Summary: Friggin Awesome!!
Review: Funny, exciting, packed with chicks and great fighting scenes, and best of all it's not afraid to show some blood. I recommend this to anyone that's got some taste in movies. One question though-wouldn't it have been easier if they just blew up the bugs from space instead of sending out the mobile infantry??

Summary: Hehehe
Review: We have such an interesting culture spread. This is so Unheinlein its not funny. It is, however, very gory, which is apparently a major selling point in our society. It contains no message whatsoever, as far as I can tell, and is much like the bland alternative music of today whose theme is one of capitalist money making, not art. I personally thought it portrayed a future society somewhat well, in that it did have some interesting bits of culture shock. I feel kinda bad giving it a 3 stars though, as it really deserves lower, but I must admit that a lot of people would enjoy it, as it is definately a quintessential example of a money making movie.

Summary: One cool movie..
Review: Starship Troopers is probably my favorite movie, it's got outstanding special effects, (which i think should have gotten the Oscar) it's got a great sense of humor, plus it's got huge bugs! So what the plot is a little weak, or the acting wasn't top, it was still a cool, fun, energetic movie, people are taking it much to seriosly, you have to see it for what it is. The special FX will just blow you away!

Summary: Worst acting I have ever seen
Review: I went to the movie with great exspectations and I don't think I was ever more disappointed. A complete waste of money. The worst acting I have ever seen. No storyline whatsoever. The lone star is only for some great FX. I cannot believe they plan a second one of this trash.

Summary: One of the best films ever!
Review: Starship Troopers is fantastic. Don't believe those political-correctness-people who say it's fascist, militant or dumb. It mocks fascism and makes fun of the military the same way 'Aliens' did - by letting those pretty boys & girls become nothing more than alien-fodder. Despite their 'mighty' weapons. It's a highly intelligent movie (perhaps too intelligent for the average US-movie-goer who is below 20 years old) and far away from the mainstram-crap that was 'Lost in Space'. Starship Troopers belongs to the best sci-fi ever. Only the Star Wars trilogy, 2001, Aliens and the Fifth Element can compete. And the DVD? O.k. you have to swap it to see the special features - but that's the only drawback. The trailer is definitely the best trailer of the 90's - and already worth the money. Buy it!!

Summary: Vastly underrated. Needs to viewed a minimum of 3 times.
Review: The subtext is important in this one. Verhoeven takes a post-'Independence Day'-bug-bad-guy imperative and creates a movie that works at more than one level. See if you can catch the reference to 'Total Recall' which makes one wonder exactly what strings the 'Games and Theory' branch of the armed forces are pulling and when. Delve into what might make a fascist utopia tick or just enjoy the song at the prom, the shower scene, actor Marshall Bell's Jack Nicholson impersonation or just a bunch of nasty enemy bug killing. Not even the Nazis can give us so loathesome of a foe and I'll bet you no one can give more life to this novel by Heinlein. What's the moral? I don't want to give that away, it's too much fun trying to decide but... you've gotta watch it at least 3 times.

Summary: Don't be a snob
Review: Bottom line - if you can appreciate a movie for what it's intended to be, then this is a great movie. If you expect every movie to live up to some mythical standard of excellence, it's crap. Sit back, relax and stop thinking...

Summary: Star sh*t poopers
Review: all this movie needed was three things: 1. Better acting 2. Better character development 3. Better plot

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Take it for what it's worth... idiots
Review: Starship Troopers is a great "comic book" movie, both visually and in its simplicity of plot. It was made to entertain, not be a documentary of how a battle should be won or a movie advocating a cause. OF COARSE it is not to be taken seriously. I can't believe some of the previous reviewers' comments. What were you expecting, "Saving Private Ryan." Get a grip... idiots.

Summary: Should have won Academy Award for Animation. Very unique.
Review: Read the book as a kid. Was teased by the long lead time teasers (just like Fantastic Four). Got my kids interested. Was one of very few people to actually see the movie in the theatre. Most visually memorable scene in the movie was when Mike Ironsides peers over the top of quick fab fort to see onslaught of bugs. Fun for the entire Science Fiction family. Soap Opera style romance for the ladies and bug action for the rest of us. Eagerly awaiting the sequel! Not for younger kids with all the horrific bug and sexual equality action.
