Review: The special effects rocked, story good, actors fine, Bugs cool but could have had a more variaty of them. I had rented it 3 times then bought it when came out on DVD and I never lost interest. I would recommend this to any Star Wars, Aliens, and Star Trek fan.

Summary: a great movie for sci fi fans
Review: I thought starship troopers was a great movie. I loved it because of the content inside of it. You see all of these images about our history, during wwII and other wars, about the government using propoganda to recruit soldier to defend their nation. It's neat to see what it would look like in the future. Only it's one world united in a federation to defend their planet. And it's not like those old war movies that show out of date weapons and equipment, but this movie shows what things might look like in the future. And I'd love to see the sequel. I hear about these reviews about how it was nothing like the book, get over it, the director has a budget...do I have to spell it out...b-u-d-g-e-t. Also, you can't have people going to the hospital while filming the movie just because a couple of people want to see the actual suits that the troopers wear in the book. The actors were working out in the desert...what do you expect. Plus, those power suits had to be heavy enough (around 100 lbs, plus or minues a couple of lbs.) it's just common sense that they couldn't have made it like the book. But they are making a sequel and they say they have the money to introduce the suits and the weapons that the bugs use. It's a great movie...the special effects were awesome, the lines were cheesy but hey, its' a minor flaw, and the action sequences were great. I loved the gore in that movie. It made me feel like I wanted to join the marines and go off to some distant war. It's supposed to give the audience a thrill, and a look back at out world's history. And I think the director was trying to tell us not to repeat the atrocities that happend in past confrontations. All in all, it was a great movie. Don't let anyone tell you it wasn't.

Review: This was one of the best sci-fi movie I have ever seen. It had great special effects and a good story. My favorite part was when one of the troopers got slashed in half by one of the bugs. One question I would like answered is how many computers they had to make this movie. I recomend this to blood and guts viewers.

Summary: misses the whole point of book
Review: I don't write reviews normally, but this is an awful movie. My daughter ( age 12) had just finished reading the book. I had also read the book to my son ( age 9). Both had liked the story and wanted to see the movie. We did and walked out in horror. Nothing in this movie is right! The troops in the book had full combat suits. The soldiers in this movie had about as much armor as a policeman. The tactics in the book were fast in/out types. In the movie they acted more like they were playing capture the flag. Finally the whole lesson of citizenship and honor were plowed under. I love the book and have an insane hope that someone will make a movie of it that focuses on the story, not the effects. In movies like Star Wars and Aliens the effects were good, but the story is what made them special.I cared about Luke or Ridley. This movie just trashes the story.

Review: Robert Heinlein is the master of science fiction. "Starship Troopers" is an all time SF classic. Movie adaption is for the modern young audience... and great for SF fans! A wonderful movie! I waited years for a movie of "Starship Troopers" and I am not disappointed. Fabulous recording on DVD! A must have movie! Special effects of "bugs" is spectacular. If you like this Heinlein story, you will also like "The Puppet Masters", another SF classic, which takes place in "present times".

Review: When I first heard of Starship Troopers and it's intense scenes of action and gore, I was pumped. So as any good movie lover would do I found the book and began to read it. Only 250 some pages it's a quite days read, I think I've read it about 7 time over the last year alone. The book is intense in another way. . . . it makes you think about war and our society's past, present and future. If you have not read this master peace DO IT NOW. You thank me later.
