Summary: Great movie, great quality, but...
Review: The movie is great, the quality of the image and the sound is outstanding! (really, it's one of the best DVD's I've ever seen), but it lacks of "extra features", it's a shame that there is no trailers, nor production notes, these would have made this excellent disc, a classic.

Summary: Yet another disapointing Sci Fi film.
Review: It amazes me that many of the editorial reviews insult the interesting Sci Fi films(Dark City, Bladerunner) and praise the lousy ones(no offense to the editors). The Fifth Element could have been interesting but instead is just kind of dumb. The plot feels like it is out of a videogame(not the good ones but the corny ones). Bruce Willis must find the stones of Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind(is anyone else reminded of the Final Fantasy games) in order to save the world. While the films plot is very contrived the futuristic wrld of the Fifth Element is incredibly detailed and interesting. One realy feels as though he has been transported into the New York of the futur and the film's incredible atmosphere almost makes it worth while. What realy srews this movie up however is two of it's characters. It's first is the villian who is played by Gary Oldman(one would think that he would make a terrific bad guy but somthing must have gone terribly wrong). The character is very millitaristic but at the same time has a very feminen posture and attitude. I don't what the director was trying to convey with this character but he failed miserably. The next problem is a cross-dressing talk show host played by Chris Tucker. I guese that he was ment for comic relief but all he does is annoy the hell out of the audience. Together they do more harm to the Fifth Element that Jar Jar Binks and Anakin Skywalker did to the Phontom Menace. Style can some times make up for a lack of suppstance but not here.

Review: Well first I'll start with what I liked about the movie. The special effects were wonderful, Milla did a very convincing bit of acting as leeloo, and I love Gary Oldman. Now, moving on. Bruce Willis was typically, well.. Bruce Willis. If you like him you'll like this. However all I could think when I saw this was, "Look! It's Die Hard With a Purpose!" Oh by the way, Have you seen "Heavy Metal"? Hint, hint. Seriously there was a lot of theft from Heavy Metal in this movie..not borrowing, I mean theft. I'll watch it, but I wouldn't buy it.

Review: Milla is a Goddess! I own every DVD she has, but I cant find 'Return to the Blue Lagoon'! Are they ever going to convert thet movie to DVD?

Summary: Better than "The Phantom Menace"
Review: This movie obviously took a lot more thought than George Lucas put into his latest Star Wars creation. I refused to go see this movie in theaters because I thought it would be a Star Wars wannabe. I was so wrong. the characters have more personality than any of the characters in George Lucas's movies ever have. Although Bruce Willis gave a typical performance, Chris Tucker made the movie. Tucker steals the show as the extremely flamboyant DJ who gets involved in a plot to save the world by accident. If anyone has not seen this movie, I suggest that you do. It will no doubt become a classic one day.

Summary: Ian Holm makes the movie
Review: A terrible plot but there are some really funny scenes and some great one-liners. A film you just can't take seriously. Ian Holm, most people will remember as the robot in Alien, has great comedic timing. Some very good visuals as well. I keep this DVD in my collection for Holm's performance as well as the visuals.

Summary: very entertaining
Review: It is not the first time that Bruce Willis saves the earth, but al least this time he does it in style! One of the great Sci-Fi movies that make you laugh because it is actually funny, and because you are making fun of it. Mila Jovovich was the biggest surprise (for me) in this movie. She was not simply a pretty woman and a part of the props; she was very convincing and a genuine part of the cast. Luc Besson is a master Director and I really hope he will keep up the good work. As for the DVD itself, well it is DVDs like that that reminds me why I invested in a good Home theater, the picture is crystal clear, the sound is superb, and you have choice between wide screen or standard edition.

Summary: The Best
Review: It's not meant to be scary or anything along that lines...It's a funny movie. First off, Bruce Willis was sooo well cast for this (in a way reminds me of his Moonlighting days!), Milla was pretty ok (much better then her Joan Of Arc performace) and the rest of the supporting cast rocks. I have seen this movie 1 billion times, thanks in part to HBO. As funny as it is, I actually cried during one scene....only once though. It's a great freaking film!

Summary: Great DVD for sight, sound and sci-fi
Review: The Fifth Element will be a Science Fiction cult film classic, right up there with Blade Runner. The entire cast does an excellent job of providing suspense, comedy, thrills and awesome visual and sound effects. In a good surround home theater system it is one of the best to enjoy. It is a must for the home theater, one you will watch many times, and enjoy everytime.
