Review: how can you not like this movie? it has something for everyone. the story is original and just fun to watch overall. it has action and a lot of humor. its so great to see another side of johnny depp in this movie; he is simply hilarious. i didn't think him capable of a role such as this, but he sure proved me wrong. he can do it all :) and just for the record, there is a hottie for younger girls as well as older ones-- those being orlando bloom for the younger generation, and johnny depp for anyone else. i'll just take BOTH, thank you ;)

Review: Pirates of the Caribbean is one film specifically that appeals to all audiences and is garunteed to give you laughs and suspense at the same time! Despite Johnny Depps attractive looks, his character as the charming Captain Jack Sparrow stole the film. Orlando Bloom's romantic character as a blacksmith stole my heart as well as Miss Elizabeth Swann. I give this fantastic and thrilling film 5 stars without question and I give one hundred percent credit to all of the actors and actresses (Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, and Kiera Knightly) No matter if you were the main character or an extra, each person in the film added that perfect touch that Pirates needed. This is a movie that I believe that all can watch over and over again and I definetly look forward to seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2 that comes out in 2005. Way to go!

Review: A movie for kids and adults alike! Buy this to make your child's Christmas complete! This movie is the best movie in every always tell other people there is too much blood in this movie. There isn't. Ok, there is a part where they get their hands cut but thats all. I'm 14 years old and saw this movie 4 times in theaters and I and my parents and brother and sister loved it and saw it again and again! Your child will love this! I GUARANTEE IT!!

Review: I didn't think Disney had it in them! Don't get me wrong, I am a total Disney fan. One of my favorite movies is The Lion King. But this just goes beyond what Disney has ever done before because this has true and utter excitement. And (gasp) its rated PG-13! First ever for Diz I think. Anyway, sarcasm aside, this is my absolute fav movie ever. It was top on my Hanukah list, and when first night came I begged the my mother to give me Pirates for the first night, not able to wait a second longer. Besides the fact that movie has merely the presence of Orlando Bloom (sigh) makes it extremely worthy of anything, but it goes beyond that. Johnny Depp is amazingly hilarious. The sword fights are so cool I just have to watch them over and over again. The computer animation of the cursed pirates goes beyond the amazing animation of Shrek. This movie is for everyone, guys, girls, grown-ups, kids, fantasy lovers, sword fight lovers, orlando bloom lovers, you name it. One of my favorite things about this movie is that it is stock filled with memorable quotes. Me and my friends are still quoting it from when we first saw it back in (when was it released? I think it was the summer). There's also cute little tidbits from the ride. The dog is there, and Johnny Depp cleverly says, "That dog is never going to move." Which, in the ride, he of course doesn't. So to conclude this jumbled praise (all not praising enough, its impossible to say how great this movie is. You just have to see it for yourslef) I would just look to do this. *Claps and does standing ovation* Well done Disney, well done.

Review: What's this? A good Disney movie? How is that possible? This movie is simply the best movie of the year. Pirates have always been on the top of my list as "Dream Job," however, I don't think I'm built for it. Oh well, the movie's awesome. Johnny Depp plays Keith Richhards, uh, I mean Jack Sparrow, THE MAN! Johnny Depp is absolutly astonshing. He really gets into the role. Also, there's Geoffrey Rush is THE Pirate. (I even heard him say ARRR!), and the plain badass. The plot is that Jack Sparrow wants to get his ship back from the evil Rush, who is planning to break the Curse Of The Black Pearl, which he and his crew has. The movie had some great action, and the characters were pretty interesting. I really liked the evil monkey. Worth seeing, GET IT NOW!

Summary: "Pirates" is an Overall Thrill Ride
Review: Pirates of the Carribean amazed me when I first saw it in theatres the day it came out. I had read several reviews and some said it was Great and some said it was poor. I agree with the first review this movie is so well done.
The movie opens with an eerie prolouge, then jumps right into the swashbuckling, and mystery of the plot. Johnny Depp is great in his role of the not so loved Pirate Captain Jack Sparrow. He is hilarious. Orlando Bloom ( From The Lord of the Rings Movies) is wonderful as the black smith Will Turner who joins Jack Sparrow (Depp) in the epic journey to capture The Black Pearl to rescue Elizabeth Swan the governers Daughter played brilliantly by Kiera Knightly. The Captain of The Black Pearl is Captain Barbossa who is played by Geoffrey Rush. Rush is evil comedic and the perfect fit.
Overall this movie sweeps you off your feet and transports you into the epic jouney of action adeventure and comedy.
The only possibly down point of the movie is the running time, running at an approximate 143 Minutes.
Now to the Special Features. The 2nd disc is full of fun facts and a 45 minute making of the movie. There are around 7 Hours of entertaining special features. Including Commentaires of the movie.
This movie is Great trust me it is well worth the $20. You can watch it over and over again. Piartes of The Carribean Curse of the Black Pearl is Amazing.

Summary: The Movie Shines but the DVD glares
Review: One of the top grossing summer movies of 2003 surpassed only by Disney's "Finding Nemo". Where the movie shines, the DVD leaves a glare that I find a little unforgiveable at times. As far as this being a movie goes you'll be amazed. It's good fun for the whole family to enjoy. Kudos to Johnny Depp for playing such a fabulous role as Captain Jack Sparrow. This is a Pirate movie and what's the famous plot and story of a Pirate movie? Buried Treasure of course...and finding that treasure. This is different. You've still got your treasure but this movie takes the whole "X marks the spot" to a whole new level. The movie centers around a trinket of value that band of Pirates need in order to lift a curse that has been bestowed upon them. What makes this storyline so successful is how it comes together in the end. The characters make this a very enjoyable film as well. Will Turner played by Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings) gives you hope for the good guys. Bloom certainly has a lot of talent and its good to see that it wasn't wasted on Lord of the Rings. The main reason to come back to Pirates of the Carabean is simply just to see Johnny Depp play his role as Jack Sparrow. Jack Sparrow is a character that anyone can love. Jack Sparrow fills the movie with comedy and always tends to answer the questions on your mind. However, every movie has its bad points. For example, the love story the movie tried to incorporate failed miserably. It was one of those "Boy meets girl but is too scared to ask her out." Of course in the end he gets the girl but it was like seeing a highschool romance unfold. While the movie is good I can't say that I got all I expected from the DVD. The DVD is full of extras but the whole "Ten hours of hours of bonus features" is a lie. Several comments from the actors are repeated over and over. The extended scenes were a nice treat and the bloopers were a laugh out loud joy. But the historical commentary I could've gone without. The DVD doesn't quite have ten hours of bonus feature. Not to mention that once you've sat through all the bonus features you won't care for too many of them anymore and you'll only want it for the joy of sitting through the movie. Overall the movie is a joy and while you won't be wanting to come back to those bonus features a whole lot the movie is still a joy. Movie Grade: B+
