Summary: Great visuals. Good concept
Review: The visuals for this movie are incredible. It is very clear that the people behind the Crow have been involved in the visuals. The story maybe isn't that well developed, but has an interesting premise. The quality of the DVD is great, I have not noticed any glitches whatsoever. If you're looking for an original movie with great imagery and a weird story, this is the one to buy.

Summary: The best new movie I saw last year.
Review: This is a wonderful movie. If you enjoy science fiction or horror and haven't seen this, go out and rent it (or just buy it here) as soon as possible. With the crop of new "horror" movies being released (referring to trash like Scream), I knew the first moment I heard about this movie that I had to see it. The merits of this film reach far beyond that of the visual effects. Despite undeniably borrowed elements here and there, (don't the Strangers remind you quite a bit of the Cenobites of Hellraiser fame?), this movie is still very original. Even without any sort of symbolism or philosophy involved, the stunning visuals and the intriguing storyline are enough to make this movie one to see. The plot can be a bit tough to follow at times - I strongly suggest seeing it more than once, as your understanding will probably increase greatly the second time around. I would say this will be a classic in the future, but it has not received nearly the recognition it deserves, and may be forgotten by the public at large; but then again, many of the greatest movies are this way. Watch it. Buy it. Tell your friends. It's worth your time and money.

Summary: Very Clever Story!!!
Review: "Dark City" is awesome! Like "The Matrix," it's creators had to have thought it out for a while. Great storyline and freaky characters!! What a creepy and intruiging movie!! It also had a great cast and very good acting. Good job Rufus Sewell, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connely, and William Hurt!! See this movie!!!

Summary: This is my favorite movie. No question. It rocks.
Review: Music video man Alex Proyas pulls off a real cinematic masterpiece that never lags from beginning to end. The performances are great, the visuals are stunning, and the action is terrific. This movie is an instant sci-fi classic that was severely overlooked by critics and award shows.

Summary: Kiefer Sutherland's Victory
Review: This video is more than just a video. To a writer of fantasy and sci-fi, it is information about a new way of life. This movie is in close relation with the inspirational dream of my life. One of the many aspects in which I found very peculiar and wonderous was one dealing with Kiefer Sutherland. At the beginning of the movie, you may just get the idea that his particular character is unruly and evil. Yet, as the video progesses, you find that he is exactly the opposite. He is a considerate "good-guy" who is bringing out the best in the entire movie. This production means many more things that normal human beings would never think to come up with. Therefore, it has a special meaning to my eyes and is more magnificient than I could have ever thought before seeing it.

Summary: Great movie, lousy DVD
Review: As a movie, I would give _Dark City_ at least 4 stars. However, the current DVD is seriously compromised; where other movies encode a 2-hour movie in two layers, this one uses a single layer. The end result is very noticable "jaggies" during dark scenes (which are quite often).

Review: This is an awesome movie!!! I knew l'd like it just from the ads. It's sci-fi at it's best and it was just made to be seen on DVD. It had Rufus Sewell and Ian Richardson (one of my all time fave actors), l had reservations about the acting skills of Kiefer Sutherland, but l was pleasantly suprised. He does a pretty good job. The special effects remind me of "Spawn" and yes..The Matrix is similar, maybe it's why l loved them both.

Summary: Very Compelling
Review: Just this weekend I purchased a DVD player and "Dark City" is the first movie I bought for it. I sheepishly admit that the reason I purchased it was because I had heard it was similar to "The Matrix". This is true in a manner of speaking. The general idea is similar to that of "The Matrix", but the details of the plot are very different. The story was compelling and did invoke a lot of thought, which pleased me. The movie was more of a hard core sci fi movie, less action. The action that was included was quality action though. I think anyone who is a sci fi fan will enjoy this disc.

Summary: This movie roxx
Review: When i began to look at this movie I was a little depressed, but after half of the movie I walked into the kitchen in some kind of trance. I was euphorious! I took something to eat and after whole the movie I was happier than ever. It's definitely the best movie I've ever seen. See it, now! I have never had a "all-time favorite" movie, but now I do.

Summary: Rod Serling would smile in approval
Review: A true triumph of Science-fantasy, Dark City is part 40's film noir, part Twilight Zone (some loving references, conscious or not), and part disturbing dream. The love everyone involved in this project had for it is evident in every splendid scene. "Visionary" and "breath-taking" are words used to the point of meaninglessness, yet here they apply. For fans of intelligent fantasy, it would be difficult to over-recommend this dark, disturbing trip. Put the kids to bed first.
