Summary: The first and best Beastmaster - finally on DVD
Review: :)Anchor Bay looks like they are really going to get it right on this DVD - I must admit that I had fully expected this movie to be released with no features, audio problems, Pan-and_Scan, ect... but it looks like I'm going to be proven wrong. I obviously have not seen this DVD yet since it has not been released, but features like DTS sound, commentary, and a ... price SHOULD make this a great title to have. I read somewhere that the DVD would also contain deleted scenes (including Tanya Roberts), but I didn't see them in the 'details' so I'm not sure if they made it to the final release. Whenever I watch The Beastmaster I always get the feeling that director Don Coscarelli really cared about what he was doing, rather than just creating another bad action movie to pay the bills. The Beatmaster could have been an awful film in the hands of another director, but somewhere in production Coscarelli crafted this film into much more than just another B-movie. Yes, the Beastmaster does have a few 'really bad acting moments', but it also has other moments that show how much effort was put into it's creation - looks like some that effort is going to rub off on the DVD. I can't wait to see this with DTS and widescreen...

Summary: The Best Marc Singer Film Of His Career.
Review: This is a well done film about a man seeking revenge against the high priest who took over his rightful kingdom and rulership, and who also murders his father in the film. Along his journey, he learns that he can communicate with animals in ways that no other person can. He can control them with his mind. I really enjoyed this film.

Summary: All about Marc Singer's body
Review: Marc Singer, at the time he made this movie, had a marvellously perfect body, and was an epitome of male beauty. Wisely, the people who made this film threw in a moderately interesting story, and let the camera rove over his scantily-clad form for the duration of the movie. I recently got a used videotape of this flick, and watched it again for the first time in ten years or so. Marc was even more beautiful than I remembered.

Summary: WAY AHEAD OF ITS TIME... DO NOT SEE THE SEQUELS!
Review: I remember watching this movie as a 5 year old little boy, dazzled by its cutting-edge effects and animal training techniques. I watched it again today for the first time since my early childhood and it still packs a wallop. Everything about this movie is just visually cool. The sets are dark and very believable, the animal stunts are simply stunning, and the make-up effects STILL manage to send chills down my spine (Man, those vampire-bat-humans and witches are SCARY). The screenplay wasn't exactly the greatest, but it serves its purpose well. One of the greatest "fantasy" movies of all time, hands down. If you like this check out "Willow". WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT SEE THE SEQUELS! They are just a sorry excuse to make a quick buck off of this one's fame.

Summary: classic swordplay movie, must own
Review: This is by far one of the great fantasy movies ever to come out. The effects are quite good for the time period in which it was done (the '80's). If you collect fantasy movies, then this one needs to be a part of that collection. I would like to see it re-released, so that this may be a possibility for my own collection.
