Rating: Summary: Not like the original, but it tried, but not really Review: All right. Watch the trailer. It is so much better than the movie. The trailer has all the good parts of this movie. There is nothing that great about this movie. There wasnt enough scenes in the past. I felt the lighting was terrible. The parts in the present looked so cheesy. Mario Van Peebles cant act at all. The girl in the movie is hot, but she couldnt act with anyone in this. Just watch the trailer folks. NO Sean Connery, no nothing. NO Queen music. Nothing. Very dissapointing. That is all I got to say about that
Rating: Summary: It's okay in my book. Review: Let's just say Highlander is a rather entertaing movie. It's the only Highlander movie I saw. The special effects are not bad. Neither are the actors.
Rating: Summary: Another Horrible Sequel Review: Do yourself a tremendous favor. Watch the first Highlander movie and forget that sequels even exist. Although this one isn't anywhere near as pathetic as Highlander 2, it's still pretty bad. Connor was the last immortal left at the end of the first movie. He won the prize and was one with all living things. Therefore it is completely and utterly ridiculous that there could have been any other immortals left on Earth. The movie also has no originality to it at all. It is pretty much just a remake of the first Highlander. So like I said, just watch Highlander 1 and stop there. Trust me. You won't be missing anything.
Rating: Summary: Don't let people fool you... Review: I know a guy that is over whealming one of the biggest Highlander movie fans I've ever seen... me I love movies in genral... I'm a big fan of Highlander myself... however I disagree with many of the comments here... I feel that this movie follows more with the events following the first film... where Connorey made mention that no one knew why the Immortals exsisted... now two said that they were aliens? from another planet? I don't think so... this at least keeps with the mistery of the immortals existance... if the first one had ended a little bit differently and the third picked up from that then it would make a little bit more sense but I feel it's better than two... which in my opinion brought nothing but confusion and the unheard of return of Connorey... if that was possable why didn't he bring him back in the first one? or even this one...? all in all I feel it's a great film... and will take it over the second one anyday... "there can be only one!"
Rating: Summary: Not Good Review: The original Highlander is the best. All in all, it's a sad movie.
Rating: Summary: He's Connor McLeod -of the Clan McLeod-, the Highlander... Review: "Highlander", released in 1985, has spawned both two popular syndicated television serieses and an stupid animated series, so it's surprising that the franchise's own worst enemy is the pair of film sequel it has been produced 5 years later: "Highlander II: The Quickening", made in 1990, one of the worst movies ever made. After the great failure of this film, the Davis/Panzer teaming deside to make up with making this film. Sow, we have "Highlander: The Final Dimension", made in 1994, starring the original Highlander, Christopher Lambert. It's a great pleasure on the big screen, having Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, the role that he created and later inspired the "Highlander:The Series" producers in 1992, though he seemed elevated to competence in the first film through proximity to fellow Immortal Sean Connery (alas, Juan Sunchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez's character remains dead and Connery remains smart enough to avoid non-Bond sequels). Even excusing the implausible French-Scots accent, Lambert's performance as Connor MacLeod (in HL1 and HL3 and the HL:TS 1st episode) was always one of the greatest and hightest points of the "Immortal Universe", making him propably THE coolest Immortal in the Highlander Film-Series. And, to be truthfull and onnest, if Connor MacLeod didn't existed, then Duncan and the characters of the televison series would have not been existed. The nastiest of these in this installment is Kane (Mario Van Peebles), a 751 years old Immortal, who was trupped in a cave at Japan for 400 years, while he gained the power of the Sorcerer Nakano, Connor's second teacher. "The Final Dimension" is all over the map and timeline: It starts in late 16th-century Japan and includes scenes from revolutionary France, 18th-century Scotland and 20th-century Morocco and New York City. This is movement, but it's hardly action. For that, one turns to the four sword fights that shape the film (immortals shun modern weaponry), with most interests the one in the Budish shrine (a litle bit redicolus, since the Budish Shrine was a Holly Ground, but, as it seems, Kane was VERY bad and unreligious) and the Final Battle in the end (certainy better than the Final Battle in the first one). There are also scenes of sword forgings and sword training (in Japan with the ubiquitous and truly Immortal Japanese actor Mako -one of the classiest and greatest Japanese actors). There's even a set piece with Lambert running through the Scottish Highlands, slashing the air as Loreena McKennitt sings a beautifull ballad that aims to follow in the chart steps of the original's "Who Wants to Live Forever?", and comes very close. MacLeod's love interest this time around is archaeologist Alex Johnson (Deborah Unger, also playing his 18th-century paramour, Sarah Berrington), but other than her showing up for unusual scene segues, nothing much happens. As for Van Peebles, he's a big improvement to General Katana's character at HL2, but unfortunately, he's reapiting much of Clancy Brown's the Kurgan character (and lines), making his character a litle boring, but still, he's a good villain. "The Final Dimension" marks the feature debut of video veteran Andy Morahan, here following in the footsteps of video director Russell Mulcahy (who did the first and second films). Many people said that he should have stayed in the Music video productions, but I believe he made a good film, with style and inspiration. Given that each movie has had its good and bad points, I'm not sure whether this is worthy of praise or not. I think "Highlander: The Final Dimension" is one of the better sequels in the Highlander series, although many people thought that it had been failed as a true Highlander sequel. I don't think sow... TRIVIA: Wait until "Highlander: Endgame" comes out at late Octomber 2000
Rating: Summary: There is no pit deep enough ... Review: ... where to drop this. Unbelievably bad sequel of a cult movie. It only compares favorably to Highlander 2, but the special effects are not as good...
Rating: Summary: A rebound movie Review: This moive was made for one purpose. To apologize to the fans of highlander for makeing that dreadfull moive Highlander part 2. Yes this moive does not really add too the story line of the highlander series but it dose not take away from it ethier. The director did a great job with the action and Lambert looked like he enjoyed makeing the moive. No it is not as good as the origanal moive but it does make up for the blunder that was Highlander 2.
Rating: Summary: Well it is Highlander but then it is just a repeat anyway Review: The only thing I can really say about this movie is that it looks pretty good. However, looks do not make a movie and this one is no exception. It is basically the same plot and the same lines from the first movie (Highlander for those that don't know it :) ) without the charm, the good soundtrack or the emotion. Ouch. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is that there has to be somewhere to go lower for Highlander 2. Just kidding I give Highlander 2 2 stars as well. There are few really 1 star movies. But, IMO, this one comes really, really close. You would think these people could come up with a new plotline. If you are interested in this series and genre get Highlander the 10th Anniversary Director's Cut. That is a movie! This is, well, I guess technically it is a movie, but that is pushing it. Ah heck I think I will switch my review to 1 star. Yes that seems fitting. Thanks Jim
Rating: Summary: Hahaha Review: Critics are strange. Going out of your way to complain your inability to enjoy a work of art is odd indeed. Sigh.
