Summary: I love Pirates of the Caribbean!
Review: wow, now this is a movie you've got to see. Now, Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom are great actors, but Johnny Depp makes this movie a 5 star movie. Depp really brings his character to life, by the fact that he's funny, and sarcastic, and has the perfect look and voice to be a perfect pirate. During the whole movie, he's the only one I pay close attention to. I love the pirate accent he puts into his character, and he puts a hypnotising effect on alot of people I know to put them in a trance where they can't take their eyes off him.

This movie is about the governer's daughter being kidnapped, and Captain Jack Sparrow(Johnny Depp) and Will Turner(Orlando Bloom) set out to rescue her. This movie is filled with fun and entertainment. I love it.

Summary: you have got to be joking?
Review: my friend toni came over with pirates last night. i did not want to watch it. you know toni - he's the one who sat through "gigli" and said it wasn't bad so he will watch anything and his recommendations come with a pillar of salt. i groaned when he slipped the dvd in. "a disney movie based on one of their rides?" i complained. "you've got to be kidding, toni."
well, he told me to shut up and watch and i did. okay, it didn't seem so bad. looked good, dialogue not too bad, acting okay. "orlando bloom and geoffrey rush are playing to typecast," i complained to toni who told me to watch johnny depp carefully.
i did.
oh my! where did this come from? what a performance. what an actor. his characterization of jack sparrow was incredible enough to raise this movie from decent to exceptional. when we were done, i asked toni to start it again and the pompus git chuckled at me. i watched it again and depp's performance, the depth he brought to the character is truly remarkable.
i even liked the rest of the movie much more the second time around. it has a lot going on. disney-ride analogies notwithstanding, it holds up under scrutiny as a very good action flick with likeable actors as interesting characters and special effects that really do enhance the story, which is a rarity these days.
i asked toni to leave the dvd and he agreed to. i'm going to watch it again, but don't let toni know - he's threatening to bring gigli around next weekend....

Summary: Pretty good movie
Review: It is a pretty good movie and the graphics are very cool. However I would not really sugest this movie to children under the age of 10 until the parent has seen it first.

There are some parts in the movie that could be scarry to some children. Other than that I liked the movie very much and suggest you get yourself a copy.

Summary: A True Adventure
Review: When I saw Pirates of the Caribbean in the theatres for the first time, I was blown away by the stunning visual effects and magnificent plot line. The cast is truely perfect for each role, having their own twist on their character. Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush contrast wonderfully on screen and Orlando Bloom shows the audience the incredible acting skills he has aquired. This movie is a real adventure that I could view over and over again with the same wonder I felt the first time I saw it.

Summary: Excellent
Review: Excellent movie, great cast! Dragged a little longer than it should have, meaning it's pretty long, but other than that it's very entertaining, I thought Depp did a great job you didn't know whether he was a bad guy or a good guy throughout the movie, it's defitnitley worth your look.

Summary: Yo, Ho-Ho!
Review: Peg-legs, parrots, hidden treasure, plank-walking and plunging necklines... Now, that's what a pirate movie is about! It's all here, plus a good dash of ghostly horror, in the epic new adventure DVD release from Disney, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The $125 million supernatural swashbuckler is indeed loosely based upon the Disneyland ride we all know and love, but it's more of an homage than an adaptation. Director Gore Verbinski, with the help of his talented crew, got the look and feel of the ride just right... I could practically smell the fake fog and the phony gunpowder. This gets my vote for best DVD of the year.

Summary: Great rollicking ride
Review: A great movie of almost non-stop action. In the context of a movie so laden with action, Johnny Depp managed to endow his character with tremendous personality. Many have interpreted his characterization to imply that Captain Jack is gay! Johnny Depp has said he based his characterization on Keith Richards. Nonetheless, the internet is buzzing about the possible ramifications of his characterization which I am sure you will find surprising and delightful. Frankly, I was extremely disappointed that he and Orlando Bloom didn't dump the girl and go off to sail the 7 seas together hand in hand, after signing a "domestic partnership" agreement! But this is, afterall, a Disney movie!

Yes, it is appropriate for kids, but at an adult level the undertones were quite titilating for us "jaded" city slickers who run across Captain Jacks every day.

I understand a sequel is being planned. Let's hope that Depp and Bloom manage to escape the censors and end up steering the ship's wheel together.

Buy, enjoy!
