Summary: Have barf bag close by . . . . .
Review: Excuse me . . . aarrgghh!!! This has got to be one of the worst movies EVER! Yes, it's that bad! I would rather listen to the awful sounds of Christian country singer Randy Coward than watch this again!

Summary: This is the one, people!!
Review: The first one is a far better crafted movie. While by no means a masterpiece, "Species" had a good ensemble cast and a nice star turn from then-unknown Natasha Henstridge.

But the sequel...Now there's a first-class piece of cheesy, trashy, campy entertainment. It's so much more fun. Henstridge is back (looking good as ever), and so is Michael Madsen. Madsen, just thinking of his performance in this makes me want to reach for the dvd. Throughout the whole movie, he seems to wish he was somewhere else. I'm not saying he merely appears to be bored with his character, no- Mr. Madsen seems downright contemptuous with the whole production! And that makes for a consistently entertaining movie.

James Cromwell did A TON of movies following his surprise Oscar nomination for "Babe". He must've taken just about every part offered to him, which would explain his presence here. He's waaaay over-qualified for the part, but he manages to turn in a credible performance. His scenes with his son in this movie are so ludicrous, credit must be given to Cromwell and the other actor for keeping straight faces.

The highlight of the movie for me: the supermarket chase scene. When Madsen knocks over the poor shelf-stocker, pulls his gun, and demands to know where the "G*dd*mn" cereal isle is.... Hmmm, I think I'll end this review and watch "Species II".

Recommended for "bad movie" lovers.

Summary: Its not a winner and its not a loser.
Review: A strange movie this is.It doesn't match up to the original, but it does have its moments the special effects are ok not too bad but for a film like this they could have done a lot better. The acting is pretty good but not too good and the script is in between ok and good. The score is not as powerfull as Christopher Young's but the soundtrack itself is good. The direction less than the acting. The sexuality is less than the original and the same goes for the nudeness. All in all the film is not a winner it is not a loser it is a fair film and a good one in the sci fi gerne. If you've seen the first one then you should surely see this one. The film's story is about the first man on mars in which he(Justin Lazard)gets infected by alien DNA and the three astronauts get infected by it as well. Another Sill is back this time cloned and an new name Eve and she is held in a high tech facility and while Marge Helgenberger is trying to find ways to defeat these alien beings. So Patrick(Lazard) is on the loose and the chase is on . When Patrick finishes having sex with countless women they give birth to little alien boys and they go threw a cocoon stage. There is sympathy felt for Eve in this one. The thing that really bothers me is that at the end of Species a sewer rat was infected with the alien stuff and it ate another rat and the movie ended. In this one it has nothing to do with a rat. If they make a 3rd one they better have the rat and the remains of the this one. Overall just give this one a try.

Summary: As bad Alien III and IV....with tons of gore.
Review: Well, what can one say about this picture? It has tons of gore and it will began with 1979's ALIEN, but here like Alien 3 and IV, and Predator I and II, there is no story, there is just a lot of violence, tons of gore, so many scenes that look like they were filmed at a porn studio, and the only possitive thing that one can say about it, is that it did so poorly at the box office that MGM decited not do anymore. Thank You.

Summary: Not as original
Review: Species taught us the meaning of safe sex and to be careful who you fall for in a science fiction world. Species was the debut of the very beautiful Natsha Henstridge and she makes her debut in the not so great sequel. I must say I saw this at the cinema but was dissapointed yet scared as well. It wasn't all bad. Though it was unfortunatly quite similar except it was a man this time instead of a woman and he succedes where the first one didn't. He makes 30 times more than what the first sil made. It starts to show it is not as good when the man goes to the extent of trying to rape a woman to make another child. This DVD though had an excellent Visual transfer with no flaws and great special effects. The sound was something to rock the house in Dolby Digital Sound. The extras were disspointing however. The extra scenes were mostly scenes in the movie however just different. In fact only one scene was not in the film and was a terrible scene. The only other extra features were audio commentary and a trailer. All in all this is a cautionary recommendation. Though do not buy this for the extras. You need to have enjoyed the film before even thinking of buying this

Summary: GORIEST SEQUEL IVE SEEN

Summary: Radio Serial Dialog
Review: "If these two aliens ever get together and mate, their offspring will be UNSTOPPABLE!" "we could borrow this lab's cyclotron and bombard her with radiation, but then her mating instinct would go off the charts!"

Campy, illogical, and gory, but amusing if you are in the right frame of mind.

Summary: Disappointing sequel to the excellent original
Review: Gorier than Species 1. None of the humor. Very little Natasha
Henstridge.

Summary: Yeah...it's another sequel made to steal your money.
Review: Like a lot of people, I felt that the original "Species" was a pretty fun little sci-fi flick. The movie wasn't anything groundbreaking but Natasha Henstridge and her co-stars were very watchable. It also seemed to have a nice, dry sense of humor to it.

Alas, "Species II" is nothing more than a movie made to capitalize on the surprise success of the first film. I initially had high hopes for it. James Cromwell and George Dzundza, both very talented actors, are in this sequel. It was also nice to see that there was a space of almost three years between the two movies. It didn't appear that the sequel was rushed out into the marketplace.

They might as well have made this movie and released it just six months after the original. It's awful and apparently no thought went into the screenplay whatsoever. Case in point: Michael Madsen reprises his role from the original film. He is again asked to track down a dangerous alien creature who is currently in human form. Madsen gets a hot tip that the alien is in a supermarket. He rushes to the supermarket and guess what he does. He enters the store and starts screaming at the top of his lungs. He knocks a store employee into a display and then points a gun at the poor guy. Gosh...so much for sneaking up on the alien, huh? The alien hears the commotion and takes off. This movie is just filled with stupid moments like that.

Not surprisingly, "Species II" left open the possibility for yet another sequel. I don't think the human species could handle that.
