Rating: Summary: Tonari No Totoro is a beauty! Review: This is a film which I rented a few years ago when I was seven, and I loved it. Now I am eleven, and my mom bought me the video. Both my mother brother and I love this film! Arigato, Miyazaki-sensei. Thank you. The Neko-bus (cat-bus) is my mother's favorite character! Mei and Setsuki are very life like: the film doesn't have a good guy vs. bad guy, just childhood and innocence and totoros! Totoro-chu and Totoro-chibi aren't quite as cute as the great massive bunny-rabbit/cat/growly Totoro!! A must see! Mononoke Hime will be here soon!
Rating: Summary: ageless simplicity Review: I grew up with this movie and now at the age of 18 I still haven't tired of it or grown out of it. Tonari No Totoro is the perfect depiction of a life forgotten by the modern society. Too often we shuffle through life in a hurry and forget why we're even doing so. This movie, which takes place in a part of the world where Totoros still exist for the young at heart easily changes anyone who is willing to see the meaning behind the movie. I highly recommend this movie to everyone regardless of age. It is truly timeless, not just because it's a masterpiece but because it touches the last part of innocence we barely cling onto today.

Rating: Summary: Fantastic and Fun Video for Kids (and Adults Too)! Review: Great blend of real and fantasy. Kids fall in love with this video at once. For that matter, so do adults who still have a sense of wonder!
Rating: Summary: Loved it (and so did my daughter!) Review: Miyazaki is a wonderful combination of artist, storyteller, filmmaker and child at heart! I sat down with my 2 year old to watch MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, and I enjoyed it as much as she did (maybe more!). Happy, upbeat characters, beautiful animation, a wonderful story -- makes me wish I had such wonderful storytelling when I was a child.Watching this, I sometimes wonder why Disney (and others) can't tell imaginative, original stories. North America is so bombarded by "reruns" ... the same story told over and over. It is about time someone with an obvious love for children told the stories, instead of those who want hand out cardboard cut-outs of stories told time and again, for the singular purpose of making money. My family applaudes STUDIO GHIBLI for their work, and Miyazaki for his beautiful, heart-warming tales. Another not to miss by Miyazaki is KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE .. wonderful story.
Rating: Summary: This movie is a little weird Review: I did not like this movie at all, in fact, it was so weird it was a little scary. The Cat Bus was creepy and I cannot beleive that it was aimed at little kids! It didn't really have a moral either, just these kids running around in the woods finding Totoros. I don't recommend it if you don't like weird creepy things. I do recommend if you like Japeneze animation.
Rating: Summary: A Magical Story! Review: 'Tonari no Totoro' captures magic childhood moments where fantasy crosses into reality. It is my daughter's favourite video, having been mine for years before she was born! I don't know where I've seen or heard such a simple, gentle story that captivates the eye so easily with its rich imagery and yet still invites the imagination to expand with the underlying ideas. After screening it dozens of times I still notice new details that fascinate me. The animation is superb and the story is an excellent antidote to the violence of many other "children's" animations. I recommend this one to story fans of all ages.

Rating: Summary: This is what animation is all about!!!!! Review: When i saw this movie i was 10 to 12 years old.I am 17 now and i still enjoy that movie!!!!.It's begins kinda of normal life and then the fantasy begins when the girls meet Totoro.I loved the animation, while Disney would've used computers to create totoro and the catbus, the animators in Japan did it with a paintbrush,a pencil, their 2 own hands and their imaginations.I liked everything of it,it reminded me of summer in a kids point of view, and the girls don't even have TV!!!!!,and they enjoy it!.I will pick up this movie and share it with my nephew and my niece and remember the good times too!.Pick up this movie for your children, you won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: why can't hollywood (or anybody else) do as good a job? Review: NEKOBUS!! NEKOBUS!! (or for non-japanese speaking...) CATBUS!! CATBUS!! what fun this movie is... from the quality of the animation to the storyline to the english dubbing (even the music was well dubbed)!!! everything is here: except for the violence and other things that most of the rest of the movie world thinks is necessary to "make" a movie. i sat down with my 3-yr old niece and watched this movie through to the end...for the first time she SAT STILL and WATCHED IT TO THE END... she has never sat still for more than 0.5-1.5 min (before) now she looks forward to watching "tototo" she still cannot say it... but what i am saying is this: sit down with your children and watch this movie with them! you or your children will not be disapointed!!!
