Summary: Curious about Troughton? Start here.
Review: A few flubbed lines, some lame mummy-movie and Cold War stereotypes, and the would-be Christmas toy Cybermats aren't that scary -- so why watch it? Because the story is great, the low-budget sets are great, the Cybermen look great, Troughton and his companions are great, and the last ten minutes of part 2 is transcendently great. There are even a few subversive moments. Probably those fans who grew up watching the Pertwee/Baker stories won't find this story psychologically complex enough. But I think they'll be missing out. The best Troughton-era Who available.

Summary: A classic must see for all Doctor Who fans.
Review: "Tomb of the Cybermen" is a classic. The Cybermen are menacing and I think have the best design, except for the later versions in the 80's. The story has some good characters, especially Eric Kleig being the meglomaniac scientist who actually thinks that he can control and rule over the Cybermen. "Tomb" itself goes along at a decent pace and doesn't drag. The Cybermen are only in three of the four episodes and used effectively; though their voices were sometimes hard to comprehend. I would recommend to anyone to get the script book to clarify any of their dialogue. All of the cast did an excellent job and the special effects were done with perfection. The best one being when the Cybermen are "defrosted" and come out of their tombs. That was something to see. Overall "The Tomb of the Cybermen" delivers classic Doctor Who from the 60's with convincable acting, decent story and plot lines, and excellent cliff hangers. Enjoy it.

Summary: "Who'd be a woman!"
Review: The TARDIS lands on Telos, where an archealogical dig is in progress to find the last remaing Cybermen. With the exception of some awkward acting, outrageous dialogue, and some iffy accents, "Tomb" is thoroughly entertaining, it might also be one of the best Cybermen adventures. The direction is excellent. The soundtrac has a big budget feel, very different. The design is also very good, even the Cybermen(although it is sort of hard to understand them) come off well, moving very fast to capture the humans, and they're the most "logical" in the entire series. Victoria isn't all that great(like Vicki in the Hartnell era, she is given some horrible lines), but at least she looks good and can scream her head off(we wouldn't see a great screamer like this until Bonnie Langford). I can understand if some reviewers had a less enthusiatic comment, but "Tomb" stands on its own very well, thank god they found ALL of it!

Summary: DOCTOR WHO -CLASSIC STYLE
Review: This story is one of the greatest of the Troughton series ever made. If you are not a Whovian then this is a stupid show but for us Whovians it is a great story. Luckly it is here for us to see unlike the Celestial Toymaker etc. A MUST.

Summary: One of the top ten "Who's" ever!
Review: We really are lucky that this adventure was unearthed and restored. It is classic Who and more importantly, classic Troughton versus his arch enemies, the Cybermen! If can only afford one Who adventure this year or only one Troughton adventure, THIS IS IT!!!

Summary: Tomb of the Cybermen - Classic Who
Review: Tomb of the Cybermen, although it looks out of date, is the classic "monster" Doctor Who episode. ( it is after all 30 years old ). Once thought gone forever, it has been returned from Hong Kong and no fan should be without this collectible delicable.

Summary: One of the best Patrick Troughton movies known to exist!
Review: This is a great Doctor Who movie. Patrick Troughton had so few of his movies survive the BBC's cleaning of the vault. Not only was this one missing for a long time before being rediscovered, but it's one of the greatest movies ever! This is also the only movie known with Victoria.

Summary: A classic I think not!
Review: The Tomb Of The Cybermen is regarded as one of the very best Doctor Whos there are, but when I saw it, I was amazed at how bad it was. The main problem is that the whole story is layered on three sets - two rooms, and the tomb. Them aside, the story goes virtually nowhere. For some reason, the Cybermen do duck impressions all the time. The cast are predictably bad (especially the "american" captain) and the plot is quite silly...

Summary: A Troughton Classic!
Review: The Tomb of the Cybermen is the earliest surviving complete Cyberman story. It is the story following the classic lost story "The Evil of the Daleks" and Victoria, a new companion, is introduced. This is great for any Who fan and newcomer. One of the best Troughton stories. Worth the time and the money.

Summary: Still holds up despite to cheesy effects
Review: As usual for me I am not going to go over the plot in any great detail check the Doctor who BBC website or fan sites for that. I will tell you that this is a really well done story. the writing is very good and the actors do a fair job of not making it too over the top. Patrick Troughton's portrayal of the Doctor is mischievios and clever. Special effects are rough due to the low budget and quick shooting schedule of the series when it was made. Unlike the later Tom Baker onward Cybermen these ones seem more sinister despite the low budget costume ( let's face it a Rubber wetsuit tubing and a construction helmet isn't scary) but the characterization of the controller is very good and the actor is very tall making him tower above not only the Doctor Jamie and Victoria but also the other cybermen.

The extras are terrific as has been the case with all the recent BBC DVD releases we have a 30-45 minute panel discussion with all the surviving cast telling some very funny stories about the filming ( the info text option & commentaries on screen repeats a lot of the same info so watch the extras first). If this is indicative of the level of the 2nd Doctor era it is sad we don't have more
