Summary: MIB means what you saw you did NOT see!
Review: MEN IN BLACK is one of those films that comes along every now and then that reminds us of why we watch movies in the first place. Barry Sonnenfeld's witty Sci Fi comedy is clever in it's premise (taken from Marvel comics) and the genius pairing of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones is the best on-scren duo since Newman and Redford. The special effects, weird humour and a great score by Danny Elfman all makes this great entertainment.

Review: This is one of those Will Smith fun movies. You watch this movie for the special effects and sounds. So in that sense it's worth having in your collection to bring life to your home theater every so often. Kids enjoy this film, so it's a great family movie.

Summary: Good Movie.
Review: This was a good movie when I saw it back in 1997. It was fun to watch and you didn't have to think much about it. When the sequel to this movie came out, I rented this movie again, I saw this as a masterpiece compared to the sequel out right now. However just like Twister and Independence Day it hasn't aged well and gets on your nerves if you watch it more than once. If you haven't seen it rent it not buy it because once is all you will ever need to see this movie.

Summary: Here come the Men in Black...
Review: The plot of M.I.B. is that the world is populated by aliens disguised as ordinary people and there's a secret branch of the INS designed to monitor them and protect us- the Men in Black. Tommy Lee Jones (agent Kay) and Will Smith (the newly recruited, agent Jay) play two of the agents. When an alien named Edgar (played by Vincent D'Onofrio) falls to Earth and wants to take over the galaxy, it's up to them to save the day.I must say that this is one of the most overall entertaining movies I've seen. The special effects were superior and Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are a hilarious team together. Along with the amusing one-liners, there were also many funny moments, like Jay "delivering" the alien baby and the conversation with Frank the talking Pug. This is a top-notch comedy/sci-fi flick that I highly recommend!

Summary: A funny movie except for the gross-out humor!
Review: This is a funny movie with great performances by Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. The sequel "Men In Black II" is still in theatres, and I want so see it, anyway about the gross-out humor, how come there were alot of bugs in Edgar Bugs's mouth, if you were going to add that, you should rate it PG-13 for language, sci-fi violence, and scenes of gross-out humor, but I'm not saying this is bad, it's funny, well in a gross way.

Summary: Good in some aspects
Review: This movie was funny, had action, and the DVD had great extras. Why only 2 stars? This movie is far too violent, and includes shots of a man's skin being torn off his body, two disuised aliens being sliced through the neck (and dying), a person having been killed and inprisoned in a slimy green cocoon, an alien jumping off a building to his death, a toe truck driver being shot and killed, several squashed cockroaches, a hose puring out toxic gas was shoved down a man's throat (obviously killing him), an alien being blown apart, a guy's head being shot
off, and, to top it all off, a full shot of a man broken in half at the waist, lying dead with a pale face and his feet by his head, stuffed into a metal shelf, one arm hanging down at his side. I would not reccomend thhis film to anyone who can't stand blood and guts.

Summary: Much more fun than I expected
Review: After seeing the previews, I had no desire to see "Men in Black." It just looked silly and didn't make sense. I finally watched it only because my boyfriend had the tape in his collection and I was bored. Boy, did I misjudge this movie! It was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! Part of my problem with the previews is that I wasn't quite sure what the plot was about so let me start there. The "men in black" are part of a special super-secret immigration agency dealing with extraterrestrials. Unbeknownst to the general population, space aliens have been living amongst us for several decades. As long as they behave, they are welcome. If they misbehave, they may be deported or zapped with some pretty fancy weaponry. Will Smith plays an ultra-hip New York police officer who comes to the agency's attention after chasing down a space alien. Tommy Lee Jones plays his very experienced, suave partner. Jones' dead serious interactions with the panoply of odd aliens is outrageous. And although I'm not a Will Smith fan, I have to admit that in MIB he's just just too cool for words! MIB is definitely a must for the video library!

Summary: A New Comedic Duo Emerges!!
Review: Being very wary of TV stars turned movie makers-I was not incredibly optimistic. And I was 100% wrong! Will Smith mkaes the transition from prime time to film look effortless. His tv roots only helped his incredible comedic timing and obvious energy in the movie. And what a treat to see Harvard-grad Tommy Lee Jones taking a fun turn! His stoic,tounge in cheek performance stole the film!
Where the two leads were great-the supporting cast kept right up with them. Most noteable were Rip Torn (Nadine) and Vincent D'Onfrio(Ed Wood,The Player) as, repectivly, Zed and "The Bug". Rip Torn, a veteran actor of stage and film, brings such fun into the movie as Zed, the head of MIB. He is obviously enjoying the chance to go nuts with his character. And D'Onfrio, who seems to morph for every role he does, is totally off the wall as a bug packed too tighly into an "E'gar" suit. His physical comedy in MIB shows us yet another side of him.
Probably the best highlights, as a New Yorker myself, were the one-liners.Using the world fair as a cover up for alien landings was brilliant-and Frank the Pug sitting next to a "statue" of Riff Raff from "Rocky Horror Picture Show" was classic. All in all-a movie lovers' movie!!

Summary: We Love This Movie
Review: My family and I love this movie, it is funny with lots of action without. It is good enough that the whole family can watch and everyone will get a great laugh out of it. We have watched this show many many times and we never get tired of it. Men in Black II looks like it will also be just has good and cannot wait to see it.
I also like the DVD extras, I love watching with the commentaries and hearing the stories behind each scene.

Summary: "Whatever You Say Slick...."
Review: Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. There had to of been a couple of raised eyebrows when people first heard of this big screen pairing. What will these two be like together?. Some might've thought it was a recipe for disaster. On the contrary. Jones and Smith clicked. They just melted together like butter. Sure the effects and make-up and all that was fun and well done, but it's the on screen chemistry of this new duo that makes this film the fun it is. Director Barry Sonnenfeld(The Addams Family movies, Get Shorty, Big Trouble)directs this highly entertaining summer movie that is one heck of a pleasing journey. Will Smith plays a rookie cop who is recruited by the MIB to work opposite Agent K(Jones)to keep track of aliens on earth. Their main adversary here is an alien who has inhabited the body of a farmer, played hysterically by Vincent D'Onofrio. D'Onofrio is quite incredible as the human taken over by the alien. The skin doesn't fit right and he is rapidly decaying. Gross and funny. Rip Torn is on hand as the leader of the MIB group. Linda Fiorentino shows up as well as Dr. Laurel Weaver. Another familiar face here is Tony Shalhoub("Wings", "Thirteen Ghosts", "Big Night")as an alien passing as a human. Smith and Jones know better. The make-up is very good. The effects are satisfying. The movie moves along at a nice rate where there isn't much time for the film to slag, or the audience to wander off. It's brisk and enjoyable. This is a film that could almost of been directed by Tim Burton. Burton's longtime composer, and musical genius, Danny Elfman, composed the movie with the great kind of score we come to expect from him. Again, this movie really lies in the hands of Jones and Smith. They deliver some great comic moments. It just comes across as very natural. It's nice to see the notoriously serious Tommy Lee do something funny. "Men In Black II" looks like it will uphold the tradition of this first film too. I hope it can keep the same kind of fun/cool of this one. That's what this movie and others like it are for. They are not here to be overly analyzed and taken seriously. Look at some of the more harsher reviews and you'll know what I mean. You have to go to a summery like popcorn movie and know that you are seeing a summery popcorn movie. It can be a good, intelligent, well done movie without having some Oscar-worthy plot. You gotta know that going in. Anyways, this is a fun treat for anyone who likes fun entertainment. Who doesn't?.
