Rating: Summary: Best animated adventure yet Review: If you saw Shrek and marveled at it's gorgeous animation, you will be even more impressed with the animation of Ice Age. Clever and captivating story. Delightful characters, right up there with Monsters, Inc. The character voices are not from famous stars, which is surprising considering how good they are. Thumbs up -- unanimous vote from three 12-year-old boys and a 50-year-old dad.
Rating: Summary: "Wow, Dinner AND a show..." Review: If you liked Shrek or Monsters, Inc, then you'll probably like Ice Age. It's another Computer generated movie that has a plot every bit as good as Shrek, Toy Story, or Monsters, Inc.When all the animals head south for the annual migration, one mammoth named Manfred and a smooth talking and late sleeping sloth called Sid are two of the only animals left in the area. They happen to stumble across a human baby and a fast-talking, "uber-tracker" saber toothed tiger, Diego. The three decide to return the baby to his father, who had headed north to the settlement on the other side of the glacier. On the way north they encounter a pair of rhinos waxing poetic about dandelions, sloths bathing in mud pools, a pack of dodos who have prepared for the ice age by putting away three melons, and of course, Scrat, a saber toothed squirrel who spends most of his day hiding acorns and then trying to find them. Scrat doesn't have a whole lot of luck with the hiding part though. Besides a basic plot that kids can follow with ease, there are other layers of depth to the plot. Why does Diego want to return the baby s? Why is Manny so grumpy and dislike humans? Can Sid do anything besides smooth talk the ladies and get in trouble? What happens to poor Scrat and his acorns? All in all it's a great family movie, with parts for both the adults and children in a family enjoy, and a lot of comic relief.
Rating: Summary: Funny If Not Rehashed Material Review: 'Ice Age' is a witty and humorous movie that plays like something Disney would come up with. (In fact, it's made by 20th Century Fox.) The characters are friendly and lovable, and the running time is less than an hour and a half, which means the parents won't be groaning from start to finish. Actually, it feels more like a forty-five minute show than anything. Judging by the laughs and the "awws" from the kids around me--I'm sixteen and loved it--'Ice Age' will definitely be a big hit. The plot revolves around a wolly mammoth, a sloth and a saber-toothed tiger trying to return a human baby to his father after their camp was over-run by a group of tigers. Though it seems original enough, the mammoth and the sloth are very Shrek and Donkey-like. Also, many of the scenes with fighting tigers borrows a lot from 'The Lion King'. All in all, it may not be the most inventive film ever made, but things rarely all nowadays. Kids will eat it up, parents will find it enjoyable--no foul language or anything crude in this film--and us teens that still love the Disney era will be satisfied. It was definitely worth the wait in line and the disappointment of coming back to the theatre after the previous two shows were sellouts.
Rating: Summary: Not all that Funny! Review: Some advertising has compared this film with Shrek. Other than both being digitally animated they are not the same type of film at all! The animation is certainly good, but the plot is for the most part very serious. I kept waiting for the funny parts. Other than the occasional antics of a little rat-like creature, the story is very grim. The plot is almost entirely about the rescue of a small toddler. You may find yourself producing more tears than laughs. Not a bad film, just not very funny, and certainly not what our family expected!
Rating: Summary: Ice Age Rocks! Review: When I went into this movie with my friends, I thought it was going to be a lame attempt to compete with Shrek. Boy, was I wrong. I did not stop laughing in the entire movie. The voice of Sid the sloth made me laugh no matter what he was saying. I wish it had a little more wry humor, like Shrek, as opposed to slapstick, but it was funny and entertaining none the less. A great movie to se if you're 8, 18, 38, or 88! Go see Ice Age now!
Rating: Summary: Funny and very entertaining Review: My son and I laughed all the way through this one. The theatre was filled with the sounds of children laughing throughout. The story even drew me in, and we did learn some things about ice age animals.

Rating: Summary: Laughed and laughed some more SEE THIS MOVIE Review: Perfectly cast and totally engaging from start to finish, my whole family loved this film. JOhn Leguizamo proved (again, in my mind, after his awesome performances in Spawn, Moulin Rouge, and his incredible one-man shows) that he is a great talent as Sid. Ray Romano and Dennis Leary as Manfred and Diego, respectively, are also wonderful. Dialogue, action, invention, characters, and pace are all well-done in Ice Age. Our only complaint was that the film was too short (an hour and a quarter). The opening sequence borders genius, and the rest of the movie is perfect entertainment. MORE!!!
Rating: Summary: Great Flick for the entire family Review: This was a good family movie...I saw it twice and it SOLD OUT both days I went I really wanted to see, this since I saw previews for this. They did a good job making this movie...Go see this you'll love it.
Rating: Summary: Not Exactly Perfect, but Still Good Review: This is a good movie, if you like no-action-but-still-funny-dialogue movies. There are a few parts of the movie worth see'in, but the rest is all funny dialoge and no action. It's expecially funny when the little squirrel goes around trying to find a spot to put the acorn. But, if it's a rainy day, and you have nothing to do, go see it.
