: The Acting is more hideous than the bugs!
Review: The acting was just terrible! They completely destroyed the book. One thing I think stinks about the movie is the fact that the weaponry looks like world war II stuff. Is this movie supposed to be about the future?
