Summary: One of my personal favorites...
Review: I absolutely love this movie and recommend it to all my friends. This movie is very funny but romantic and warm as well. It reminds me of the screwball comedies from the 1930's and 40's. I very much like the stylized look of this movie. It has a very 60's meets 80's feel to it with a touch of futuristic space age mixed in. John Malkovich is so funny, charming and warm in this movie that it's hard to believe that this is the same actor who now does "serious" work. Ann Magnuson is very comedic, pretty and good, that it makes me wonder why she did not become a bigger star like Meg Ryan. I was quite excited when this movie was released on dvd. However, I was disappointed because the dvd really does not have any extra features over the vhs edition that I already owned. The movie gets 5 stars but this dvd format only gets 3 stars.

Summary: Enjoyable fun romantic and highly interesting little satire
Review: It's an original little story about a PR consultant falling in love with the human-like android astronaut she's meant to be promoting. Ann Magnusson is clearly on the lookout for Mr Right as the title suggests, but so far has had no luck. Until now, that is. However, what I found interesting is that the audience is kept guessing for most of the movie as to who she will actually end up with. And, ironically, as the android gradually starts acting more human-like, his human creator begins to act more robot-like. Malkovich in a dual role is suitably arrogant as the creator and suitably sweet as his android counterpart. Bring this back to video, please!

Review: Overall, I did not care for this movie. There are some very good things about it though. The music is great and there are some very funny scenes in it. John Malkovich does an excellent job with the two different personalities - the android and the doctor. The acting of the other actors is very poor though and overall the movie was corny and pretty dumb.

Summary: Great under-rated FLICK!
Review: This is a GREAT UNDER-RATED little 80's flick that I think more peolpe would enjoy if they just gave it a chance! All of the characters are so great and funny! I've never heard of Ann Magnusen but let me just say that she's great! So is John Malkovich! He plays 2 completely different charcters and does it very well! So just give this movie a chance! If I liked it, I'm sure you would too!

Summary: What a sweet, little, feel-good piece of comedy!
Review: This is a really great movie, worth seeing if only to witness John Malkovich playing against type. In the dual role of both the creator and creation, Malkovich is careful to keep their personalities entirely separate. Whilst Dr Peters is arrogant and dispassionate, Ulysses is gentle and sensitive. I love the way the android grows during the course of the movie, from child-like innocence to loving tenderness. The movie keeps you guessing to a certain extent as to who Ann Magnuson's character will end up with, but it is great how it all comes to a head in that magical scene, when the two of them kiss for the first time. It is deeply moving and gently humourous, with neither outweighing the other. See it!
