Summary: Fox fumbles again
Review: Don't get me wrong! Strange Days is a brilliant film!! But the studio releasing it is one of the most mindbogglingly stone-age cretins ever!

Non-anamorphic! Again a sell-out from Fox! When are they gonna learn?! Everybody agrees, that 16:9 IS the future, with HDTV and all, and even though todays DVD's do not support this format, they are still able to deliver a stunning 16:9 image, also on a HDTV. In other words: ready for the friggin future... But no. Fox bets on tapes! Unbelievable.

And while I'm at it: Anyone care to explain how it is possible for THX to be anything else than a moneymaking scheme on the home video market? They have no influense on the audio in your living room, and even if your components are all THX-certified, you can still place them wrong or live in a concrete bunker for all they know. A complete sham, and their willingness to certify a non-anamorphic title only makes it worse!

Shame on the lot of ya. I was going to buy strange days, but won't, now I know it's a Fox release. I'll get Heat instead from the guys who knows how to make quality DVD's, Warner!

Summary: Awesome "dark-horse" movie!!!
Review: Almost no one I talk to has seen this film, and I don't even remember it being at the theater. I rented it one day by luck, and have watched it at least seven times in three years. The sound on this movie is the best I have ever heard, and that was just VHS, I can't wait to hear 5.1 on the DVD. Simply fantastic action scenes, a love story, great music, and lots of whodunnit intrigue. This movie has it all.

Summary: GREAT TECHNO THRILLER!
Review: With technology advancing as fast as it is, and the millenium close at hand, this is a MUST SEE movie. If you are a Juilet Lewis or Angela Bassett fan, this is a MUST SEE Movie. If you like techno (The Matrix) type movies, this is a must see. YOU JUST MUST SEE IT!

Summary: GREAT FILM NOW ON DVD
Review: I was hoping that this great film would come out on DVD, and now I see it has, and will include a commentray by Ms. Bigelow, the director.

The virtual reality phenomeon is intriguing, of course, and this film how it can be used for good or evil (mostly evil).

There is a something else scene of a wild rock concert.

Ralph Fiennes has certainly redeemed himself after The Avengers. His portrayal of the purveyer of virtual reality discs is excellent.

Summary: Top Film!
Review: My second favourite film ever.

For me this movie is all about the redemption of Lenny Nero. I can relate to his fall from grace, his subsequent attempt to lose himself in the dark world he deals with and then his final redemption with Mace. The final moments of film from the shooting of the second corrupt police officer onwards never fails to genuinely move me, with the slow-mo and the soundtrack being used to admirable effect. The final explination of Jeriko One's demise. via the elusive clip, was genuinely shocking to me. Very well done.

The unveiling of the main criminal in the film's finale was well done. I DID NOT see it coming, and I must admit to hating reviewers who harp on about being able to see major plot twists from a mile away. Maybe I'm just dumb, but I rarely see them.

The visuals of LA on the brink of implosion were fascinating to me. I will find out the truth as I have booked my flights and accommodation and will be there for New Year. I'll post an update if I survive!

Mace was a well written strong female character and was a perfect role for Basset. I would not like to go up against that lady......

My only quibble with the film is Juliette Lewis. I confess that I have hated all the characters in all the films she has ever done, but Faith takes the biscuit. I am sure that the character was SUPPOSED to be whiney, narcissistic and annoying and she really turns in a performance which fulfills that to the hilt.

Also, as previous postings have said, the Peter Gabriel/Deep Forrest track over the closing credits is worth buying the soundtrack for. I did! What hasn't been mentioned is the use of the black and white stills at the beginning of the end credits. I think they are striking and their use is perfect. Does anyone know where I can get hold of good quality versions, either printed or electronic?

Summary: Crank it up! If you like it wild, you'll like Strange Days.
Review: It's a wild techno ride into virtual reality, drugs, murder, abuse of power, perversion and passion. It culminates at the wildest New Years party ever...The Millenium.

Don't miss Peter Gabriel's tune playing over the ending credits.

Summary: A violent, but thrilling "who-dunn-it" film set in real-time
Review: Although directed by Kathryn Bigelow, this movie was written by James Cameron and produced with Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment. As a result, Strange Days feels as though it was Cameron himself calling the shots behind the camera-lens. Lenny Nero (an incredible performance by Ralph Fiennes) is an ex-cop, kicked out of the LAPD, and now hustling 'clips,' recorded events of other peoples' lives, on the black market. When a 'wearer' (watch the movie, and you'll understand) of Nero, Iris, turns up crying and tells him she's being chased, the main story begins, and from there, it's a two-hour roller coaster ride of incredible drama, exceptional dialogue, and action sequences I've never seen before. From the intense singing of co-star Juliette Lewis to the final scene, this movie will leave even the most hardened movie watcher guessing! And if I've persuaded you enough, I urge you to try out the widescreen version of the movie, because standard format cuts out many important details; plus the THX sound is a great improvement in sound.

Summary: An Overlooked Masterpiece
Review: If you like Cyberpunk, if you like science fiction, or if neither of thise a killer story, this is the movie for you. Often overlooked and underrated, Strange Days is perhaps one of the best science fiction films to come out in the last ten years.

If you would like to see a good movie (a rare thing these days) by all means get this one. You will not be disappointed.

Summary: MIXED REVIEWS FOR STRANGE DAYS
Review: From the previous reviews from critics, it's another one of those "you either like it or hate it" movies ! Also, people are comparing it to Bladerunner; It will probably be another cult classic ? While the visuals and soundtrack are not as amazing or astounding as those of Bladerunner (not bad at all for a movie which came out in '82 before computer graphics) it still holds its own with a very innovative concept and story plot (almost a la pre-Matrix). The difference between Strange Days and Bladerunner is that while Bladerunner's story or plot was pretty thin, it's just the opposite with Strange Days. The same reversal goes for the special effects ( score one for Runner and barely anything for Days). Personally, I'm a sci-fi fanatic who gives this movie 3 stars ( after all its got some great actors in it)!

Summary: Absolutely Great
Review: Absolutely and Positively the best film I've ever seen in my life thus far. This film surges with greatness from it's pores all the way till the end. I recommend it to anyone, as it has a science fiction feel, a drama feel, and an action feel. Amazingly fantastic.
