Summary: Good Action Film
Review: This is a flashy action film that delivers exactly what the audience expects. The Rock puts on a decent performance.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Entertaining, but vacuous
Review: An entertaining bit of fluff; I rated it 4 of 5 simply because I happen to like this type of movie, not because of any particular merit. I consider this to be a worthwhile purchase, simply for those times when I just want to watch something that doesn't require me to think. If I were being more mercenary (ie: not taking my personal preferences into account), I'd probably rate it as 3 of 5. Not bad, but not really good either.

The DVD is put together pretty well, and is packed with extra features, most of which are reasonably interesting. Overall presentation is decent, and fits the overall 'feel' of the movie.

Summary: A great "B" movie flick
Review: This is a movie I could have easily gone either way on. Had I compared it to some of the other Hollywood action films, I could have easily panned this. But it is about see this for what it is, a B film.
You don't have any top billed actors or writers, but a fun script poorly acted and some exciting special affects. Kind of like Arnold in Conan the Barbarian... You don't go to this film to see Shakespearian acting, so don't expect it. Expect plenty of tongue in cheek action as the tone it set that way from the opening scene with the Rock saying "boo!". How horrible fantastic!
We had a houseful and everyone enjoyed it as a great bad film. It was fun, entertaining and had us laughing at times when may be they weren't meaning to make you laugh. All in all, a renter.

Summary: The Scorpion King (Widescreen Collector's Edition)
Review: What, no partial stars?

How could they mess up this simple combination? Make an ancient style action movie with the rock. I don't know, but they did. You'll be able to tell that it's really bad in the first 5 minutes of the movie, but by then it's too late. The only thing I found entertaining about this movie was the Rock's commentary with easter eggs. While not exact, this typical: The Rock: "This is my favorite scene" very very long silence... "It was 3 in the morning when this scene was shot" very very long silence, etc... Click on an scene easter egg(a scorpion in this case), and a small screen with the Rock wearing headphones pops up and you get to see him saying lines like the ones I just listed.

What a waste of money, theirs, not mine. Thankfully it was a free rental for me.

I suggest a target audience of no higher than young teen, but then you should screen the film first for violence.

Summary: What do you expect
Review: I like movies that depict a time other than our own and realism is not necessary. I liked this movie because I got what I expected and when it was over I was satisfied.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not Cinematic art, but honestly, who can resist The Rock?
Review: In the cheesy action/adventure genre, there are many examples superior to this film, but, that's really not the point! Men like this movie because they wish they were 'The Rock'. Women LOVE this movie because they wish 'The Rock' was home in their beds keeping the sheets warm. By all media reports, Dwayne Johnson is a nice guy. A nice guy with a nice family and no one deserves a blockbuster movie career more than him. The Scorpion King doesn't take itself too seriously, which is good because it is a true "B" movie. As long as you don't expect Oscar worthy drama and like a good, old fashioned action flick, then this is for you.

Summary: Great Action/Adventure Movie!
Review: I typically don't like action and/or adventure movies but I liked this one. Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) portrays his character brilliantly and makes this movie exciting. The basic story-line of the movie is somewhat original and all of the characters were well played and acted by the actors. The movie had parts that were funny, serious, and sad and the general effect of it was pleasing.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Awesome action
Review: The Rock tears it up, not in the ring, but in Egypt eons ago. Be prepared for non-stop, in-you-face, sword-swinging adventure.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: lame
Review: I thought the movie was really cheesy. The movie was not anything
compared to the "The Mummy" or the "The Mummy Returns". I thought
that this movie would have more adventure and it did not. There
were a few good parts, however the all around movie was not that
great and I was not impressed.

Summary: Good Saturday Afternoon Movie.
Review: Looking for an Oscar caliber movie? A movie with lots of drama and emotional character development? Well.....then you won't look here! This is a good movie. But it is not a grand film.
The movie is about an assassian (The Rock) who takes on a job to kill a sorcerer. Why? Well, because he is helping a reigning warlord conquer the world. Of course as you can guess the sorcerer turns out to be a woman( Kelly Hu). And from this point on our hero is thrown into one encounter after another. All on a quest to kill the warlord, who killed The Rock's...oopps I mean the assassian's brother.

While it is not an Oscar movie it is still pretty good. Now it is probably more of a guy flick, than a girl's movie. It has a whole lot of action, and a bunch of scantily clad women. Especially the very beautiful Kelly Hu! It is exciting, and over the top. Great for a rainy boring Saturday afternoon! Of course I recommend you rent it before you buy it.
