Review: I tried to watch this movie 8 times, and each time i had to shut it off because of how in possibly boring it was. So avoid buying it, watching it, or even thinking about doing any of those things.

Summary: Familiar but Well Directed Sci-Fi/Horror Thriller.
Review: A Young Man (Cillian Murphy), who woke up in a Hostipal Bed, who been in a Coma for a Month. That young man, since He's awake. He finds that that he's all alone in London, slowly finding out there was an Epidemic happen, when he was asleep. When it's turns night, Strange People that come out of the dark and they hunt for Humans. Those strange people have been infected by a disease that came from an animal, a man made virus that makes people absolutely mad. While the young man is seeking for help, he finds himself with a group of survivors (Naomie Harris, Megan Burns & Brandan Gleeson) that would do anything for survival. Directed by Danny Boyle (A Life Less Ordinary, Shallow Grave, Transpotting) made a visionary, creepy, science-fiction/horror film that was shot in digital video. This film is lacking in Originality but the film is vivid and the film's plot is familiar to "The Omega Man" (First Half of the Film) and "Day of the Dead" (Second Half of the Film). This movie ended being a Box Office Hit and Critics even liked this film! The film did so well in fact, that it was briefly re-released with an bleaker alternate ending (Which is in the DVD). Since the Visual Style of the Film is Moody and Dark, DVD has an grainy but sharp anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1) transfer and an strong-Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. DVD has an Commentary Track by the Director:Boyle and Screenwriter:Alex Garland, Deleted Scenes with/without Commenatary by the filmmakers, 3 Alternate Endings and more. One of the most unique films of 2003, do not miss this one. Garland, who wrote the film is also a Novelist and Writer for Boyle's Previous Film-The Beach. Grade:A-.

Summary: "28 Days Later" is a bit slow
Review: For all the hype this wasnt that great a story.Its about a few people left to fight off crazy insane humans who have been infected from a lab accident and roam the country killing the uninfected humans.That sounds like a pretty cool storyline except there was way too much of the main characters sitting around telling us their hopes and dreams and not enough good old killing and maiming.
For this infection to have swept the country there sure didnt seem to be the thousands of crazy infected wild people we should expect to see.In fact the humans we follow in the film carried a baseball bat and a machete to fend off these crazies.So there is a lot of nonsensical stuff in this film and not enough gore and insane violence that I expected.The last half of the film goes off on a tangent ,not about fighting the insane people,but of the heroes trying to get away from a militia leader and his pack of horny underlings.Predictable stuff where the "military men want our women and we must fight for their honor" kinda crapola. A lame bit of business in what was advertized to be a cool zombie type film.
Very few cool effects in this film and minimal gore and mild suspense make this film one to pass on unless you have nothing better to do.

Review: The only people who would like this dumb film are those who have never seen George Romero Zombie movies or even Resident Evil that was based on a computer game!! This trash starts out as an end of the world movie and ends up a military flick! Awful, wish I could give it 0 stars.

Summary: A cool twist on the zombie genre
Review: I have to admit that I did like it better when it was called Day of the Dead, but I still really enjoyed this movie. I have always been a big fan of the Romero zombie movies, so seeing the infected people in 28 Days Later was something different. "Zombies" that run and seemed to be a little bit smarter than the ones I was used to was a pretty scary idea. And the fact that the people weren'tt zombies, they were just infected with a disease was a cool twist too. The first half was my favorite part. Before it turned into a Day of the Dead homage (rip-off?). I also thought it was stylistically very cool. The transition from dv to film was awesome, and had a great effect. This review is pretty lame as I am trying to watch my new RES magazine DVD and type at the same time.

Summary: Why was this movie even made?
Review: This is possibly one of the worst movies I have seen in my whole life. The idea of the movie was horrible in itself. Anger as a disease that is contagious and was spread to humans by monkeys? Come on. After that opening scene I already knew how much I was going to hate the movie. After that they go forward in time 28 days and this guy wakes up in a hospital bed. They really don't explain much about this guys character but he is the main character.
This is the one part of the movie that I really enjoyed. They had a beautiful montage of him walking through an empty city. The camera angles were just right. After this it all began to go down hill.
I'm not going to reveal anymore of the plot incase you actually feel the need to destroy your precious brain cells and sit through this like I did. But I will say this. Through out the movie there are multiple plot holes and also a lack of a plot at times. I also noticed that a large majority of the movie just showed them driving in a car. They did that for at least 15 minutes of the movie without dialogue.
Oh, and now onto dialogue. The dialogue was horribly weak in it. In fact they rarely even talked in the movie about anything relavent to the plot. And one thing that really irked me was that the infected humans barely made any appearences in the movie. I was really disappointed in that. They could of at least thrown in some more violence just so that you would be distracted from how horrible of a movie it was.
Now for character development. There was none. All of the characters stayed the same throughout the whole movie. Except the main character. Throughout the whole movie he wasn't violent at all and you could tell he had no intention of it. Then suddenly at the end of the movie he is brutaly slaughtering military soldiers. Hmmm, thats really random. They really never justified this change of his character it just happened.
There was one thing that they did pretty good in it. The music fit in perfectly with every scene. I'm really stretching hard here for positives but I am finding it quite difficult to do. Oh well, I give up. This concludes my rant on one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Review: What do you do when all hope is gone, and a deadly plague has crippled humanity, law, and order. This is the question you will be left with, and come to think of it the threat of a deadly plague isn't so far fetched is it? look at mad cow, sars, bird flue, just to name a few, it's real people the question isn't if anymore it's when.

Summary: It's deep . . .
Review: This film, overall, is very good. The acting is believable, and the cinematography is wonderful. Some moments made me jump, though many were genuinely creepy. In fact, the entire film managed to keep up a dark and eery atmosphere for the duration.
More importantly, though, this is not really a zombie film, traditionally speaking; it is, as others have said, about people. Sure, it can scare the wits out of you, like any other zombie movie (maybe more so), but the themes of the film go deeper than that.
Firstly, as I'm sure any adamant zombie-movie fan would tell you, the "zombies" of this film are not techinally zombies because they are not dead.
That aside, this film looks at human nature through the story of the four main characters, who are trying desperately to stay alive in a post-apocalyptic England teeming with disease-infected, flesh-eating zombies. The film takes an intelligent look at the way in which the survivors behave in a world where society is breaking down, and the human psyche -- especially for the iinfected zombies -- regresses to a primal, violent state. It is about the part of human nature that makes people kill people for the sake of survival. (This is something done, in this film, by zombie and survivor alike -- the scene where the protagonist Jim murders the British soldiers is exemplary of this.)
Sure, the director takes a few liberal pot-shots at the military; still, they don't take away from the integrity of the film, nor the scariness.
It's gory, it's creepy, it's intelligent, and beautifully filmed. What's not to like?
