Summary: One of the Greatest Movies of All Time
Review: For its genre, Conan the Barbarian is the greatest movie of all time. Dialogue is sparse, but when used it is filled with meaning and thought. More dialogue would ruin the movie. The score of this film is perfect. It carries the emotion and energy of Conan. Poledouris creates a score which has yet to be paralleled in the movie industry. James Earl Jones is the perfect villian, powerful, intelligent, and seductive. Not a better cast could have been selected for this film. People who watch this movie and only critic its special effects, are misunderstanding and missing the whole point of the movie. The themes and motifs present through out the film prove it to be one of the greatest movies,if not the greatest movie of all time.

Summary: The One And Only
Review: This is the only Fantasy, sword swinging film ever made that is truly worth watching. Seeing it makes all the others seem so shallow and hollow. Why is this ? It is the garish but simple plot, the small plot fillers that help develop the characters. The philosophy on life and human emotion. Of course you'll miss all this if you immediately think of it as a raunchy hack and slash action movie - which it is. But of course it is also so much more than that. True it does not really show off any of the actors talents too well, hell most of them have very little to say in the entire film. i think it is the more realistic approach the film takes - when compared to some of the spin-off's. The magic is there but not too in-your-face. The score is THE best score for a fantasy film. It fits the scenes so well. For me the porting of much of the score over to the sequel only helped to de-bunk the sequel further. If you only watch one Sword swinging Fantasy film then this is the one to watch,

Summary: Hugely enjoyable fantasy actioner
Review: Dispite a slow start, virtually no humour and being rather muddled, this is still an excellent fantasy actioner for adults. Arnie's as wooden as a wardrobe, but who cares? He's got the body for the role and doesn't say that much anyway. Direction, music and production design are all top notch, James Earl Jones is a wonderfully evil bad guy and the plot has enough thrust to keep you watching.The superb and bloody fight sequences are big highlights.

Review: Arnold in the shape and form that made him a star. If your a fan of blood thirsty sword play and no nonsense action you have come to the right place. The awesome power of Conan fighting to avenge the lose of the only women he could ever love..what more could you ask for?One of the 10 best movies of all time.

Summary: This is a GREAT movie!!! PERIOD!
Review: If you are looking for a romance movie or a Broadway extravaganza...GO ELSE WHERE! This movie was GREAT for what it was meant to be! The story of Conan! A story of vengeance! An action-adventure movie straight out of Dungeons and Dragons! The movie score is an absolute masterpiece by Basil P. and the movie flows quickly and doesn't lag behind. Though the characters do not talk much, the music pretty much does the talking for them in the earlier parts of the movie. Arnold Schwarzenegger was an excellent choice for Conan as was James Earl Jones as the Evil Snake Demigod of SET. The supporting cast of Characters could have used a little more "oomph" but they were pretty good over all as well. All in all this was a tale of action-adventure and most of all vengeance. One of the few medieval type of movies that are definitely worth it! Don't hesitate! Here is your chance to own one of Arnold's first and BEST movies!

Summary: Epic pulp which never fails to entertain.
Review: To call this movie good would be a bit of an exaggeration, but it is hard not to enjoy this gory, exciting and delightfully cheesy bag of barbaric fantasy. The dialogue is flat and the familiar revenge story is frightfully insipid. But these shortcomings can be forgiven; the production design, costumes and score are magnificent; the hulking Schwarzenegger is perfect as the laconic Conan and James Earl Jones is gloriously hammy as the leader of the vicious snake cult. These merits, combined with robust and brutal scenes of carnage and death, make Conan first-class viewing on a guilty pleasure level. In short, this is the kind of movie which you view really late at night by yourself and loving every minute of its corny charm.

Summary: Stupid and Gory but On-Target
Review: This is a dumb, over-long at times just plain terrible movie. It is also faithful to the spirit of the pulp novels on which it is based. As such, it cannot be too criticized for its excesses. Let's just say that there is a lot of gore, violence, sex, nudity and moronic dialogue. Schwarzennegar and his co-star Sandhal Berman are both pretty talentless, but look good in various states of undress and can finesse their way through the numerous comic book-style fight scenes. What James Earl Jones is doing in this pleasantly over-heated junk is anybody's guess, but his hammy performance adds one more layer of kitschy fun to an already preposterous cinematic outing.

Review: Lot of people beleived that terminator is the best movie of Arnold. But, after Pumping Iron, ther is no place where you can see Arnold at is best without all the special effect of the modern movies. It teach me when, I was young, to strive for a goal, the tunel vision of Arnold. It's RAW, It's POWER Not a lot of Talking but the good feeling of the mystic... A must for a Fan.....
