Summary: Nod ya head!
Review: When I went to see this movie, I had no idea how it would be like. That way, going to the theatre with an open mind, allowed me to enjoy the hilarious moments this movie provides, especially Frank the Pug, who is the funniest character of both MIB movies.
Sure, some parts are recycled from the first one, but it still is great entertainment. I think it is almost as good as the original. The only element missing is originality, but after a blockbuster success like the first movie, it is difficult to explore new territories without ruining the series. So watch it and just let the laughs out.

Summary: Exactly the same as the first except...
Review: This one is actually funny. I hated the first one. It took a fairly original idea and went with the most obvious and easy jokes imaginable.I honestly think that this one was made with me in mind. I'm one of the only people I know who didn't like the first one. And the only part of it that I found funny was the part where Will Smith dragged the table across the floor. The sequel was filled with jokes along those lines. It was a slightly different kind of humor from the first one and that's all it needed to get my approval. I really look forward to having this one. I really think that it will be a good movie to watch when I'm in a bad mood. This seems like it will be a good pick-me-up kind of movie... just like Mallrats.

Review: As a movie critic I have seen a verioty of differant movies. Scince I'm not much on curseing I'd have to say that this movie was a great movie! I was better than I thought it was going to be & much better than the first one! definatley *****!!!!!
If you liked MIB 1 you'll love MIB 2!!! It's that simple.

Summary: Fun movie
Review: MIB2 was just what I look for in a movie - lots of laughs, fun scenes and no semblance to reality. Tommy Lee and Will were great together. I don't need chemistry - I need actors to deliver their lines in believable scenes. One does not go to this kind of movie expecting plot. MIB1 was awful regarding plot. Not as good as MIB1 but enjoyable, worth the price of admission and left the theater feeling good.

Summary: Better than I was expecting, given the negative reviews
Review: MEN IN BLACK II is not nearly as good as the original, but after seen all the horrible reviews, I was expecting to really dislike it. Fortunately, it wasn't bad at all. Great? No. Horrible? No. The only way that MEN IN BLACK II can be considered a bad movie is in direct comparison with the original. If one were to see this one, never having seen the first, I think the experience would be a very pleasurable one. Will Smith is as likable in this one as in the first, and I enjoyed a lot of the accoutrements from the original are back. Tony Shaloub, one of my favorite character actors, reprises his role as Jack Jeebs, and provides some funny moments. Rosario Dawson was fine in her role, though it could have been a expanded with ease. And Lara Flynn Boyle made a believable and successful villainous. My one disappointment was with Tommy Lee Jones, who I almost always love. His performance was fine, but the script doesn't do nearly as much with his memory loss as they might have, and the completely sudden way he gets his memory back makes for a rough transition. I felt Frank the Pug and the worm guys could have had slightly (or even much) smaller roles. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the original, as long as they realize that it isn't as good as the first one.

Summary: MIIB doesnt have the right touch
Review: first of all, for all you people who saw MIB and want to see the sequel, don't waste your money, its cheaper just to watch the previews on tv. the cast and crew of MIB 2 has made the same mistake as so many other filmakers have by putting every single funny part in tyhe movie in previews.
this movie also has several other faults. 1: the length of the movie. the movie is 88 minutes long. that isnt as long as most disney movies. the film has the feel of a disney movie to, except with more sex appeal through the quite beuatiful villain. 2: the movie is to serious to have a place in the MIB franchise. will smith is not as comic as he was in the beginning, and tommy lee jones talks to fast to be funny. such as when he sees will smith again, and quickly mutters," ive never worked in a retirement home, what can i do for you slick?"
if you appreciate the third austinn powers film, this is a good film to see.

Summary: Enjoyable enough
Review: Surprisingly enjoyable sequel boasting good action sequences, often dazzling special effects, some pleasingly funny moments and good-natured performances from the two leads. In a nutshell, a tentacled alien has returned to earth to capture some wonderful "light" unadvisedly kept here during a previous visit. This light will, if I understood the "plot" correctly, make her all-powerful - or something like that - and only Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) can stop her. Unfortunately, K has been neuralised into an overly efficient postmaster whom Agent J (Will Smith) must de-neuralise back into an MIB! Confused? Who cares! This is all, almost unashamedly, just a vehicle for Smith, Jones and the very latest CGI. A few of the jokes do fall a bit flat with the - not always as sharp as it should have been - script occasionally leaving the lead with the most screen time (Smith) just to flounder. Beyond this, Frank the dog, the megalomaniacal pop star cameo and the "worm guys" really weren't as funny as the filmmakers seem to have imagined they'd be and we could have done without the "joke" which implies a forty year old conspiracy theorist (told off by Agent J for still living with Mom) responds by doing her in with a shovel! At its best, however, MIIB is often ingenious (the clues K must uncover and follow to fully remember where the light is; what goes on in K's locker, how to neuralise the entire city, and so on) and generally entertaining. Overall, this is a decent summer blockbuster which should appeal to fans and non-fans alike (though haters of Will Smith should steer well clear) but will perhaps be enjoyed best of all by those who, like myself, haven't seen the original film since its cinema release some five years ago. Danny Elfman's terrific score was another point in this film's favour!

Review: I THOUGHT THE MOVIE WAS GREAT AND I WILL GO AND SEE THE MOVIE AGAIN AND AGAIN. I THOUGHT THAT WILL SMITH AND TOMMY LEE JONES WHERE AWESOME. I CAN'T FOR IT COME OUT ON DVD.

Summary: Men in Cheap Suits
Review: For such a belated (and now unwanted) sequel to feel so much like a quick-rehash to cash in on the original's success is weird. This movie had 5 years (and some false-starts) to refine and for the filmmakers to really make it something special for the fans and to pay tribute to the brilliant Men in Black. It never happened. Instead we have a plot (that doesn't even make sense) so wafer thin it's almost invisible and repeats of old scenes. Always, always, always a bad, bad, bad mistake for a sequel. NEVER homage or try to be smart by repeating scenes. John Carpenter did this with Escape from LA and that was lost on almost all audiences. Just like what has happened with MIB II. I did expect this to be a huge hit. But it's gone largely unnoticed because it's asking for money for old rope. David Cross (who played the morgue attendant in the original) has the only funny scene and I swear any other laughs will be no more than exagerated smiles. You'll want to enjoy, but won't. Lara Flynn Boyle is not the uber-[female] her character should have been. And Rosario Dawson has NOTHING to do in her role at all. I don't want to say that she is a bad actress because the part offered her so little to do. Not even so little. It was nothing. Never before in my life have I seen such a pointless character. All she did was stand around with her eyes open in amazement. That's it. Had her character been called Laura MacGuffin instead of Laura Vasquez it would have been a tiny bit acceptable. What IS the deal with that silly 'light' nonsense? Plus the chemistry between Smith and Jones is gone. It's simply not there and there is no spark. Jones originally didn't even want to do this film (Linda Fiorentino was supposed to return) and he seems like someone totally different. First time round he was wise and crafty. Here he is just a gear in the machine. There's no magic. No comic timing. MIB II should have been one of those surprising sequels that blows the original out of the water. Like Gremlins 2 for example. Spielberg was producer on that movie too. It came 6 years after the first. MIB II had 5. And it seems like they just hastily threw it together in a couple of weeks. It is so puzzling. And what is even weirder is that the Men In Black Limited Edition DVD has a trailer for MIB II. And that DVD was released in Fall 2000! (ages before this film's eventual release, where they aiming for a summer 2001 release?) And the trailer for MIB II on this DVD is anamorphically enhanced at 2.35:1. But the actual film itself is 1.85:1. I found this to be one of the most strangest things of all. It's practically false advertising. Oh well, I don't want to give the film 1/5. I really don't. Not when MIB deserves a sequel so much better. And by giving it 1/5 I am, in a way, insulting the original. But I must. Sorry.

Summary: 1 star for the dog, 1 for the worms & 1 for the mini-aliens
Review: Far from what I expected... this movie confirmed the old saying about second parts, which is a pity. So much more could have been done with the script! In the end, the dog that served as partner to Jay (Will Smith) for a little while; the worms that were partying in a hotel room, and the miniature aliens in a locker in central station, provided the distinctive comedy elements that made the movie take 3 (and not two) stars. As for the Smith and Jones, very dim performances, specially Tommy Lee Jones'.
