Summary: Fries with that?
Review: This really isn't much of a movie. It isn't particularly enjoyable at all - perhaps most damaging is the acting from pretty much everyone involved. They come off as fast food employees rather than mythic characters - would you like fries with that slashing?
Thoroughly disappointing.
The plot itself isn't too shabby, but the dialogue is abysmal, and the whole thing just isn't put together very well.
On the whole it has the look of an episode of a television show rather than a feature.

The 96 minutes pass by quickly enough, but... there are better ways to employ that time.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Watchable fare but not suitible for repeat viewing
Review: Tv's Hercules stars as Kull in this sword and scorcery pic that features some decent special effects but the dumbed-down toned-down script and performances lack the punch and brutality required to make this film about barbarians very credible.

Summary: THIS IS A REALLY GREAT 'B' FILM!
Review: We can't survive on high-falutin', high concept movies alone we need our junkfood and that is what Kull is.

The movie knows what it is and so doesn't take itself to seriously, it moves fast and thankfully doesn't over stay it's welcome which is a must for a film like this (as well as non stop action).
It's silly, fun and entertaining, with good productuion values and a tight plot with good actors.
The DVD isn't quite the best I've seen but is all around better when compared to the movie on my dish.

Would I recommend it? Yes it's a fun movie, but only if you enjoy some well done junkfood.

Summary: "Robert E. Howard fans don't watch this!"
Review: Why do these Hollywood types continually botch up their portrayals of Robert E. Howard's characters? When are they going to make a movie that fits the mold of the novels? If it weren't for REH's stories, there wouldn't be any bloody movies! When is Hollywood going to pay homage to Howard intead of making him turn in his grave? 'Kull the Conqueror,' like the 'Conan' movies are abominations; the movies are terrible, especially for the hard-core Howard fans. Bah!

Summary: Kull rocks!
Review: Yes, it's not Oscar material but this vastly underrated sword/sorcery epic is definitely a fun way to waste some time. Kevin Sorbo is perfectly wry in a role that can make or kill a career and he comes through with a great performance. It would have been great to see Pogue's original script done as originally conceived, with more blood and violence, but as high camp, Kull is very enjoyable. (Contrary to a review above, Kull is NOT "Conan's son" but is considered to be a precursor to Conan, an ancestor perhaps, predating Conan by thousands of years. Some think that R. E. Howard used Kull as a "dry run" for his later more famous creation, Conan. Reviewers, do your homework.)
