Rating: Summary: This movie brings out the excitement of my 60's high school Review: It has been years since I have seen this movie. I still remember with fantasy nastalgia the excitement of high school revisited. Teachers that where far out (Dennis Hopper) and a car jock that was a sorry excuse for a student and a honor student that was a misfit groupie. Their combination gave me a feeling of hope and revenge and excitement all at the same time. This movie is a classic that will be one of my favorites for all time. I have been looking for the tape for many years and have ended up with a worn video store version. I am glad I can finally get a good copy.
Rating: Summary: Grade: A+ Review: It has to be said that this is a bad movie. However,as with Dolemite, this does not make it a "bad" movie. Its very entertaining and has an excellent cameo by Dennis Hopper and some surprisingly good special effects ,especially the dinosaur in the latter part of the film. It wont suit everyone, but if you like trashy movies, then this ones up there with Dolemite, Runaway, Biggles and Leonard part 6. Better than ...? anyway.
Rating: Summary: Don't let this happen to you! Review: It is down to the line and if you do nit come up with a good science project you can kiss you high school diploma good by. What luck a nearby abandoned military depot. You guessed it an alien engine is just waiting for the application of a little electricity.
This is what happened to a young lad, Michael Harlan (John Stockwell.) With the help of his friends he discovers new dimensions. There is time enough for adventure and time enough for love Ellie (Danielle von Zerneck.) A vortex sucks up the science teacher. And everyone is threatened. Only the original hand full of friends can curb the problem by fighting their way back in over numerous obstacles to remove the source of energy to the engine.
Can they curb the power before it is too late?
Will we ever see the science teacher again?
Rating: Summary: Was That Really Ike? It Looked Like Ike Review: Movie Summary: Ike tells the army to get rid of the UFO they have found. But they don't do a very good job because twenty years later, Motor Head Mike finds part of it in the junkyard of the same army base when he is trying to find something to pass off as his high school science project. Together with his friends Ellie and Vince, Mike cleans up the machine he has found and feeds it some power. It opens up a space time warp and sucks in his science teacher and spits out all sorts of other things. Mike, Vince, and Sherman, steal the guns from some Vietcong soldiers that have popped out of the warp and shoot everything that moves. They rescue Ellie and save mankind. My Opinion: I think it's mostly nostalgia that makes people rate this movie high. There are a lot of other movies that do it better. It takes this movie so long to get to the good parts. A movie like this should be all good parts. Fisher Stevens and Dennis Hopper both give good performances, but it isn't enough to make this movie good. This is one of those movies that is a lot better when you are a kid. DVD Quality: Wide Screen 2.35:1 NON-Anamorphic on one side, 1.33:1 full screen on the other. DD2.0. The only other menu item besides "Play Movie" is "Scene Selection" this is as bare bones as it gets. The sound and non-anamorphic video make this a very poor DVD offering. What You Should Do: Steer clear unless this is your favorite movie in the world and you just have to have it on DVD. If you remember it fondly, keep it that way by not seeing it again. Related Movies To Check Out: Teen Wolf, Back to the Future, Weird Science, Sixteen Candles, Laserblast, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Explorers, Goonies, E.T., The Iron Giant
Rating: Summary: Weird Explosive and Crazy Review: My Science project is a classic 80's thrill ride. This explosive comedy was one of my favorites. A weird glowing orb is placed in the hands of a kid by fate. (He fell in a hole) When power is introduced to the "machine" space time and every thing unholy takes over a local high school. See this movie.
Rating: Summary: inner dimensonal time rips-oh my! Review: The special effects are great. The character developement isjust so-so but i have to admit this movie has its moments ofhumour and the idea of a flyingsaucer being disassembled by thegovernment at hanger 54(which bythe way is a real location) doesnot seem that really farfetched.Dennis hopper et.al. do a finejob holding our interests andhis ex-hippie type persona(whichhe also used later in "flashback"helped hold together what reallycould only be described as adrive-in saturday night flick youmight have taken your best girlto see back in your high schooldays. If you looking for some simpleescapism his would be one youmight wish to check out.It has been on moratorium forquite a while and i was suprisedto see that Amazon has it-butpleasantly surprised.I ordered myself a copy-can'treally justify it -just missedthe movie.
Rating: Summary: My Science Adventure Review: The story is good and the cast is decent as well. Who would know that Dennis Hopper would add some comedy relief. This is one of those sleeper movies like "Adventures in Babysitting" and "The Last Starfighter" that turns out worth your time.
If you like movies like "Explorers", "Goonies", and "Flight of the Navigator" you should enjoy it. This is a movie that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The sets, music, and directing is good. Even the special effects which are a bit dated now are still quite good.
A science project made from a hidden device in a secret military stockpile can lead to some unpredictable results. When the school starts to transform into periods of the Earths history including the dinosaur age, the students must keep on their toes to survive.
No extras with this DVD. Even if there aren't any this is a good price for couple hours of light comedy adventure.

Rating: Summary: A Great B movie Review: There is just something about this movie, every time it is on, I have to watch it. It has an excellent plot but it could have been done much better. A high school kid needs to get an A on his Science project to pass so he goes to an old air force junk yard to look for something to tinker with. He finds an underground storage facility no longer in use. an odd light catches his attention. Security is soon on his tale. He grabs the object and runs. Know one is quite sure with it is, but it is an engine from an alien space craft. when he starts to play with it, all hell breaks loose as time and space are unraveled.
Rating: Summary: SENTIMENTALLY OUTRAGEOUS 80s FILM Review: This film is noteworthy because it is just so 80s and they just don't make them like this any more. I thought the time-space warp idea was used very effectively for a totally off the wall experience. I suppose you may have to have a pretty objective sense of humor to enjoy this film, however, don't judge it too harshly.
