Rating: Summary: Umm...just rent this one, if you really need to Review: I don't think this was as good as the first movie. You can tell it's made by the Tenchi in Tokyo writers because the story is well...BAD! Do what I'd do if I were you and rent this first and see if you like it. Maybe you'll like it and maybe not.
Rating: Summary: Tenchi is a daddy! Review: This movie is just like any fun loving Tenchi episode. It starts out when a mysterious girl shows up out of the blue and calls Tenchi her daddy. Of course Ryoko and Ayeka flip out over this newcomer. This leads to some comical and violent outbreaks. Of course there is a lot more to it then that, but you can find the rest out for yourself. Its worth buying. :)

Rating: Summary: one of tenchi's best Review: For those of you who are avid tenchi fans you know that tench muyo(ova), tenchi universe, and tenchi in tokyo all supposivly take place in seperate universes so they have seperate story lines. For those of you who didn't know that you just learned it. The thing that sets this tenchi movie apart from the other two is that this movie pretty much takes place in the ever popular ova universe. The main difference between this movie and the ova is the fact that Kiyone is actually in the movie. But she takes on a character of a almost older sister role which really allow her to just blend right in. Another miner difference is that they call the lighthawk wings the lighthawk sword which really starts to get to major tenchi fans. The one thing that i really didn't like about this movie is the fact that they crammed something that could have easily been 2 hours long into a 1 hour movie which really gives thing, especially at the begining, a rushed feeling. Now onto the actually movie. I'm not going to try to spoil anything for all of you out there some i'm just going to give you a little teaser. One day while walking down the steps from the masaki shine a girl appears to tenchi and calls him daddy. Tenchi then introduces the girl,Mayuka, to the other girls and Ryoko is immidiatly suppicious of her and trys to kill her. Then one event leades to another in which Techi and Ryoko must travel to the realm of darkness where tenchi's jurian powers don't work to try to bring back Sasami and Tenchi's alleged daughter from a demon. So if you want to learn the answers to such questions as: Is Mayuka actually tenchi's daugher? ,What is the connection between Yosho and the demon of the dark tree?, and Does tenchi save day?, you will just have to buy the movie and find out.
Rating: Summary: Excelent and unique! Review: The only thing that I really don't like about this movie is that it doesn't has a sequence and it doesn't seen that it will have any in the future. The movie was great, even better than the first one.It is not something different from previews anime but it is good anyway.I'm not going to give too much details about the plot but it is great.Tenchi's problems are mostly causes because of Tenchi's grandfather's long time realtionships. We see this in the OAV as well as in the TV serie.Well this movie is not the exetion,it is about Yosho and a little demon who became friends and she now want to take revenche of all juraians.....If you see the movie you'll really get the whole point. It is the most similar to the OAV,we get to see things such as the inmense bath that only appeared in the OAV as well as sword Tenchi. The DVD is great,it has an enciclopedia about all the Tenchi's incarnations.I really recomend this one,it is not that great as the first one but it is way better than the third one and the TV series too.
Rating: Summary: Very entertaining Review: I liked the use of colors and the artistic style of the animation in this movie. I also liked the fact that the movie was just the right length, unlike the actual series. Daughter of Darkness is short but well paced and contains some good action sequences.
Rating: Summary: Sweet Character Developments, Sour Ending... Review: You're an 18 year old highschool student who spends most of your day trying to escape 5 ravenous, beautiful, super-women, and one day after escaping these crazy women, a young girl comes up from behind you and says "Daddy!" What runs through your mind? Well, I'm 19 and i'd sure as heck be a bit scared, and I believe this movie does quite a job at capturing the shock that one, such as my self, would have in that situation. The movie also does well at developing the favorite characters of the series (Tenchi, Sasami, Ryoko, Ryo-ohki, ect.), but also introduces and develops the new character so good that you quickly fall in love with her. The movie carries on the traditional slapstick humor and unpredictable events but really does a good job at portraying the emotions in each situation and drawing you into the story. However, this movie has a disappointing ending, in that it just suddenly happens. It is also a bit cheesy. I think that if the movie would have been an hour and a half long then a better ending could have been constructed. It's definitely worth getting though. It was hilarious to see the whole gang react to the idea that Tenchi has a daughter and watch their suspicious stares at one another and the crazy beat-downs that followed. I hope to see the cool new character, Mayuka, in upcoming episodes and movies to come.
Rating: Summary: This is the best tenchi movie, and I've seen them all... Review: Yes, in my opinion out af all the Tenchi movies the made this is the winner. I saw Tenchi in Love and it was good but a bit slow at times. Tenchi in Love 2 is also slow, but Daughter of Darkness has it all: comedy, action, and drama. There's no way the Masaki home can ever be the same when a young girl named Mayuka appears on the Masaki steps, calling Tenchi daddy! Now Ryoko and Ayeka are jealous as ever, and though Tenchi really is her daddy, Mayuka is controlled by the darkness, a demon named Yuzuha. This is the best movie ever, and I watch it again and again. Don't take any more time reading about it, GO AND WATCH IT. I also recamend the Tenchi Universe callection 3 (#7). Way cool viedo/DVD and its all about the summer ;)
Rating: Summary: Tenchi and his Clique are Back! Review: "Tenchi Muyo! Manatsu no Eve" is a movie I truly enjoyed. I've watched all three "Tenchi" series again and again on the Cartoon Network, and have become a Tenchi fanatic. I can't help myself - the characters are compelling and their relationships complex. This particular movie seems to follow and combine "Tenchi Muyo!" and "Tenchi Universe" in that Tenchi is related to the royal family of planet Jurai, with Lighthawk swords and everything. I don't think this movie, "Daughter of Darkness," is for a general audience, as it immediately assumes that the viewer is familiar with the general Tenchi storylines and characters. The movie begins with a pleasant summer day, Tenchi and the girls doing their chores around the house and the Masaki shrine. As Tenchi prepares to come home for lunch, he is confronted by a young girl, Mayuka, who insistently calls Tenchi her "daddy." For all of us who are familiar with Tenchi himself, you know that when something so unusual comes out of nowhere, Tenchi freaks out. Nothing new here on that tip. Returning home, of course, Ryoko and Ayeka are beside themselves with jealousy and consternation upon meeting Mayuka. As it turns out, there is a demon-child named Yuzuha who created Mayuka to exact a centuries-planned revenge plot against Lord Katsuhito/Yosho (Tenchi's grandfather). Tenchi and his family must figure out what to do with Mayuka and how to defeat the demon Yuzuha. Oddly enough, since the characters and their milieu is taken largely from the first two television series', the plot of the movie closely mirrors the plot of the third series, "Tenchi in Tokyo." Another odd parallel is that the English voice actor for Mayuka sounds eerily similar to the voice actor who played Sakuya in "Tokyo." The best thing about "Daughter of Darkness" for me was the role that Little Washu, my favourite character, plays in the story. K.T. Vogt, her English voice actor, does a brilliant job, as usual, in making Washu insightful, intelligent, sarcastic, and adorable. The worst thing about the movie for me was its length. At only one hour, the movie plays like the last few episodes of a typical series, but without the development of contexts or characters. Like I said earlier, it assumes you know all the basics. Also, I don't really understand all the christological referents that surround Mayuka, but I'll leave that to a brighter analyst to parse its significance. At any rate, "Daughter of Darkness" is a fine movie, well-animated (better than the TV shows for my money) and well-acted. I've already watched it through at least four times, and it really grows on you quickly. If you love Tenchi, Washu, Mihoshi, Ryoko, Ayeka, Kiyone, Sasami, Katsuhito, Nobuyuki, and Ryo-Ohki already, go and get the movie immediately. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, start with the television series' first.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good, but missing it's other half Review: A pretty good movie for any hard core Tenchi Muyo! fan, but it really doesn't compare to the television series. It has it's ups and downs let's just say. I thought it was unusual that throughout the whole movie they were talking about Christmas, because it was set in the middle of summer! But I did like that this one hardly had any nudidy in it. Good fighting scenes, and I think Tenchi was hitting on Ryoko. 3 stars.
