Summary: Disturbingly Beautiful
Review: From the opening of "A Clockwork Orange" I was enthralled; ready to sit down and really watch this film. Every one of my senses were stimulated intelectualy through this experiece...my main goal for writing this review was to get true film lovers to see it...definately not for younger audiences because of the violence, but magnificent nonetheless...I can't really describe how good this movie is...just make sure you see it...

Summary: "Come on me little Droogies...."
Review: ...This movie isn't so much about violence as it is about howsociety deals with it and how far it should go, ethically, to dealwith it. See it anyway, because Stanley Kubrick directed it and he doesn't churn out many flops that I know of...well, except for his latest with Tom & Nicole... END

Summary: A Twisted Masterpiece
Review: Well, well, well...if you have not seen this movie my little droogies, you are missing one of the greatest films ever.

Summary: A near masterpiece
Review: To try and summarise this film in a few lines, or not repeat what has already been said many times before, is almost impossible. This movie shows a true master craftman at the height of his powers, threading so many different scenes together in a way that the whole is far beyond the sum of its parts.

The use of music is exceptional, the acting superb (clearly McDowell's best performance) and the direction simply peerless. As a typical Kubrick film, the first viewing may leave you feeling alittle unsure of what to think, but go back and watch again, for as Speilberg put it 'the more you watch Kubrick's films, the better they become and that is the mark of a true talent'. Or, perhaps in this case, more appropriately, as Alex puts it 'Viddy well, thy brother, viddy well'.

Summary: The most brilliant movie I've ever seen
Review: The first time I viewed this movie, I didn't care for it too much. I did feel there was something there, so I tried again. Now there is no question in my mind that it is so amazing and awesome, that to not watch it would be crazy. If you have not seen it, buy it NOW. The use of slow motion, zoom ins and outs, music, language, and acting are so astounding its hard to believe. BUY IT NOW.

Summary: The Last Word in Ultra-Violence
Review: I watched ACO within a period of two days. I watched the first 1:09 of it and wanted to watch EYES WIDE SHUT so I shut it off and did so. I didn't really like it because it was slow, rather violent and boring. But the the next day I watched the rest. And I suprisingly loved it. I put it all together and liked it a lot. I love the "William Tell" orgy scene. It's rather funny. Malcolm McDowell is one weird character. I don't understand why it was banned in UK because it's not that violent. ACO is a milestone in cinema and one of the greatest SK movies since EYES WIDE SHUT (the best one).

1.) EYES WIDE SHUT 2.) THE SHINING 3.) A CLOCKWORK ORANGE

Summary: Among Kubrick's best
Review: Stanly Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" might just be one of the most horrific films ever put to screen. With it's excessive violence and nudity, it is certainly not for all tastes. But while the film is shocking (even by today's standards) it also proves to be very brilliant and a very good example of excellent directing. Malcom MacDowell gives a great performance as Alex, the leader of a gang who's enjoyment is found at the unfortunate expense of others. Within the first twenty minutes of this film there are two brutal beatings and a graphic rape scene. These scenes may seem like they glorify violent behavior at first but as the story unfolds about Alex's journey through prison and his "treatment" which is supposed to cure him of his criminal behavior, much political and social commentary is found. Then Alex goes out into the real world again only to have everyone turn against him which leads him to start turning towards his older self. Kubrick really made a masterful and couragious film in 1971. With his masterful camera work and his use of music (which are both used by Scorsese and Tarantino today) Kubrick set standards that would lead to some of the classics of today. True, the film is very controversial, it stands as a legendary addition to classic cinema.

Summary: The basic philosophy of violence
Review: Well, actually there's much more to this movie than the tilte of my review reveals. this movie is also a genious description into the unexplored dark side of the mind. And even if you think of it superficially, it's still a very weird -and interesting - piece of film. For example, listen to the soundtrack; there's Gene Kelly's "Singing In The Rain", and various parts of famous classical music. Sounds kind, doesn't it? But when mixed up with this totally psycho viloent shocker, they sound very pervert. I just have to admire Stanley Kubrick. In all of his work with films.
