Rating: Summary: How Do You Give a Movie No Stars? Review: "MIB II" was the WORST film of 2002, hands down. "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist" had more laughs. The actors walk through their roles and there is no joy in the film, which is sad considering how entertaining and original the first film was. There are no memorable lines, scenes, or jokes. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are just in it for the paycheck. Barry Sonnenfeld proves once again that his theory that shorter movies are better is pathetically flawed. This film is witless, hopeless, pointless. Plot? What plot? Visual effects? We recycled the first ones? And what happened to MIB headquarters? It used to be brimming with life. Now, it's a corporate mess. The movie rivals the Austin Powers and Bond films for shameless plugs. I would write a more coherent review, but there's nothing TO review. Do not rent, do not buy, do not view if you wish to keep your dignity intact. Lord knows I gave up mine when I payed 6 bucks to see this.
Rating: Summary: If it weren't for the singing dog... Review: Basically, a re-hash, just a bit of script tweaking. Still, there are a few cute and clever spots. Frank, who arfs along to the car radio...the ever charming Smith and the stoic but always dependable Jones...and, NO surprise at all, Michael Jackson as an alien. It's not like we didn't see THAT comin', huh ?
Rating: Summary: I don't remember the first one... Review: and those of you who do, may need to find something else to occupy yourselves besides watching movies. That was five freaking years ago, people! It was a better than average comedy meant to go thru one end of yr brain and out the other, not stay there as if it were something of consequence. And so it is with MIB 2,smartly clocking in at 1:25 and delivering the laughs you expect. I wouldn't buy it, but if you are normal, you will like renting it. If you think you are Roger Ebert, you will be offended. And that is your four bucks, and your problem.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the first, but still pretty good! Review: I really enjoyed this movie! Perhaps more than others have - but I thought it was pretty darn good as far as sequels go. It has good character development built from the first movie (Agent J and his man vs. the world and himself story line), and the comedy was still rocking. It was a little cheezy at times, but isnt that what these kinds of movies are for? I recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Get Back With The Men In Black! Review: "Men In Black II" is just as good, if not better, than the original movie. Most of the characters from the first film return to great effect. Agent Jay (Will Smith) is having trouble finding a suitable partner after the retirement of Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones). Agent Jay is eventually partnered up with Frank the Pug, the talking dog briefly seen in the first film. The worms, seen in the coffee room in the first film, are also back. We get to see them living it up in their swinging bachelor pad. Lara Flynn Boyle plays Serleena, an alien who lands on earth and assumes the form of a Victoria's Secrets lingerie model. She is an intergalactic dominatrix intent on destroying the earth. The head of the MIB agency, Agent Zed (Rip Torn), decides that Agent Kay must be brought out of retirement to help thwart Serleena and her group of outlaw aliens.Once Tommy Lee Jones' transformation from postmaster Kevin Brown back to Agent Kay is completed, the movie kicks into high gear. He immediately intimidates Agent Jay into letting him drive the new company car. The chemistry between the by-the-book veteran and his renegade partner is even more effective than in the original movie, now that they know each other so well. The plot twists multiply until the movie reaches it spectacular conclusion. The special edition has a second disc which includes an alternate ending, behind the scenes footage and a hilarious blooper reel. I, for one, hope there will be a Men In Black III.
Rating: Summary: It's okay but could be much better. Review: Men in Black II is a good family movie but is lacking the newness and the independence of the first movie. It's shorter than the first movie but is jam packed with special features that honestly i'll never watch. But this movie is okay overall with a better song (in my opinion) by Will Smith called Back in Black. But on any means do not see this movie before watching the original because most of the jokes are refrences to the original.
Rating: Summary: Just doesn't work for me Review: This one is just a silly rehash of the fist one. The first one was very neat, but it certainly didn't need a sequel. Well, the studios were smart. The film was released. Everyone saw it on opening weekend. The film was very short and the script took what, a week? They just slapped together this one, realizing that people would see it anyway. We see that all too much, but it works. This film was unfunny, and wasn't that original after seing the first one. Frank was funny, and Tommy Lee Jones' post office clothes were funny. That's about it. It had enough for me to give two stars, but I wouldn't recommend it. I would recommend the first one, though. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and fee free to leave me a helpful/not helpful review. God Bless America!
Rating: Summary: Stinkety-Stank Review: This movie was [bad]. The extras on the DVD were fun, most fun was the short film included in the previews section. Don't bother, it's a rental.
Rating: Summary: Dumber than Dumb Review: I find the Men in Black movies juvenile and boring.
Rating: Summary: They threw out what worked... Review: This movie was OK... What made MIB work was Tommy Lee Jones' dry yet cocky confidence and Will Smith's shock at the whole concept always trying to play cool and always 2 steps behind the master Man in Black (Tommy)... Sadly, in MIB-2 Tommy is a waste case, never really taking charge, Head Quarters is infiltrated as easy as holding up a McDonalds (HOW COULD THIS BE...?) and we are left with Will Smith to carry the load through most of the movie (Love you Will but you aint all that...) I'll keep rewatching the first movie and hope for a MUCH BETTER MIB 3...!
