Summary: a wonderful movie
Review: this is a wonderful movie,in these days of worthless junk siberling and spielberg have created a classic for our times, this is not supposed to be shakespeare or a literary high drama.. its a movie about a gentle and caring soul and very well done. they managed to capture casper as i rememmber from the sixtes, like how they got "superman the movie" and the recent "spider man" they caught on film what i rememmber perfectly from the comic books from so long ago. casper is beautifully done movie with great visuals ( i thought the sequence where casper says to kat " can i keep you " was remarkable with absolutly beautifull music by james horner to perfectly augment the scene, and the scene with bill pullman saying goobye to his long lost wife could not have been done better if more movies were made like this our world be all the better for it , again an absolutly beautifully done wonderous movie for our time and we all should be gratefull for it

Summary: Great Movie, Poor DVD.
Review: This is an excellent movie. I am assuming you have seen it so I won't bore you with a review of the movie itself, wich I give 5 stars. But this DVD release is by no means a "special edition", a term that is used loosely today to sell more DVD's. That is why I deducted a star. There is a half hour making of wich is interesting, but I wish they would have done more. There is only one deleted scene, and although it is unique and interesting due to the fact that the ghosts were never digitally added, they could have shown more. Then there are little kids games and a classic Casper cartoon. They could have put more of the cartoons on. As far as the actual movie goes, the picture is crisp and the 5.1 mix is decent. I bet next year we will all be fooled when Universal re-releases it for it's 10th anniversary with the real special edition.

Summary: One of the greatest movies ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This is one of the best family movies ever released!!!!!!!!!!! i loved it....

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: fabulous, regardless of if you're 5 or 55 years old
Review: This is one of those movies that all of my friends have a copy of, and love it, but everyone's afraid of admitting they bought it for themselves.

Even now, seven years after its release, the special effects look good, which is really saying something. The plot, while simple, is also touching, making it one of the best movies to watch after a bad day in the big, bad, adult world. Everyone needs a laugh, even us grown-ups.

However, I'm shocked that this isn't on DVD. Wait, no, appalled. Here I sit, with money burning a hole in my pocket, and I love this movie. I don't buy VHS anymore. But, I guess I'll just have to wait until the studio exec people remember this little $100 million plus box-office grossing film needs a DVD!!

Summary: A great movie for kids and adults
Review: This is one of those uncommon movies -- like Toy Story -- that adults can really enjoy as well as their kids. There are enough subtexts and adult moments to make it more than "just a kid's movie." Kat's father, dealing with the loss of a spouse and also trying to raise a daughter on his own is a good example. I thought the special effects were pretty seamless, although I've never seen it on anything larger than a 27" TV. :) Definitely a highly-recommended movie.

Summary: Brad Silberling did a great JORBBBBBB!!!
Review: this movie is a good movie.when i was a kid i use to basically watched this movie every single dang diddley day. this was the only good casper movie not the 2nd one or casper meets wendy or whatever casper movie they made. if you havent seen this movie ill tell you why its so good. its about a guy and his daughter who move every where. they move to a castle and its haunted by a boy ghost and his ghostly uncles. the boy ghost is friendly but his uncles arent. then the girl tries to make casper back to a real boy. i know it probably sounds corny but trust me......its good

Summary: A breathtaking, unforgettable story from start to finish
Review: This wonderful example of a children's movie done right succeeds on an overwhelming number of levels. Not only is this film an enormously entertaining comedy with slightly off-the-wall characters and a bit of slapstick thrown in for good measure, but also it manages to bring up many deep and even frighteningly serious and heartbreaking philosophical ideas that make this movie worth watching for audiences of all ages. Gloriously presented in a high-tech stytle that is, fortunately, possible in today's cinema, Casper is an all-around masterpiece and, possibly, the best kids' movie of the decade.
