Summary: E.T is a great movie ( only because Thomas Howell is in it)
Review: This is defintely one of the best films ever made! ( Well maybe it is in my case because Thomas Howell is in it) lol*, but other than that its great! Its about a little boy named Elliot, one night he goes outside into the woods, and discovers a little lost alien, he is scared at first ( I mean who wouldnt be?) but then they start to develop a friendship, and little did Elliot know that E.T could talk and communicate with Elliot! This movie stars C.Thomas Howell (Tyler) Sean Frye (Steve) K.C Martel (Greg) Dee Wallace (Mary Elliot's Mother)Henry Thomas(Elliot) Drew Barrymore (Gertie) Robert McNaughton (Micheal) and Peter Coyote as the scientist. I was kind of dissapointed because they didnt show too much of C.Thomas Howell, and that made me upset because I love him so much, and hes my favorite actor, but that parts that he was in were my favorite parts, like the bike scenes, and the bustop scene. I really do wish he was more, because thats the only reason why i bought this movie!

Summary: THE GREATEST FANTASY FILM OF ALL-TIME
Review: This is a film beyond any words. It is simply the most wonderful fantasy film of all time. Anyone thinking differently hasn't really searched his/her heart to see all the wonderous moments. Beautiful visually, the soundtrack is out of this world and a story which is timeless. I can't wait for the re-release in March where a whole new generation can see it for the first time in a theater, and the old-timers can experience the wonder all over again. I also can wait until it comes out on DVD with additional scenes, etc. A GREAT FILM FOREVER!!!!!!

Summary: One of a kind - ET
Review: We originally had ET on VHS but we played it so many times, especially for the Grandchildren, that it litterally wore out.
We have discovered that DVD color and sound is so much better we
now have requested it when the stock arrives.
The story itself is for "children of all ages".

Summary: Please Hollywood stop making bad movies
Review: I can't belive there are people who like this movie. And my biggest reason of all for giving this 1 star is because of most of the movie, we can hardly see E.T. If you found an alien in your backyard, would you secretly keep him and not tell your parents. That's the hero in this movie does. His name is Elliott (Henry Thomas). One night he finds E.T (voice of Michael Patrick Bilon) in his backyard. At first he tells his family and they don't believe him. But when E.T comes back, Elliott shows his family (except his mother, he shows him to his brothers and sister). I can't even believe this is a children's movie. But I think it should have gotten a PG-13 from the MPAA.

There is much better family movies, like Lilo & Stitch, Shrek, Monsters Inc, Ice Age, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, etc

Summary: An ideal example of the timeless classic!
Review: Having made quite an impact on audiences from the time of its theatrical release to the present day, Steven Speilberg's "E.T. The Extra Terrestrial" is one of the great movies of all time, a classic that lives up to the hype and popularity it has attained over the last two decades. Here is a movie that has proved itself as a true success, a standout film that still has not lost its ability to dazzle the young and old with its touching story and likeable characters.

I remember years ago to my childhood, when Thanksgiving was just not Thanksgiving without watching the movie play on television each year, to be replaced later with modern, though less enjoyable, holiday films. As a child, the movie filled me with a sense of awe and wonderment, tickling my funny bone while at the same time evoking dread and suspense as it draws near to its spectacular and unforgettable conclusion. Watching the movie today allows me to look back at this experience and realize that the movie still carries the same emotional strings for me.

The story of a young boy named Elliot who befriends a space alien left behind on Earth embodies great spirit, carrying with it the lessons of friendship, devotion, and love. Elliot, who names his new friend E.T., begins teaching the arrival the ways of humankind, sharing the secret with his siblings, who are equally entranced by the terrestrial.

These are some of the warmest moments in movie history, burning themselves into our hearts forever. The child in all of us easily finds a soft spot for the short-statured creature, who waddles along in a manner that steals the heart. One cannot help but instantly fall in love with E.T., whose thirst for knowledge is evident in his wide, endearing eyes. His innocence, and the warm nature of his friendship with Elliot, make the movie's final act a tour de force of emotion, from suspense of tears, sadness to joy. We will always remember the bicycle ride, a stunning display of special effects that actually have heart and soul to them, and an ending that is warm and meaningful.

Just as the creature earns a place in history, so do the human characters, acted under some very effective performances. Henry Thomas possesses terrific talent, and his performance as Elliot remains emotionally sweeping even by today's standards. Dee Wallace Stone is great as Elliot's mother, while Robert MacNaughton and a young Drew Barrymore are wonderful as his siblings.

"E.T." has earned itself a place in movie history, and deserves its praise and more. The film is a composition of sheer brilliance, a feast for the eyes and the heart that is captivating and enthralling. Watching it as a child proves to be the best experience, though those who watch it later in years may be tempted to recall their first experience with the film, which has an endearing nature that outshines most other films.

Summary: My favorite movie in the world
Review: E.T. is my all-time favorite. I told my 5 year old grandson the whole story from beginning to end because I have the original movie that I watch from time to time. One night we watched it together and ever since....every time he comes over....we pop popcorn and watch E.T. again. I purchased the remake on Amazon.com just in case something happens to my older tape.....I will have a back-up for us to enjoy. (...)

Summary: STOP!! it's perfect the way it is!!!
Review: This movie is one of the best classics of our time...unfortunately Spielberg is about to make an artistic mistake as Lucas did and add Cartoons to an already perfect movie. I tried immediately to purchase this on DVD with the old script intact, but alas it seems the studios placed a hold on the DVD versions to be released as the 'improved' version. Of course i'm interested to see the new effects, but at least give the audience a chance to choose between that of their childhood memories and the next generation's fad on 'almost lifelike' animation.

Summary: Maybe the all time biggest masterpiece
Review: I loved it when I watched it when I was 5 years old. I loved it when I was 13, I loved it more when I am 19. This movie for me is the most emotional movie of all time. The music is my favorite score from Williams which maybe is 50% of the picture. I just watched the new Special Edition trailer and got tears in my eyes again just by watching the trailer. I just can't wait for the re-release. And I recommend this movie to every human of every age. Watch this movie to "remember" that friendship doesn't have any boundries.

P.S.
I hope that in the DVD release of the Special Edition they put an isolated music track like in the Laserdisc Box Edition.
