Review: Overall, this is a good movie. The combination of animation and computer imaging is incredible. I've never seen anything like some of the scenes in here. This is a very dark story, saying that Earth will be destroyed. There is a lot of action, and violence. If you like action sci-fi, you'll love this. And if you're like me, a die-hard sci-fi addict, you'll probably like it too. What the film lacked was drama. Maybe this is just me, since I like Dramas better than action. But it seemed every scene someone would come in and try to shoot them or something. Matt Damon and Drew Barrymore do great as the voice talents. The two main characters, Kale and Akeema, are pretty likeable. As I said, overall, this is a good movie. Sci-fi fans should see it. You'll probably like it.

Summary: Titan A.E. is a spectacular film
Review: Recentley I had the pleasure of viewing what I believe to be the best animated film in quite awhile. Titan A.E. is a marville in its animation, storyline, and use of twists, turns, and humor. This is the kind of movie that makes you lean back in you seat and smile. There are some magical movies out there that give someone goosebumps. This is one of them. A spectacular adventure about a boy who gets seperated from his father as an alien species attacks the earth. The boy grows up but looses all pride in the human race. Tword the end of the movie he realizes why his father did what he had to do, and what he now has to do. You will not soon forget this film.

Summary: Puts Animation on a Whole New Plane
Review: It's hard to overpraise Titan A.E. While hardcore sci-fi addicts will find their way to this flick, I hope it finds an audience among people who just like a good drama or a good action film with good values, because Titan A.E. has all that and more. The film is set almost 1,000 years in the future in the last few minutes of earth. The planet is being evacuated because an alien race, the Drudge, is about to blow our earth to smithereens. Our hero, eight-year-old Cale, is separated from his scientist father. Cale just barely makes it off of earth before it is demolished, as does Cale's father, captaining his own ship, the Titan. Cale will never see his father again. Fifteen years elapse. Most of mankind has been obliterated. Cale is 23 and does scut work on a space station. The few human beings left alive live on space stations and retain but dim memories of what life on earth was like. But a mysterious stranger seeks out Cale, and reveals that Cale has the map to the location of his father's old ship, the Titan, which has the power to fight off the Drudge and thus regenerate the human race. This film is so good you forget it's animation. The animation is first rate, approaching "anime" standards, and also uses rotoscoping, photographic backgrounds and models, as appropriate. The epic quest Cale undergoes is almost "Star Wars" in dimension. There's plenty of action but no gratuitous violence or profanity. There is, however, a strong female second lead in Akima, a ship's pilot of Asian ancestry. The film did well in theaters, and it deserves to do well in the home market, especially among preteens.

Review: Hi, I walked into this movie without a clue as to what it was about.. but I laughed, and I cried.. and found it to be the most amazing animated movie that I have ever seen.

Review: I saw Titan A.E. yesterday and it was pretty good but the plot was a little bit weak. Barrymore and Damon do great jobs being voice talents. Not recomended if you expect it to be like Star Wars because well, it's not as good. The plot was just...DIFFERENT

Summary: Not Quite Titanic
Review: Titan A.E. has a lot of to live up to. Recent Disney films, though very cliched, have followed a very straight forward, good conquers all storyline. As a result, these have grossed up and beyond the 100 million mark. So, coming up with a new idea is indeed very risky, especially when you spend 90 million dollars on it, like the makers of Titan A.E. did. The film takes place in the 31st century, the earth has been blown up by an alien race, and humans are now restricted to doing slave work in space and are dying of at a rapid pace. A drifter named Cal, whose father was lead designer of "the titan project", a craft which has the ability to reproduce earth as we know it. Cal (voiced by Matt Damon) soon finds out his destiny and goes on a quest to find the ship. The storyline is a mix of Star Wars and the recent flop Battlefield Earth. Its a shame the movie used cliches of both films, and could never develop the charcters into a group the people would care about. There are certain twists in the movie, but nothing that actually throws you. The animation is probably the only real reason to see this movie. The mix of CGI backgrounds and animation make the movie look outstanding. The developers had the unfortunate privilage of coming off the horrid Battlefield Earth and Dinosaur. If the story was a little more grounded, and the charcters were a little more developed, this could have been a blockbuster film. Unless you are looking for great animation, but shallow plot, stay away from this film.

Summary: Surprising
Review: It seems that in the world of animation, there are two types of people. There are those who are hooked on Disney, and there are those who are hooked on anime. Most anime makes me sick to my stomach, so I fall under the "hooked on Disney" category. Pity the poor PG animated movie, which falls in between two almost opposite worlds. The fact that Titan A.E. was both a PG animated movie and a Don Bluth film meant that it had two strikes against it when it opened. Yet when I saw the movie, I was surprised. The story is actually quite reasonable. It's nothing spectacular, but it's still reasonable. At least it did something, unlike the static and bleak Dinosaur. Okay, so there were a few flaws, and some things were brought up but never explained, but these flaws weren't distracting and didn't stop the movie from being enjoyable. The environment is amazing, showing the beauty of space and of space travel. This is especially true towards the climax. If for nothing else, watch the movie for this. The characters speak and act on an acceptable level and even get a little development, but it's nothing blindingly outstanding. The animation ranges from above average to obviously flawed, but this doesn't detract. Parents beware. This is NOT a family film. There's a fair amount of bloody violence in this movie. This movie is for action fans. But for people who are fans of animation and of action, Titan A.E. should prove satisfying. However I must say this. Titan A.E. is not a "feel good" type of film. If you want a movie like that, wait for Chicken Run.

Summary: Dramatic yet almost magic at the same time
Review: This movie actually deserves a 4.5. I went to this movie not sure of what to expect as I haven't seen too many sci-fi cartoons before. The movie was, well, excellant. The storyline was relatively unique, complete with unforseen plot twists and non-kiddie-style humor that can truely make you laugh. This is not a humorous movie, though. This is a dramatic movie that has you on teh edge of your seat as you watch, from the destruction of earth to the journy through the ice field right to the ending itself. When the end comes you want more, not because of unanswered questions but because this film was so great that the time semed to just fly by (the movie is the nice length of about 1h, 30 mins. It just seems like less). The relationship between Cale and Akima (the main charecters)is toned down, which is good because seeing them fall in love would only be cliche and un-fitting for the movie itself. As for animation, the hand drawn and realistic 3D stuff worked together very well. The animation was smooth, detailed, and oddly mystic in some scenes (such as the sequence with the space angels). The detail in the ice field sequence was mind blowing in it's realness and detail. My only problem with this movie was it's soundtrack. The songs weren't all that great, and at times were distracting from the animation itself.

Review: Titan A.E. is a masterpiece of film making. Using the lastest in computer technology the people at Fox studios have brought a film with the most dazziling effects since "The Matrix". Titan A.E take place in the year 3000 A.D. when mankind has developed a new technological wonder called the Titan. Yet due to mans achievement an Alien race known as the Drej attack and destroy earth. Now fifteen years later a young man named Cal is recruited by a small band of rebels to help and locate the Titan which his father hide. Yet Cals father left a map inside Cals hand so that he could one day find the titan. What happens next is a thrillride that will blow you away. The music to Titan A.E. is very good. The animation is the best I have seen to come out in this country. This by far has been one of the best summer films I have ever seen. Yet I must give a warning to all parents this is not a movie to take small children to see. This film contains scenes of violence, including blood when the characters are shot, and brief nudity. This film is recomended for ages 10 and up.

Summary: And It's only PG!
Review: I was recently able to view the movie Titan A.E. and it was great. It's about the few remaining humans living in space after Earth is gone (hence A.E) The movie includes high tension scenes with lots of action. It has a rating of only (PG) but I have no idea HOW it kept that, it pushes it's rating quite abit but in a good way, letting older viewers enjoy it as well. A lot of Computer/hand-drawn animation are mixed throughout the whole movie and give the film a great mood. I loved this move and think anyone who likes animation (japanese or otherwise) or just good sci-fi, will love it too
