Summary: NOPE THE PIRATES LIFE IS NOT FOR ME
Review: The movie had good effects, there right the skeleton thing was cheesy.Had its entertainment, but i think the lady actor in the movie made it stupid. The whole thing of her being nice english girl and then ordering pirates to fight back. nah I only saw this movie because johnny depp is one of my favorite actors.

Summary: Enjoyable movie for people of all ages
Review: This movie has sparked quite a lot of controversy, hailed by some critics and assaulted by others. I think this movie is a lot of fun. There are a couple of not-so-good parts, but the rest is a joy to watch.

This comic swashbuckler was quite surprising for me. Seeing as it was named after a theme park ride, why watch it? Probably a load of crap from unimaginative screenwriters, right? Wrong.

This movie's plot revolves around the cursed pirates of the Black Pearl, doomed to sail the seas til doomsday and never to enjoy drink nor food unless they could break the curse. How to break the curse? Find over 800 pieces of Aztec gold and stain it with the blood of one single man. So let's find us the man and the gold and finish it.

The last piece of Aztec gold is held by Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), daughter of the governor of Port Royal. One dark night, she is kidnapped by the Black Pearl's crew and taken to the ship. "What be your name, missis?" asked the captain, Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). Thinking that if she turned out not to be the governor's daughter, the pirates would leave her, she replies, "Elizabeth... Turner, sir." She is taken and locked in a room, even as the Black Pearl leaves Port Royal.

Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), a blacksmith that loves Elizabeth, decides to try to rescue her. He forms a wary alliance with former pirate captain of the Black Pearl, Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), who is the only one who knows where to find the Black Pearl. It all goes downhill from there and the laughs increase and increase.

Johnny Depp delivers a convincing performance as ("Captain!") Jack Sparrow. He is the star of the movie, a hilarious pirate who turns out to be a (relatively) good man.

This movie is a laugh parade as Jack and Will race against the clock to save Elizabeth and get away from Port Royal navy officials. This is a must-see and I will reveal no more as the movie is truly one to be experienced by one's self.

Summary: Great movie, but over rated.
Review: This was a very good and funny movie, but I think it was over rated. Why you ask? I'll tell you why, so many people saw this movie and thought "OMG, Johnny Depp is [so] cute." and immediately said "This is my FAVORITE movie." Now there are plenty of other movies that are extremely better than this. An actor doesn't make the whole movie, much of the movie is dialogue, story, and visuals. I personally think this is a great movie, I bought it, and Johnny Depp is my favorite actor, but I wouldn't call this my favorite movie, it be on my top 101 list but not on my top 10 or even top 20, it would probably be in the 30s or 40s. I guess it's not much of a problem I have with the movie, its the problem I had with all these pre-pubescent girls saying that Depp is such a great actor only because of his looks. For those of us who knew he was a great actor BEFORE "Sexiest Man of the Year" I hope you agree with me. And now here is my last 9 words I have to say: Overall it's a good movie, but it is over rated.

Review: PIRATES OF THE
CARIBBEAN
By anonomous "the magenta dart"

Pirates Of The Caribbean isn't one of those bloody PG-13 movies that you think should be rated R. It's only a rated PG-13 because of mild violence. It will please your entire family.

All of the action starts when Elizabeth (Keira Knightly) falls into the bay, where Will Turner's necklace (she's wearing it) sets off a weird pound-like alarm. That night, the Black Pearl, a mysterious ghost ship, attacks Port Royal, the busy, bay-town in which Elizabeth and Will live. Elizabeth invokes the right of Parlay; it makes a captured person see the captain of the capturing ship. The captain (played by Geoffrey Rush) won't let Elizabeth off the ship.

Will (Orlando Bloom) and the recently jailed pirate Jack Sparrow (played by Johnny Depp) set off to find the Black Pearl for two different reasons. Jack, for the Black Pearl itself, again, and Will for his bunny-eyes Elizabeth. The two take over the Interceptor, the fastest ship in the Caribbean, and set sail.

The music is also an extravagant part of the movie. Directed and written by Klaus Badelt, the music was very close to winning an Oscars Award.

I encourage your family to rent or buy this movie. My family owns it and I have watched it twenty four times. I know it's good because if it's still a wonderful movie for me to watch after twenty four times, it'll be an extremely good movie for your family.

Running time: two hours and thirteen minutes. Director: Gore Verbinski. Producer: Jerry Bruckheimer. Cast: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightly, Geoffrey Rush, Jack Davenport, Jonathan Pryce, Mackenzie Crook, Lee Arenberg, Zoƫ Saldana.

Summary: An Awesome Movie Based on an Awesome Disney Ride!
Review: The Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite rides at Disney World and I also like Pirate movies so when I heard that a movie was made based on the ride I really wanted to see it but unfortunately never got to see it in the theater but we rented the video and I liked it so much I went out and bought the DVD. The entire cast is fantastic but especially Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann, Jonathan Pryce as Elizabeth's father and Jack Davenport as Norrington. This movie has it all, action, adventure, mystery, humor, romance, etc, and I'm glad I bought the DVD and I very highly recommend it and I heard that they are thinking of making a sequel to this awesome movie.

Summary: Absolutely stunning!
Review: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is an absolutely visualy stunning film to put it mildly. There is action, suspense, mystery, love, and humor. How often do you find each of those wonderfully rolled into a single movie? Not very often.

The acting was very well done by Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom both, kudos to these two, and the co stars Kierra Knightley and Geoffrey Rush are absolutely unforgettable. I do love the persona depicted by Depp in the film, always kind of swaggering a long like he's waisted 24/7, and actually, he is. Orlando Bloom played his character with absolute gusto and relish, and I saw no moment in the film where the acting was questionable for anyone.

The plot appeared to be well thought out and structured, since the posters and teaser trailers for this film were appearing way back in 2002 before the film was finally released in July of last year. Many people thought that there was a Pirates of the Caribbean, and then the sequel was The Curse of the Black Pearl. Amongst those individuals was myself until I learned that there only was a single film and that a follow up name merely hadn't been decided.

Adventure and mystery is plentiful in Disney's possible first PG-13 film. The sword fights had me hooked from beginning to end, and I found it quite interesting how the studios managed to accomplish a "transform" effect when the moonlight would be cast upon the undead pirates.

If you are looking for the perfect swash-buckling, sword fighting, action adventurous pirate movie to ever exist. Look no further. You will find it all in Pirates of the Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl!

Summary: Aaargh!
Review: Swashbuckling good fun! Wonderful performances by Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom (better known as Legolas from The Lord of the Rings films), and Geoffrey Rush. The leading heroine is also great, but I found her weird/ugly mouth distracting. It was fun to see one of my favorite Disneyland rides developed into a great story and put on fillm. Kudos to the shots taken directly from scenes in the ride! Not recommended for children under age 12.

Summary: Depp Delivers Time After Time In This Film
Review: Make no mistake - I can't stand Depp's political chatter; his bashing of the United States sickens me, but man can this guy act, and he really does a great job in this film!

The only other person to NAIL a character so well was Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday in Tombstone. This movie will definitely become a classic. This movie is fun from beginning to end; the way a movie should be, unless of course it's a drama or something. Anyhow, you can't go wrong buying this flick - it deserves the five stars I just gave it.

See ya next review!
