Summary: OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!
Review: This would have to be one of the most orginal movies I have ever seen. It's plot may take a short time to get a grasp on, but once you get into the flow of it you cannot help but be hooked. It really involves you because it has you thinking throughout the whole film. The sets are fantastic and original, the special effects are great as are the actors. And once more, the storyline was brilliant.

Summary: Worth A Purchase
Review: Definitely worth a purchase if you want to show off the capabilities of a DVD player. It's easily one of the best-looking movies of the last 20 years. The special effects didn't look like CGI, which is a nice change for once. My only complaint about visuals is that in the first quarter of the movie, the cuts were too quick. No shot lasted longer than 3-5 seconds. It was distracting to have such beautiful shots, then have them taken away too quickly. I felt like I was watching Armageddon. Thankfully that calmed down as the movie went on. The premise is exciting, but the plot and characters seemed empty. If not for the wonderful, nuanced performances from Sewell, Hurt, Kiefer, and the wonderful Connelly, this movie wouldn't have been nearly as impressive. If you liked Proyas' "The Crow," but want a quieter, subtler dark movie, buy this great DVD.

Summary: One of my favorites.
Review: This is definately on at least my Top 3 list of movies. It has a great, twisting plot that will keep you guessing until the end. It also has great special effects, particularly when the city is "tuned." It's also strange and offbeat, which I love in a movie. While not for everyone, if you're a sci-fi fan or are in the mood for something different, check it out.

Summary: More Bells and Whistles than a Turkey Day Parade
Review: The movie has been reviewed up, down, and sideways by every Tom, Dick, and Hariette, but if you like the movie at all, you'll love the DVD version of it. The Shell Beach game is simplistic, but entertaining, but even more than that is the depth of information provided on the influences of this film. There is a comparison made to Fritz Lang's Metropolis, there are several different essays to read, not to mention 2 commentary tracks and an isolated musical score with commentary from the conductor. All in all, it's one of the best produced DVD's I've seen, from the morphing screen changes to the sketch art library. Recommended!

Review: I don't buy very many videos, even of favorite movies, but I'm buying this one!The dark vision, the chilling beauty, the perfectly realized film noir/sf combo -- all have been commented on before. But how many films ask questions in which the answers don't leave you wanting more? Few indeed. But in Dark City, you never know what'll happen next, and when your questions are finally answered, in the last 10 minutes, I guarantee you'll be as blown away as you've been during the rest of the movie. Buy it now!

Summary: COOLEST MOVIE THAT I'VE EVER SEEN
Review: Usually, when you seen a movie, either the story is bad, or the special effects are bad. It's not everyday that you stumble across a movie that totally blows your mind. Although I've seen better special effects they had just the right amount, so that they didn't drown out the storyline. The plot is so thick that everytime you watch it you pull out new facts that make the movie fit together all the more tightly. In this movie there was no need for endless and pointless gore. I love this movie and if you don't then you need to get your head checked.

Review: I liked the part where they went to Shell Beach. Anyway, great movie, and good casting of Rufus Sewall - he has that other wordly look about him at times (especially his eyes!!)
