Summary: Yeah, I know nobody's gonna read this.
Review: Oh well. Just so long as I put my opinion out there.

This movie seems to have come with several other Epic Scale Movies (Harry Potter, Star Wars Episode Two. Well, Star Wars wasn't Epic, but the crowds sure as hell were). It has also outdone them all. Harry Potter is SO DAMN ANNOYING after the first two times. If your really want an hour or so of fun watch Harry Potter, but taunt everything. It's amazingly easy.

Anyway Lord of The Rings has many differences from the books, mostly that they add scenes - my two favorite being the Gandalf/Saruman fight and the Story of the Ring. The only bad thing was the music was sooooo intense all the time, but even that wasn't enough to take it down to 4 stars.

I note that the 1 star reveiws all come from one of two types of movie : Fantasy haters who never read the book, or Tolkein Super Geeks who fear change. I love fantasy (presenting my Dungeons and Dragons collection as proof) and I think The Lord Of The Rings has opened the door of fantasy to the public. Let it's enemies (Catholic Conservatives) despair.

Shouldn't I be gone?

Summary: Just Two Words For This Movie
Review: Oh! Wow!

As a life-long Tolkien fan, I went prepared to be disappointed. How could this movie ever measure up to the book? The answer is that it can't possibly, but this movie bends the rules. It's not less than the novel, it's different from the novel while preserving its spirit. Sure, some of every Tolkien freak's favorite bits got cut, but the important parts got the royal treatment.

The Nazgul still scare the fertilizer out of me, and I get perilously close to soiling my knickers when the Balrog appears, even though I've read the book half a dozen times, and seen the movie three times.

Bravo!

Summary: one disc to rule them all
Review: oh-my-gosh. There's not much to say...but I'll try. This is what DVD is all about, giving the public what it wants until it's satisfied and this 4 disc monster will fill anybody's stomach. I have no complaints, none, nada, zip. Flawless victory and then some. What I most enjoyed was the cast interviews and commentary especially from Christopher Lee who is a great Tolkien fan. To hear him speak about the project was so cool. I was also blown away by the Weta Workshop features and the sheer enormity of their tasks. From creating chain mail to designing the Balrog it was amazing to see how they made the things come to life. And of course the enhanced film is just astounding and brillant. Worth every penny.

Summary: Lord of the Rings is the DVD of the new milennium!
Review: Oh. My. GOD!! How good is this movie?! Elijah Wood and Ian McKellen are extraordinary as Frodo and Gandalf! When the cast is in the forests, you can actually smell the dank trees and the musty ground!! Oh. My. GOD!!

Summary: Sadness in the heart of happiness
Review: Ohh my god I never have cryed so much in my entire life. this is the saddest movie. The action is awsome and the story is better than anything i have ever seen before. i love this movie. Elijah wood is a realy good actor in this movie, but i pictured the hobbits fatter. Gandolf the wizard was the perfect gandolph. It is a scary movie. you love the characters so much that when they are fighting you get sad and can realy feel their emotions

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A great effort, but it's not THAT great a movie
Review: OK all you people who've only seen the trailers - I HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE!!!!

Some of it is wonderful, Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood are perfect. I didn't like Christopher Lee very much though, and although Liv Tyler was very good...she shouldn't have been there. Some of the dialogue is extremely corny (dwarf-tossing?) and the Balrog just made me laugh.

Good, but not great. I wouldn't watch it again. It's better than Star Wars though....

Summary: if u dont like it u should get a cat scan
Review: ok first is first im 13 but it doesnt have my age second I AM NOT A CRONY OF THAT LEGOLAS GUY OR FRODO(though they r both truly drool worthy!)and i have somthing to say:Lotr:Fotr is a true master piece! whenever i go to a theater i cross my fingers and start chanting please please please, let them show a preview! I like the movie becasuse im a plot seeker and in most movies i can figure out the whole film in the first five minutes. not so with this one. In lord of the rings u r imeadiatly inundated with amazing images of triumph over evil that is quickly antiquated by the sorrow of human weakness but right after u r dumped in the middle of a flourishing culture of little people with their own ways and feelings. all i can say is watch the movie with an open mind! ... sowhat if they left of tom bombadil he was annoying(no offense to those who like his character i do to)

Summary: OH MY GOD !...
Review: Ok first of all the lead character isn't a great actor, and the movie made him worse. his two friends are the ones always causing the problems, the wizard was the best actor and he died. TERRIBLE MOVIE sorry just my opinion.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: What were they thinking??
Review: Ok I love this movie & I really liked the new added scenes. So why did I only do 2 stars? Because I think it's ridiculous that they split the movie up over 2 DVD's. Most of the time the "special features" are on the second DVD. This time they put "special features" on the first two, & then split up the movie between the first two as well. I do not want to have to change DVD's half way through everytime I watch this. It breaks up the continuity of the movie. I don't know what they were thinking, but this was a really dumb idea.
