Summary: The greatest Movie Ever!
Review: Even if Lord of The rings captured more critical-liking Harry Potter is a much more enjoyable movie for the young and the young at heart...

Summary: Freaking awesome
Review: Nuff' said. I've watched this movie at least ten times since I first bought it. Buy it, Live It~

Summary: The Boy Who Lived
Review: In the past few years Harry Potter and his band of friends have become a big part of my life. It's hard not to enjoy the fun but complex writing of JK Rowling. Harry, Ron, and yes, even Hermione, have become personal friends of mine through the books.

That said, this movie is one of my favorites. I usually find child actors annoying and unbarable to watch, but I've fallen in love with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson and the chemistry they have playing Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

A well written screen play, as well as wonderful acting puts this movie into the five star range.

Summary: The new Wizard of Oz
Review: This movie will be the Wizard of Oz of our time. This is one of the most enjoyable movies I've seen in a long time. I saw this movie after reading the book. What a marvelous adaptation. I had a huge grin on my face as I sat in the theatre and watched in awe as the characters came to life on screen from the horrible Dursleys to Ron and Hermione.

I was most impressed by the array of talented actors, especially Maggie Smith and Daniel Radcliffe. He was amazing as Harry. Alan Rickman was superb as Snape; effectively conveying his dislike of Harry.

For the sake of time, there were some scenes that were changed in the movie, such as when Harry Potter meets Malfoy. In the book they meet on the Hogwart's Express and at the end of the movie, when Hermione solves Snapes potions puzzle (which wasn't in the movie).

All in all, it was a faithful adaptation of the book. That will probably annoy the hell out of all those right-wing Christian lunatics who condem Harry. If you're sane, and enjoy a good story with great special effects and acting, get this movie.

Review: Enjoyable film; glad that we are finding authors in this world to make the book content "see-able"!!

Summary: The Book was better
Review: If I hadn't read the book first, I probly would have loved the movie, but as always, I read the book first. The special features are nice but I tend to by DVD's just for the qulity of the movie, not the "features."

Summary: Great Movie but an average DVD!
Review: This movie is a great movie. Realeased the 16th November 2001, it was at the top of the box office for three weeks. This movie had a great soundtrack that should have won an oscar. The kids in the movie were great actors and the imagery in the movie was the most beautiful. The DVD was OK but the special features could have been much more and for a movie that grossed 317 million dollars US and is the number 2 movie in the world grossing 965 million dollars, you would think they would have more special features. For the Harry Potter fan this a must but for the average person you may find this disappointing.

Summary: what an awful movie!
Review: I've read all of the harry potter books and I thought that they were great but then I went and saw the movie and I was severly disapointed . I know , I know , people will be saying that of course I didn't think that it was as good as the book no movie ever is but while that is true not only was it not as good as the book I honestly thought that it was a bad movie.
Now I will admit that the casting for ron , hermione and hagrid were spot on however daniel radcliff (harry)couldn't act if his life depended on it , and as for dumbledore , this is the wizard that voldemort , the most powerful dark wizard of all time , is supposed to be afraid of he is an old frail man who no-one could possibly be in the least bit scared of , and don't even get me started on voldemort he didn't look remotely scary the director could have tried a little harder.
Last but not least is the fact that loads of scenes were cut out , there wasn't three matchs of quiddich only one there wasn't a potions test to get past in the dungedon , and the way that voldmort was banished in one of the last scenes was completely different to the book.
I don't think that this movie deserves even one star but unfortunately that is the least amount that you can give , my advice , don't even bother wasting you money renting this movie out.

Summary: Solid movie
Review: I came late to the Harry Potter Frenzy, but at least I can understand it now. This was a great movie based on an even better book. Some of the character interpretations were off in my estimation, but hey, I don't make movies, I just go see them.
