Summary: You 'Evolution'ize into this movie!
Review: This made you laugh the whole way through. I thought it was a very clever movie. It didn't do well at the box office, but still it was a really good movie. I was hesitant to see this movie because I thought it was stupid. After I saw it. I loved it. It was a great comedy for this summer. I thought David Duchovny(X-FILES), Julianne Moore(HANNIBAL,MAGNOLIA), Sean William Scott(DUDE,WHERE'S MY CAR?), and Orlando Jones(7-UP SPOKESPERSON) was a really good cast to do this movie. They are really funny and are great actors. The movie is basically about a meteor hits earth and it is full of aliens. It starts to evolve and soon take over the earth. It is for them to stop it from doing that. It is outrageous and you'll love it. It takes place in Arizona. I hope you enjoy this. I recommend this!

Summary: Disappointingly unintereting and not many laughs.
Review: There are some funny movies you accept as guilty pleasures because you enjoyed them so much. I thought Evolution was going to be like that, but I was wrong. I just plain didn't like this movie, it was see-through stupid and frankly boring. Julianne Moore, Orlando Jones and Seann William Scott give a pinch of personality, but their performances can't save the ultimate sense of stupidity in the air. The extra-terrestrial's are appallingly ugly to look at. There is no comic rhythm or pattern in the movie, it's messy story-wise and the laughs are few and far between. Evolution is confused with what it's trying to achieve. Does it want to be an action movie? If so, the action scenes aren't tense or exciting. Comedy? As I mentioned before, not enough belly laughs. Sci-fi/horror? Succeeds in this area only because there are some quite scary bits involving a platypus cross turtle looking creatures that comes right in your face and the score goes up. The sci-fi has good story building at the start, but Evolution is too familiar, too tired and misses way too many opportunities.

Summary: I'd rather eat Zerba poop. Believe me, I have.
Review: Hi, it's me Bernie, reviewer of TOMB RAIDER: LAURA KRAFT.

Excuse, but sisters, this movie is just poohie! Only a gay man who got stuck on a blind date to the movies with a woman would watch this. I mean, Ivan Reitman ought to bust his own ghost! Um-K? So there's these fake aliens who try to take over the earth while holding a grandma hostage in a semi truck... Boring! And Mulder was here to investigate- where in the stinky pinky is Scully?????????????!!!!!!!!!!! Come on Reitman. Let's go teach you how to direct a movie. Jullianne Moore, Chris Farley and George Clooney co-star in this odd made moo-V. HA HA HA. [...] Skip this lay-moe moo-V.

Thanks so Much, Bernie Mocco

Summary: Surprisingly good
Review: I walked into Evolution very wary of the possibilities of pain I could endure in the forthcoming 2 hours. However my friends had decided to go and see it, so I thought I should come along. Surprisingly, I quite enjoyed it.

The concept...: aliens invade the earth. However the offbeat weirdness, twists and humour in the film make the seemingly dried-up concept work. There are some good gags, and the cast act well. The twist of the Chemistry connection makes it quite clever too.

Looking back on this film even, I find it difficult to understand why I liked it: I don't usually like that kind of film. But the one thing I do know is I did like this one.

Summary: What would you expect from Ivan Reitman?
Review: This is just a goofy-wacky crazy sci-fi flick aimed at spoofing other spacy, weird movies and having fun doing it. Its got good surprises, at least the ones the trailers don't give away, and thanks to Alonzo Jones, some hilarious slapstick and dialogue. Duchovny and Jones work well off one another, but Moore was thrown in as the typical and predictable love interest. Too bad. She could have had more of an impact, but it's just a loose show, with no real message other than having to save all of Amercia from mutating alien creatures. It's summer fun and nothing else. Don't see it if you're a sourpuss.

Summary: Hilarious The Millenium's Ghostbusters And Men In Black
Review: I just saw Evolution today and I half to say this is a great movie. This Is Ivan Reitman's new comedy masterpiece. The movie is a mixture of movies Ghostbusters,Men In Black,Lake Plaid and Jurassic Park. The film stars David Duchovony and Orlando Jones who are scientists who work at a college and are sent to a desert in Arizona to a discover a meter that crashed in the desert what they discover is an alien organism that can reproduce and grow into millions and keeps growing without stopping. The film also stars Sean William Scott and Julianne Moore.Great effects and story that will keep you laughing through the whole thing.

Summary: Tremendously disappointing for the talent involved.
Review: This is a stupid movie. It's funny in places, the creatures are cool and it's somewhat entertaining, but it's almost offensively stupid. It annoys me that this was not a better movie. Maybe director Ivan Reitman was intentionally shooting for the lowest common denominator, knowing that stupid and tasteless films by Adam Sandler and Tom Green make a LOT of cash from the teen demographic. I guess you can't fault Hollywood movie-makers for selling out to all that teen cash, but couldn't they at least make a good movie while they're at it? (I'm decades past my teens and loved American Pie, so it's clearly possible to make a good low-brow movie.) Duchovny tries to be Fox Mulder (only dimmer) and ends up looking embarassed (or maybe it was me being embarassed for him). Orlando Jones plays a college geology professor who not only doesn't seem to know geology but doesn't seem to care. On top of this, he is featured in the "I've got an alien creature up my [rear]" sequence where there are lots of close-ups on his pop-eyed face as a surgeon anally probes him and Duchovny and Moore pat his shoulder. Please. I hope he enjoys his cash. I hope they all do. Because I'm out [x] bucks of mine, and I'm not very happy about it.

Summary: Decent Sci-Fi Comedy
Review: Evolution is a movie about an alien life-form with an incredible evolution rate that crash lands onto our planet. I personally think that is a pretty decent sci-fi spoof. It has all the good elements needed to be one:

1) Good, funny actors. One of the reasons I really liked the acting in this movie is that all the actors appeared to really have enjoyed making this movie - no one seemed determined to outshine the other, or to win an oscar. David Duchovny, Orlando Jones and Seann William Scott made a humorous trio, although their scripts could have been touched up just a little bit more. Julianne Moore however seemed to have served no purpose except as to help add a sexual element to the story - her character drew no laughter or even interest from me.

2) Cheesy script chock-full of scientific babble and crude-but-amusing jokes. I found the plot very interesting, the delivery of the story to be entertaining, and I laughed often. However, i think it could have used a little more humor, and I'm not sure if I was laughing because the jokes were truly funny or because the people I was with were laughing. But regardless - there was laughter.

3) Imaginative special effects. Lots of creativity was put into designing the creatures at each evolutional state - my favorites were the primates and I wished that they had shown more of them.

Galaxy Quest, Men In Black, Ghost Busters, heck - even Spaceballs all had these elements. Evolution may not be the most movie of all times, but in its genre it holds its ground.

Summary: Not an Oscar Movie
Review: Evolution is nowhere near getting an Oscar award but it's still entertainig. I really don't reccommend this to little kids due to the fact they may have nightmares about being in a mall being chased by some sort of Therydactil ( sp? ) creature. In some ways this is Jurassic Park - ish. If you are thinking about whatching this movie in theatres, expect sudden, very loud sound effects that could scare you. There is one cheesy part, using Head and Shoulders to kill a blob monstrosity. If you are bored and just want some entertainment, Evolution is for you.

Summary: Not the classiest movie ever...
Review: Okay, I hope none of you are looking for a high class comedy movie. Because "Evolution" surely is not that.

And, okay, it's not even on par with "Ghostbusters".

But if you're looking for an amusing distraction (and, come on, this isn't a Fellini flick we're talking about), "Evolution" is definitely your movie.

There's plenty of sophmoric laughs, some good computer generated effects, and, of course, that staple of cinematic lovliness (or at least it should be): DAVID DUCHOVNEY'S BARE ASS!

I'm telling ya, it's worth the price alone.

So, if you're looking to see a good summer flick, go watch "Evolution". It's painless, funny, and DD gets naked. What more can you ask for?
