Summary: A killer plot with an amazing twist!
Review: I absolutely loved every minute of this exciting and spine tingling movie. The plot is sensational and very engaging. I felt as though at any moment Morphious and Trinity would bust into the theatre. The special effects topped the movie off to create an unusually real feeling. Being able to tell from experience, seeing as I have viewed this film 3 times, that it is better understood and no less exciting to see this winner several times, I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a little thrill in life.

Review: I absolutly loved this movie because of the science fiction action. The movie was very intense and you have to be a person who can understand what your watching and be up and thinking at all times to like this movie. If you are a person who didnt like this movie, then you either dont like sci-fi movies, or you need to watch it several more time to understand it, because it's a movie where if you see it again and again, new things will always appear.

Review: I absolutly LOVED this movie! The special effects, the sounds, and ESPECIALLY the plot are the best I've ever seen. I watched this movie 3 times over when I rented it and I still can't get enough. I agree with anyone who says they wanted more at the end, and anyone who knows ANYTHING about a sequel better e-mail me.

Review: I agree that the matrix has stunning effects and action sequences. But when a movie tries to be philisophical like THE MATRIX and does it poorly, the movie is ruined. From my point of view the theme is terrible, so I don't like the movie. Would you give up your life to know "truth"? I know I wouldn't.

Summary: Great Movie; Lousy Commentary
Review: I agree with all the other reviewers who applaude this movie for its many unforgettable qualities. Yes, it is a sheer pleasure to watch. Yes, it brought to the screen moments never before seen. But............the commentary by the visual effects supervisor in particular was outrageously, beyond comprehension boring! Who's idea was it to let this guy leave his VE fortress and venture into the world of DVD commentary? Distastrous move. It destroyed what could have been, rather what SHOULD have been an extraodinary commentary on an extraordinary movie. Clearly, holding an audience's attention is NOT this guy's forte. Where were the Wachowski Brothers?? They were the ones I really wanted to hear from!

Summary: Bad Actor : Great Movie
Review: I almost didn't bother with this movie since it features my all-time least favorite actor, Keanu Reaves, but I was forced into going to the theater with family. I was impressed with the special effects and, even though slightly tired, the plot which was good. Definately one of the best movies of '99.

Summary: Honest Dissent
Review: I almost gave this movie three stars, but I just can't. Kudos to the filmmakers for having a little more imagination than most who attempt to bring science fiction to the screen, but to me this movie was stupid to the core, and all the balletic violence and the beautiful slow-motion fall of thousands of shell casings can't make up for the stupidity. From the absurd notion that human bodies are power sources (just ask a physicist to estimate the thermodynamic efficiency of human metabolic processes) to the Deus Ex Machina resolution (Keanu as Messiah - "He's the one!"), the noise and banality overwhelms what is original in this film. It is a visual feast, and the Oracle as cookie-baking Mom was fun, but I think this film is highly overrated.

Review: I always go for special effects, and The Matrix definately has special effects! Often, movie previews turn out to be better than the movie. Not so with this one. The action sequences are incredible. The directors use of stop action and slow motion action in combination really adds to the special quality of this movie. The characters are great.
