Rating: Summary: David Spade and Disney at their best! Review: If you love David Spade's sense of humor and Disney's animation magic, this movie is for you. You'll find it to be a big departure from the typical Disney sense of humor, and being more leaning to the side of the Spade style of humor, but in my mind that is a major plus. On a side note, Yzma, the evil sorceress that can't be missing from a Disney movie easily is one of the funniest ones I've ever seen. In general, there are very few moments when you don't laugh your heart out.
Rating: Summary: Stupid yet funny Review: The emperors new groove was stupid. the laughs were all about stupid things. But for children thats all you need. It kept my 5 year old brother entertain. Only god knows how hard that is.
Rating: Summary: Disney takes a departure and comes home a winner Review: I've always been a Disney film fan, even without the excuse that "I have a child." But the last Disney movie to really grab me was Toy Story 2. Before that Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. Now the Emperor's New Groove ... I have to say I didn't think this would be a good film, but I got it because my 4-year-old wanted to rent it. Now it's the one film she wants to see over and over and neither my husband or I get tired of it. This film is laugh-out-loud funny. I love the mismatched duo of Yzma and Kronck and of course the soft-spot in my heart goes out to Pacha and his great lesson that we can all find good in everyone, if we look deep enough. I heard this movie went through different incarnations, but the end result is definitely worth the effort. Stellar voice cast and, of course, LOVE that Sting is singing the film's main song "My Funny Friend and Me." Definitely worth adding to the collection.

Rating: Summary: A funny movie with good moral lessons. Review: "The Emperor's New Groove" is not your average Disney animated movie. It's not peppered with big musical numbers, its animation doesn't employ the latest in cutting-edge computer technology, and there is no in-your-face-marketing campaign. Instead, you're treated to a clever script, snappy dialogue, and memorable characters. The plot is simple: Emperor Kuzco gets turned into a llama by his evil advisor, Yzma, and tries to find the potion that will turn him back into a human. But the movie is so much more than that--there are also important lessons about friendship and kindness. I think many will be surprised by the movie's moral message. On his journey, Kuzco gets a helping hand by Pacha, a local peasant he once treated badly as Emperor (in fact, he treated ALL the peasants badly). But despite this, Pacha shows him love and kindness in hopes of reforming his selfish ways. Does he succeed? You'll have to watch the movie. The bottom line: this movie will keep both kids and adults in stitches from start to finish! And you may even learn a lesson or two. :)
Rating: Summary: Great Movie! Review: I rented this movie on DVD just because I hadn't seen it yet, and I was bored. I was TOTALLY suprised at how good this movie was. You would think that because it's a Disney movie the humor would be aimed more towards kids, but the jokes and story really had me laughing along too. This movie is totally funny, and a great DVD as well.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD! Review: This movie was soooooooo good. I have seen it 15 TIMES! It's hilarious, and David Spade, John Goodman, Eartha Kitt, and Patrick Warburton make it even better!! This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE Disney movie!! Everyone should watch this movie at LEAST once! WATCH IT!
Rating: Summary: Disney is going "against the grain" that it created Review: Disney is known for movies with strong morals, a seemingly impossible pair that fall in love, and its festive musical numbers. "The Emperor's New Groove" totally breaks free of the squeaky clean Disney's image and can only be described one way: "Cutting edge". David Spade does a spectacular job of playing the snobby and spoiled Emperor. His endearing sidekick is the true hero of the story. There is no enticing female role that the main character desires, in fact, this movie seems to totally drop traditional Disney gender roles. The woman is the bad guy, she has a dumb male right hand man, and not all of the men are ONE thing, either are the women. It was a wonderful new innovative movie for Disney, and I think it will open up a lot of doors. I knew from the moment the Emperor yelled "BOO-YAH!" that this was not what I had expected.
Rating: Summary: The Best Movie I've Ever Seen Review: This was the best movie I've ever seen!
Rating: Summary: Fun, even for cynical college kids Review: My friend purchased this DVD on a whim, because she liked David Spade. Little did I know that this would become my all-time favorite Disney movie, surpassing such classics as Lady and the Tramp and Beauty and the Beast. I liked the fact that the movie did not burst into a song and dance routine every 15 minutes or so. The comedy was mature enough for adults to enjoy yet I wouldn't hesitate to let my younger sibling watch it. Even as college kids who think we're too cool for Disney, all of us were laughing hysterically over the little llama's antics.
