Summary: Best Trek Yet!
Review: This is a bit better then 1st Contact, with better special effects

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: It was all in fun. T'was never meant to be a blockbuster.
Review: Speaking as a Trekker, it was a good, odd-numbered film. Yes, it would've made a better episode, but hey, don't they all? Trek movies are extensions of the series. Only Star Treks 2, 4 and 8 merit blockbuster status. It was mostly a Picard-love story with the usual Utopia planet. A girly movie ending with the usual "out-of-sight, out-of-mind" love interest. The Roddenberry essence is lost. Has been since his death. Rick Berman has sculpted Trek in his own image. Jonathan Frakes continues to be an exemplary director. Jerry Goldsmith did outstanding score. Data and Riker had some choice moments, Worf was reduced to a mere token Klingon, and poor Crusher, Troi & LaForge were just along for the ride. It's a fun movie with funny moments. Don't put Star Trek movies on a pedestal so high no one will want to see it. You can let your kids watch it.

It SUCKED.

Summary: Might have been a good episode. . .Maybe.
Review: I think the thing that upset me the most about this movie was the enemy. A Star Trek movie can only be as good as the bad guys. Those of you who have seen First Contact know what I am talking about. First Contact dealt with creatures that we as viewers had had a history with when watching the television series. Now these bad guys in Insurrection show up and are supposed to make me care about their cause? I don't think so. While watching this movie I had no feeling that the good guys were in any danger. Throughout the entire movie I just wanted to scream, "SO WHAT!! WHO CARES!!!" Another problem was the humor. First Contact blended humor with action seamlessly. Those guys at Paramount Pictures were trying too hard to make this a funny movie that it just came off looking bad. It was not funny at all. For half of the movie I felt like slapping Data. Those of you who have seen this movie know what I am talking about. Don't get me started on the special effects. You want a quality movie, go with First Contact.

Summary: Response and Review
Review: Without, I hope, sounding pretentious or rude, I felt it was my obligation to respond to another customers opinion of this movie as well as give my own review. First of all, this section is supposed to be devoted to review of the DVD itself not the movie itself. Second of all, even if it was for the movie I felt that his comments were unjustified and senseless. I am not an obsessive Trekkie(er) who goes around defending the Star Trek franchise until I am green in the face. We all know that Insurrection, like any movie, had it's highpoints and low points. Why should someone tear down the opinion of this movie for other viewers and ruin the effect of the website? If I had randomly come to this site and read his/her "review", I would never had wasted my money and oredered it. My point, in short, is this. If you can't say anything constructive or factual, don't waste other peoples time with your nonsense. BTW, Insurrection was a great movie and I recommend it to anyone who loves comedy and action with a little romance on the side.

Review: I really liked the movie. It had really good special effects

Summary: Awesome and easy to understand for a non-trekkie.
Review: I thought it was very funny and exciting. I had never seen Star Trek film and I thought it was great! I enjoyed watching it and I would see it again! The movie was not that much of a Sci-Fi movie, the plot and characters were spectacular! A great movie to see.

Summary: This was a fun Trek film
Review: This was a fun Trek film. Not the best, but the best of the odd number Trek movies to date. The cast and production was top noch, but the script belongs on the small screen.

Summary: Horrible F/X, horrible script... I warn you!
Review: Garbage, that's what it is. No matter if you are a trekker or just a simple moviegoer. Boring actors, boring director, stupid script, horribly dirty rotten f/x. Everything here is an insult to the audience, from the very beginning (with those main titles reminding you of a B-type movie) to the very end. Counting down using "minutes" and "seconds"? How is it possible for Piccard to know about the complicate procedures to disable that "thing" orbiting the planet? What about all those stupid phrases containing terms such as "metaphysical energy"? Where have all the writers gone? Is this the Roddenberry legacy? I don't really think so... but, just in case, I won't ever go to see the next ST movie: "STAR TREK 10: MAMBO GLAMOROSO" (and extended version of ST9 including more deleted scenes of Piccard dancing along with mambo music inside the Enterprise's holodeck , Riker having sex with Troy in the kitchen, Data suffering of an embarrasing loss of makeup (take a look at his neck towards the end of the movie...), and much, much more... Please, don't make audiences all over the world suffer with such a thing like this one. I used to be a trekker... until yesterday, and I have something to tell them: be critics!!
