Summary: A true sleeper masterpiece
Review: Though I was never interested in seeing this movie, I rented it, having nothing better to do on a friday night. This movie is with a rich in a creative, enchantingly dark plot, with impressive special effects. It is a true "good" movie. The special effects mixed in with the very talented actors (Rufus Sewell shines) a great script, and a twisted plot combine to make one great movie!

Summary: The Crow meets Bladerunner
Review: A lot like the Crow and Bladerunner, dark as a film noir movie ought to be. My only complaint is the overdramatic music. The visual effects are stunning, and the plot is very well written. A great movie all around.

Summary: Sarah Parker you suck
Review: To all those people who said this movie has no plot I feel great pity for your utter lack of imagination and ability to look past the story line to the criticisms it actually represents. YOu don't have to be a sci-fi fan to recognize the greatness of this film in its subtleties, grace and superior filming qualities. Plus, it does what few movies ask of any actors to do anymore and that is ACT! (when speaking of sci-fi movies) Plus it's great seeing this on DVD in its INTENDED FORMAT OF WIDESCREEN (I think all fit-to-format copies and broadcasts should be banned as heresy against the person's vision who created the movie... it's like cutting two inches off of any paper back novel from each side and saying that it can still make sense.) ANyways...good flick, the ending will blow you away. Surround sound helps.

Summary: The Best Film of the Past Five Years
Review: I'll make it simple: This is the best film I've seen in the last 5 years. It's brilliantly directed, perfectly written and FULLY realized in every aspect. If someone doesn't like this movie it's usually because they have no appreciation of the genre (the pretentious sorts who look down on horror/science-fiction).

Summary: A Classic already!!
Review: This movie, although criticized by many, is one of the best I've seen in years. Go figure why I never saw advertisement on it!!

This is a masterpiece of sci-fi. After watching that movie, you'll start wondering. It makes you think quite a lot and leaves you with a puzzled mind.

The quality of the images and the angles and camera views are astonishing. It is really the same director as "The Crow". It contains the same new kind of camera view that I like. If you like the DARK and underground sci-fi, this is a DEFINITE MUST SEE!!!!

I sent 3 copies of this DVD to friends. Just to show you how impressed I was. And Shuterland is really good as the doctor.

Summary: I couldn't have said it better myself.
Review: Greg put it perfectly. I was skeptical after hearing mild reviews when this was released in the theaters. I expected mere stylistic eye candy. This movie is thought provoking if you are willing to ponder the ideas that this movie puts forth, but this movie is not just bland philosophy or literary pundits without restraint. It is entertaining as well as intelligent; as Greg pointed out, qualities that are not often concurrently found in Hollywood movies. I am not really one to purchase dvd's, as I usually take a "been there - done that" attitude, but this one will definitely go in my collection.

Summary: Turn on the Lights of Dark City
Review: The only thing that kept me from walking out of the theatre was the interesting visuals. Otherwise, it stunk.

Summary: Great movie
Review: I must disagree with the critics view... the characters are not one dimensional. I believe that the plot of the story was just as good as the visual effects.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A real nice mix of suspense and special effects
Review: It's worth seen at least three times: the first time just play the movie, the second time hear the commentary and the third time play the movie again.
