Review: This is a great movie. A true triumph of the human spirit. Easily one of Ethan Hawkes best films. The DVD also contains some deleted seens that are pretty good.

Summary: Gattaca: A realistic, and scary future
Review: I have seen the movie Gattaca, and I have many things to say about it. First of all, this movie portrays that science "plays God" if we let technology go so far that we are living in a semi-communist world based on genetics. For example, people who are "invalids," or those who were not genetically enhanced before birth, and born "the old fashion way," shows how discriminatory perfectionists can be. People are way to obsessed with people being all they can be. Don't get me wrong. I think that it's great for everyone to have a purpose in life and live up to cure a disease or travel to mars, but discrimition is where the whole system goes to hell. This movie did an excellent job of portraying what actually might become of us if we litterally go through everything with a fine tooth comb, only to pick out invalids. We should learn from this movie to integrate the less fortunate with the not-so-fortunate, and that's how we can build a better world.

Summary: Moonwalking on Titan
Review: Guanine + Adenine + Thymine + Cytosine = Gattaca

The most intriguing use of a single white glove since Michael Jackson bemused us with his frictionless antics.

It looks as good as Kubrick's 2001 (without resorting to weightlessness), it sounds as good as The Piano (why wouldn't it--same ten-fingered composer), and only Hitchcock could match the suspense of the street-crossing scene. Let's hope this movie isn't as prophetic as it is smart, slick, and sumptuous.

Summary: One of the best ever
Review: Gattaca reminded me of a literary masterpiece with unfolding layers of symbolism that added meaning upon meaning. It's compelling story is married to remarkable cinematogrophy and wonderful acting. The scene of Jude Law struggling up a helix-like staircase, seemingly representing his struggle to live up to his genetic superiority, is stunning, as are countless other scenes. Truly one of the best films ever made in all the relevant categories.

Summary: Beautiful......
Review: ....and not just Uma Thurman. A simple tale gloriously executed and watchable. One of those 'must have' DVD's.

Buy it !

Summary: You must see this movie............just excellent.
Review: When you see this movie, don't expect big explosions, bright laser shots or hyper-space travelings. It is just one of the most intelligent, dramatic and interesting sci-fi movies I ever saw (5 times and counting). The roles of Law, Hawke and Thurman are perfectly played. This could bring you an idea of what could be the future if the ethic and moral barriers that controls the genetic experimentation fails. Leaving green light in search for "perfect" human conception.

Summary: a very smart movie
Review: Gattaca is one of the smartest sci-fi-movies of the year. It's also very stylish - and unfortunately sometimes pretty boring. But when you know that this is no 'Starship Troopers', you will have a great time. Jude Law is fantastic!

Summary: Totally awesome...
Review: I think that it is unfortunate that Gattaca did not receive the amount of press that it deserves. I had never heard of the movie until recently, and only by accident. I have seen the entire movie five times in the past two weeks. I have also purchased the wonderful soundtrack. It is truly an awesome piece of cinema that makes you think about the quality of our lives. The entire movie had an unreal amount of erotism and mystique that kept me glued to the screen. Ethan Hawke and Jude Law both were superb in their performances. I have gained a whole new respect for both of them. Uma was great also. I hope to purchase the DVD version of the film very soon. Everyone should see this movie and recommend it to a friend or two.
