Rating: Summary: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Review: If I had a chance to pick what movie is the best picture of the year I'd pick director Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King". This movie is just plain stunning! The battle sequences, drama scenes, horror scenes, everything in this movie is incredible! In my opinion "The Return of the King" is better than its two wonderful preludes, "The Fellowship of the Ring" and "The Two Towers". Great special effects, stunning music (score), and superb acting enhance this brilliant fantasy movie!
Rating: Summary: Brilliant ending to the trilogy Review: With 'The Return Of The King', Peter Jackson finishes up the filmed version of Tolkien's 'Lord Of The Rings'. And as the third part of a trilogy deserves, he does so in style. This movie has it all. Excitement, romance, amazing special effects, humour, battles (of course), and a brilliant ending. After the 'Fellowship Of The Ring' and 'The Two Towers', both of which were amazing, many wondered if Jackson would be able to top the incredible job he did. These worries, however, can be set aside. He absolutely managed to pull it off! The story picks up where 'The Two Towers' finished. Frodo and Sam, accompanied by the creature Gollum, try to make their way into Mordor, unaware of the sinister plot Gollum is playing on his fellow companions. The Ring starts to make Frodo's task heavier and heavier, and Gollum is not exactly helping. Merry and Pippin join Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas and the Riders of Rohan. It quickly becomes obvious that though the battle of Helm's Deep was won, that was but one victory. Already, Sauron has cast his eye on the land of Gondor, determined to bring down the kingdom of men in one quick mighty blow. Aragorn questions whether or not he is able to live up to the task laid upon him by his heritage: To rule all of men. Only courage and hope will ensure that in this time of despair, mankind will pull through. While it seems like a battle that is lost before it even started, the people of Middle Earth realise it is all or nothing, and go forward to meet the enemy. The movie will keep you on the edge of your seat. The heroes we all came to love are cast into the adventure of a lifetime. Jackson manages to tie up any loose ends he had left, and pulls the story back to where Tolkien intended it to go. Without any doubt, this is the most anticipated movie of 2003, and maybe even the century. It was absolutely worth the wait, and it will be interesting to see whether the Oscars will reward Jackson the way he deserves. This is an absolute must-see. 5 stars, and then some!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! (Some Small Spoilers) Review: The plot of the movie deviates from the book some but, no big deal. That is the only con of this wonderful movie! Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King is a movie that took my breath away! It is stunning to see the Seige Of Minas Tirith, The Ride Of The Rohirrim, and The Battle Of The Pelennor Fields. The Battle At The Black Gate is incredible! The part at Minas Morgul, the Cirith Ungol Pass, and Cirith Ungol Fortress are creepy parts (especially when Shelob The Great Spider appears). I love the spectacular moment in Mount Doom between Frodo, Sam, and Gollum! This movie has great acting, music (score), drama, special effects, action, cinematography, and adventure. I know. That is a whole lot of things that are great in a movie and you would probably not believe that that many things could be great in a film. But, Return Of The King offers all of that great stuff and its true! Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King is an above all movie-phenomenon! It is the best movie in Lord Of The Rings trilogy and the best motion-picture of the year (2003).
Rating: Summary: Mind-Blowing! Review: When I saw this movie I couldn't believe it! LOTR: ROTK is way better than film one and two (which are great movies). I can't wait to see it again in the theater!
Rating: Summary: Too Good To Be True! Review: Yep! I saw this movie. I like it very much! The battle-scenes are excellent and the acting was very well-done (especially the performance of Sean Astin as Sam). "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" offers a spectacular music (score) along with wonderful spcial effects! There is a lot of action, adventure, and drama (especially), in this movie. Though it deviates from the book at some moments, "The Return of the King" is yet a phenomenal movie that deserves Oscars! And, hey! There is the Extended DVD Edition due out next year anyway. So why compare this movie to the books now? Its official: "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" is, in no doubt, the best movie of 2003 and the best movie in director Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy!
Rating: Summary: I have seen it Review: It is the most touching ispireing movie you will ever see. Sad and dark, but with a sence of hope and relief. Shelob is the most realistic giant spider you will ever see, even her movement is excelent. She will most definatley have you frightened if you are the least bit afrid of spiders. the movie skips some parts in the end but all in all is quite true to the book. and if you haven't read the book yet go get it. It is even better than the movies.
Rating: Summary: Stunning! (Some Spoilers) Review: I saw this movie at the L.A. premier. This is my rating for it: A out of an A+ (just like the rating of 'Fellowship' and 'Towers'). 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' is a stunning movie! The Seige of Minas Tirith was incredible! The Battle for Pelennor Fields is phenomenal and truly dwarfs The Battle for Helm's Deep in 'Two Towers'. I love the part when the two hobbits, Frodo and Sam, (including Gollum) go past Minas Morgul, home of the Nazuls. The part when Frodo, Sam, and Gollum travel through the Cirith Ungol Pass is very creepy; and the part with Shelob: TERRIFYING! There are just so many spectacular, and breathtaking, moments in this movie that I can't explain them all. The only problem I had with 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' was, like 'Fellowship' and 'Towers', it deviated from Tolkien's book-trilogy at some points. But that didn't matter much at all! The point is 'Return of the King' is a really good, and I mean good, movie to end the wonderful 'Lord of the Rings' movie-trilogy. This is the best picture of 2003 in my opinion!
Rating: Summary: The End Is Near... Review: Wednesday, December 17 is very near. That means the spectacular movie to end the incredible 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy is finally, after a couple of years waiting, closing in on us fans. Battle of Pelennor Fields is sure to be the best battle-sequence ever seen in a movie. The acting is probably going to be superb, like in the first two 'Lord of the Rings' movies. And the music (score) is sure to enhance the action, adventure, drama, and romance in 'The Return of the King'. I greatly anticipate to see 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' in theaters on the 17 of December: just like millions of other fans who like 'Lord of the Rings' movie-trilogy and anticipate to see it on its first day in theaters.
Rating: Summary: 5 stars is not enough Review: this movie is awesome, for reals, there has never been a movie that i have been more psyched to see since star wars, no other trilogy has been this good. for all the people that dont like it, remember its a movie not books on tape, if they made it with every little detail or even followed it exactly it wouldnt be any better than it is now, this is truly the best movie this year~ ps for all u future directors out there, it seems that all the trilogies, lord of the rings star wars indiana jones were the best remembered movies, so if ur looking for money its in the trilogy business, peace~
Rating: Summary: It'll Be Incredible! But, Its Sad That Its All Ending... Review: "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" is sure to be a movie with no disappointments at all. I love "The Fellowship of the Ring" and "The Two Towers". Awaiting both those excellent movies was like an adventure. Now "The Return of the King" movie draws near, putting an end to the spectacular "Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy. Its sad in a way because that feeling of adventure will stop. Ya, sure theres DVD. But, great movies are always more stunning in the theaters. Director Peter Jackson: PLEASE DIRECT "THE HOBBIT"!!!
