Summary: Lord of the Rings
Review: I loved the books and the movie. However, the quality of the VHS tape I received from Amazon.com was terrible. Near the beginning and several times while playing there was a great deal of "snow" and glitches which made it appear to be a cut-and-paste or used version. When I attempted to view the movie a second time it was "ejected" from the VCR. I tried it with another VCR and it was "ejected" again. This video version was a complete waste of $$$$. I will purchase this video a second time from another source.

Summary: Lord of The Rings Rules
Review: I loved the books to death as I read them. I couldn't imagin putting any of them down. The movie is not like the book word for word but I think that's what makes it so good. The spirit of the book was there and that was what made it great. I have already gone to see it three times and I'm going to go again when I have the chance. I love all of the characters and I love how Sam stays with Frodo even though he is scared most of the time. But it shows that Sam is maybe the one true friend that Frodo has on this journey.

Summary: Just one long fight scene
Review: I loved the books, and I loved parts of the movie. Galadriel was perfectly beautiful. The hobbit friendships were charming. The miracle of the horse-rapids was breathtaking. But the fight scenes go on and on and on and on. I got thoroughly bored and started fast forwarding. There was not much left. The fight scenes were pure Hollywood schlock, complete with slime and alien-style fangs. The movie is mostly aimed at the Bart Simpson mentality. The terrifying nameless dreads of the book are replaced with explicit gore.

Summary: THE PERFECT MOVIE
Review: I loved the film in the theater, but this is the best format. It has it all, with the exception of Tom (sigh)". The images are wonderful. I feel like I am with old friends each time I view it. I am very impressed. Why Jackson did not win Best Director is anyone's guess. LOTR is truly one of the greatest films ever made. The film stays true to the books in spirit and in flavor. I can not say enough good about this movie...but READ THE BOOKS too if you haven't. They are wonderous.

Summary: WAIT for later DVD releases of Fellowship!
Review: I loved the movie and can't wait for the DVD - but encourage all like minded fans to wait before buying this version. Why? New Line's marketing is rumored to be releasing three versions of the Fellowship of the Ring - this version, a four disc R rated version with a half hour of additional footage (to be released November 12, 2002), and a full-blown gift set that combines the 11/2002 version with an expanded version of the National Geographic "Making of" documentary. My advice - RENT this version until the full DVD version is released and can figure out if the additional footage is for you, then buy the version you prefer.

Summary: You Don't Have To Read This But You Can
Review: I loved the movie! I saw the cartoons when I was little and I was so freaked out by it, but this was different from when I saw it. Not that that's a bad thing. The cast was awesome! I saw this movie so many times, I just want to see it over and over again. My friend Hannah loved Elijah Wood in the movie. She has seen other movies with him in it like The Faculty, and this movie was better than that and I think he is going to get better and better. Not that he is not good now he is awesome. He never lets down his fans.
Aragorn was an awesome character too. He was very convincing, and I am sure he liked kissing Liv Tyler too. I don't know what to say he was a magnifacint character and I hope to see him in other movies as well.
Legolas (Orlando Bloom)I don't know what to say I loved
him and all the other chracters in the movie. But I have the biggest crush on him you can ask all of my friends. I probably sound stupid but, oh well I don't care what people think and I know that there are other girls that like him just as much as me. Well maybe not quite as much.
Gandalf, I loved, he was so funny in the beginning and everybody loved all my my friends thought he was cool but liked all the cute guys first. Go figure. He's a really good actor and I hope to see him in other movies.
I am not going to talk about the bad guys in the movies very much but they were spectacular actors and they had me convinced that they were evil and kinda freaked me out.
I loved the cast, best ever, work together always. You ROCKED!!!!!!
And last the director. Peter Jackson. I want to see more movies directed by him. The movie he put together with the help of other people and technology was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have not seen this movie get off your lzy butt and go see it. It is the cool, awesome, spectacular, etc. Just go see it.

P.S. I know the review sounded corny but I mean every word of it.

Summary: LOTR ROCKS!!!
Review: I loved the movie! It was fabulous!!! Especially the casting. It was as close as you could come to the real thing. Ian McKellen made a great Gandalf, exactly wat I expected from the book. Legolas was my fav character in the book and even more in the movie. I hope everyone, fans of tolkien or no, enjoys the movie cause i LOVED IT!!

Summary: The Fellowship of the Ring
Review: I loved the movie. It was beautifully filmed, had great acting, a stirring soundtrack (with some beautiful and haunting contributions by Enya), a taut screenplay, and awe-inspiring cinematography and special effects. The film is an exciting action adventure that also has many moments of quiet, deep feeling. Tears came to my eyes on several occasions.

I read The Lord of the Rings 20 years ago and loved the books. However I really wasn't expecting much from the movie as I doubted it was likely that Tolkien's magic would be captured on film. In my opinion, however, Jackson has done it. While the film does differ from the book in a number of respects it is also lovingly faithful in many others. Those who quibble or gripe that the movie differs from the book in some ways are missing the forest for the trees. They are Tolkien "fundamentalists" whose endless nitpicking has blinded them to something quite wonderful.

The movie is an adventure with deep feeling. What a wonderful treat Peter Jackson has given us. Enjoy!

Summary: This is great movie for all
Review: I loved these books as a child and when I saw this movie for the first time I was stunned. Everyone should have this DVD in their collections. Finally a fantasy movie done the way it should be done.
