Rating: Summary: Kewl Movie, Just a Bit Creepy Review: I really am an avid fan of Tenchi Muyo! and the other series. It's just that there's one minor factor in the series that gives me the creeps and it bugs me... alot. The movie starts off on Christmas Eve and there's a demon named Yuzuha. She's been holding this grudge forever against Yosho, Tenchi's grandfather. Seeking revenge, Yuzuha steals a bit of Tenchi's hair and mixes her cells with his hair in a cauldron. A girl by the name of Mayuka pops out. Fast forward to the summer. Everyone is enjoying the lazy days. Mayuka appears and starts calling Tenchi "daddy." The girls are wondering if they are the mother of Mayuka. Ryoko and Aeka are not jealous of each other, but the fact that Mayuka is trying to spend a lot of time with Tenchi. This is the creepy part. For all of you who have watched Shin Tenchi Muyo! or Tenchi in Tokyo, know who the voice of Sakuya Kumashiro is? Yep, that's the same voice of Mayuka. Eww... I have to be astonished that the people that casted the voices would use the same voice. The reason, also, that I gave this movie 4 stars is because the character Mayuka. To complete her mission of bringing Tenchi to Yuzuha's world of darkness, she does these really weird things. One includes kissing him, another, licking Tenchi while he is asleep. Weird. The movie gets a little intense and I just don't understand it. Still, Manatsu no Eve is a good movie to watch. I really love the music at the ending credits too.
Rating: Summary: Watch it again... Review: I watched this movie once and I wasn't sure myself if I liked it or not. The animation was very similar, as in Tenchi in Tokyo(Shin Tenchi). I watched it a second time with my friend and then I realized how great the movie was! The plot is good and not hard to understand. The music was teriffic, as well as the sound effects! There's 1 new character named Mayuka and I liked her a lot. The scenes between her and Ryoko are the best! The movie is only 60 minutes long but in a way that's good;it's not too long where it gets to the point that you want it to end. I think anyone who watches this movie should watch it a second time. But that's just my personal opinion^_-. If you watch the dub listen to Yazuha's voice...that's Reta Rapulsa from Power Rangers you hear...
Rating: Summary: A girl walks out of the forest... Review: and claims to be Tenchi's daughter. Mayuka not only looks kind of like him, but she can even call up Jurai power in the form of a Light Hawk Wing, just like Tenchi! As Ryoko and Ayeka become jealous and see the young girl as a new rival, will Washu and the others find out what's going on? In the end it turns out of be a grudge over 700 years old! And it happens to be against Yosho! How will Tenchi save his friends against the Demon of Darkness and will he also feel the need to save Mayuka, daughter or not? Talking toys, adult scenes and a mature plot makes this movie something the kids might NOT wish to watch.
Rating: Summary: Both Sub and Dub Are Awesome: a Must for Tenchi Lovers Review: I saw both the subtitled and dubbed version of this movie, and they were both VERY good. The story is about a girl, Mayuka, who comes from the future claiming to be Tenchi's daughter. Of course the whole household is upset by this, Ryoko especially. The main villian was Yuzuha, a demon from Grandfather's past on Jurrai. If you enjoy Tenchi, you have to get this. The animation is top quality. The dubbing is good, although a few voices were recast. And the subtitled version gives you the original feeling of the movie, with easy reading. (And only one mistake through the whole hour!) This was a truly great movie, and a must for anime lovers! Also, if you've seen the movie and enjoyed it, you might be interested in getting the soundtrack for it, which is also available and is very good too.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT Movie! Review: A fantastic movie! 5 stars! For those of you who are questioning buying, here is my short summary: *On a mid-summer's eve a bishojo young girl, by the name of Mayuka, comes to the shrine looking for her 'daddy', and to EVERYONE's surprise, she claims that Tenchi is him! With no memory of her mother, Mayuka has nowhere to go and stays in the Masaki home(which causes CHAOS in the household of young woman!)* Follow the story through the tale to revel Mayuka's past which links between Yoshu's. A classic amoung Tenchi fans or just the Anime obsessed. I recommend this for an older age group though due to mature sequences.(I'm thinking *PG13-mature audience AND I DO mean 13 years old)Beautiful Backgrounds and scenary, and colourful charators as expected from a Tenchi movie. Focuses MAINLY on Tenchi, Yoshu, Mayuka, Ryoko, and our villaness. A lovely sequal next to the 'Tenchi Movie'(also recommended). ~THIS IS WORTH BUYING!~
Rating: Summary: Fit to stand beside the first Review: The first Tenchi movie totally blew me away in 96, now, 4 years later when I've finally got around to seeing it's sequel, I can't help but wonder how AIC manages to churn out such high-quality anime every time. Tenchi's animation is totally fit for DVD- the colors are astonishingly beautiful, and the picture quality overall is superb. Though it's not really much of a loud movie, the music and sound effects are extremely well done (The ending theme, Manatsu No Eve, is one of my fave anime songs, right up there with Tonari No Totoro), and, as usual, Pioneer's English cast pulls off a truly great dub. Watching this was really an enjoyable experience for me. This Tenchi movie is really sweet, with an ending, like the first, that's bittersweet and appropriate. I can't really figure out if it's a continuation from the OVA's or the Series (I'm guessing it's set in the OVA universe, perhaps Kiyone IS introduced in the OVAs further down the road). All in all, A wise use of your money. PS: To clear up something for all of those who think an hour is short for a movie, this isn't really a movie. In Japan, it was released on TV as a lavishly animated Christmas special. Pioneer has tried to pass it off as a movie here. The technical sequel to "Tenchi Muyo In Love" is "Tenchi Forever".
Rating: Summary: A cool movie. Review: It was true to the original TV series, Tenchi universe, and was fun to watch.
Rating: Summary: Yay! Review: This movie is amazing! I love the animation. The storyline does move a little fast, but thats ok! I really love it and would watch it anytime.
Rating: Summary: This one was the best! Review: This was a great movie, anyone who hasn't seened it is missing everything. If you don't know anything about Tenchi though you may not understand it becuase it's a sequal. I LOVED Meyuka the daughter of tenchi even though she did some things that shouldn't be seen to young kids but maybe to teens because their isn't any bad detailed things. See ya! Daniela
Rating: Summary: One of the best Tenchi movies Review: Mayuka is engaging, pretty, and hides a dangerous secret. She says Tenchi is her father, but is she telling the truth? And what does Yosho have to do with the demoness Yuzuriha? And most importantly, if Mayuka IS Tenchi's daughter, then who is her mother? You won't think of the Tenchi universe the same way again after you see this movie!
